Room was very big with separate sitting area Spotless clean very well decorated comfortable superking bed excellent views was easy parking on hotel grounds host at reception desk he was very friendly helpful altogether a very enjoyable experience would highly recommend this hotel

The hotel is located in an excellent position, at the bay pier in the city center, just a few hundred meters away from the circular monument of the ancient Roman Colosseum in the back mountain. The lovely and chubby young female staff at the hotel front desk provided very enthusiastic service, and the reception process was very professional and friendly! The other staff at the hotel front desk are also very friendly. Recommended check-in.

The TV signal source in the room is unstable, and the problem lies in the damaged coaxial cable interface between the TV and the wall, which leads to cable contact issues. Hotel engineers should check and maintain the TV signal at all times to ensure normal operation.

Lovely man at reception gave me a wonderful room at the top of this historic hotel, with a little seating area in a nook inside one of the turrets and a terrific view overlooking the harbour. The room was large and well-appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The Columba has a fantastic location, central to the charming town of Oban and just steps from a wide selection of shops and restaurants as well as the local distillery. The big bowl of candies at the front desk also is a friendly touch.

The lift. I can appreciate that it has its charms for nostalgia buffs, but it is very old and very complicated, with an iron gate to pull shut followed by a stiff wooden door. After the first go (and help from the man at the desk), I was literally afraid to use it and walked three flights of stairs instead. The hotel in general is faded, though it still retains a trace of what probably was past glory.

The property has a super location, close to shops and restaurants and sits right on the harbour. Our room looked onto the little island of Kerrera, it was spacious and pristine. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very good. The receptionist, Jukita, was fabulous, she couldn’t have been more helpful, very friendly and knowledgable of the surrounding district. We didn’t eat in the hotel so I can’t comment on the food. The only thing that lets it’s down is the bar area which was very quiet and dated. I didn’t have high hopes for The Columba but it was a pleasant surprise and just amazing value for money.

Can't beat the location of this hotel! Right on the waterfront. Staff were incredibly friendly the whole time and we even got an upgrade for our anniversary to windows 12 stateroom 😍 what a beautiful room!!!

While we really appreciate the upgrade to the BEAUTIFUL room, over half the curtains in the room (there are a lot!) Need fixing - when we came to draw them we discovered half we drooping of the curtain rail already so let all the light in the in morning... there was no opportunity to sleep past 5am. These need fixing asap, and with sturdy metal hooks not plastic ones as the curtains are heavy and snap them. Oh, also, could not for the life of us figure out the shower!

What a charming place! It in some ways felt more like a bed and breakfast. My room was spacious and had a great view of Oban bay. I massive bathtub and a warming towel rack made it feel very posh! They have a bar that is open 11a to 11p and it was delightful, spaces to sit, but you could also take the beverages to your room. I enjoyed my stay and absolutely fell in love with Oban.

Be prepared for a very tiny Victorian elevator. Imagine the old lattice type door on the car and a more solid door on each floor. It was a hair unnerving - but the front desk staff were super helpful in explaining how to use it. SO it wasn't a bad thing... but I don't like elevators. I only used it to go up and to transport my luggage.
