no breakfast available on site but we were given a great heads up from staff about a local breakfast place. The location is superb with lovely sea view . They are clearly upgrading this property and it will be fabulous when finished. We were pleasantly surprised as it was good value for money. Our room was very clean, bed very comfortable, good shower etc.

It was not really like a hotel i.e. no dining facilities and limited front desk service, because as mentioned they seem to be either refurbishing or bringing this premises back into use but this was not an issue for us. The staff were very pleasant and helpful .

I booked 3 rooms for 3 couples here for an overnight stay prior to taking the ferry to Mull. Our accommodation was very spacious with a sitting room attached to each bedroom. We also had the use of the bar and veranda for meeting up and sitting together. The hotel is well situated - it was an easy walk from the hotel down the hill to the shops, churches and seafront, or up to the ‘colosseum-like’ McCaig’s viewpoint. Parking at the hotel was good and we were able to leave our cars there after checkout until we needed to take them to the ferry.

Unfortunately, the information on Booking.com with regard to breakfast was wrong – breakfasts are no longer provided. Although there were places in the town where we could have gone out for breakfast, we chose to buy our own croissants, cheeses etc and we gathered together in one of our sitting rooms to share breakfast together - so all worked out well.

Since the new owners have taken over and started to refurb it, the change is amazing, before it was dated, now it is modern and comfy, staff were very friendly and would definetly stay again

not a critiscism as this is my personel choice, being a beer drinker, I would have liked a choice of Scottish beers, only Tenants (Lager) on tap and although a mixed range of bottled beers to choose from, it would be nicer to have had a selection of Scottish real ale beers especially local to Argyle, the Islands & and Highlands, even in bottles promoting the great beers from Scotlands.

Fantastic place to stay and will stay again. Such a friendly welcome when we arrived.The room we had was lovely and so comfortable. It is only a short walk into the Main Street of Oban. The bar area is so nice and the views from there are fantastic, lovely area to sit and have a drink in the evening. We had the option to add on a breakfast box which was delivered to our room in the morning. It was really great value for money and we were able to take it with us on our travels for the day. We had a fantastic stay!

A very comfortable night's sleep after a long ferry trip from South Uist. Good bathroom facilities and comfortable guest lounge overlooking Oban harbour. Short drive from town centre.

Heading north, entry to the property is from the busy A85, as you leave Oban. Depending on traffic you may have to go past the property and do a U turn to be able to enter the car park. If you are coming from the north on the A85, heading towards Oban, you can enter the driveway easily.

The location was perfect, very polite receptionist checked us in. Room was a great size overlooking the water. In the room we had tea & coffee facilities with some shortbread which was a nice touch. The hotel is immaculate and tastefully decorated.

We went out for dinner, by the time we got back around 9.30pm, their was no lights on in the front entrance & stairs which I didn't like only due to me being a little unsteady at times on my feet. It was very dark. The bed was very high to get in and out and this is only my preference but the mattress was extremely hard. I also found with my mobility that the shower had a step into it, but it was again quite high.

Managers Kia and Simon were so kind and helpful! Kia gave me info about the pool nearby and was so accommodating to my early arrival. They kept my bags safe after check out when I'd booked a cruise. They were sincerely caring folks and I highly recommend the hotel to travelers especially women traveling alone from overseas. I felt well cared for. Beds were super comfortable.

It's an old building and even though it's been renovated there were some spots in bathroom that looked maybe like mold. We have sensitive lungs so we worry about that.

Great area to visit, staff were friendly and efficient, the hotel is well maintained and comfortable, but...

Absolutely no food available on site, not even a continental breakfast. This is consequential as you either have to find somewhere for breakfast or try and buy in something the night before, although there was no facility either in the room or in the lounge for you to comfortably to eat it! Must do better!

The location is right off the road, making it easy to find, and only a short walk from the bay so we didn't have to drive. The room was very comfortable, and the staff very informative. Upon arrival, they saw our vehicle and let us park in a different spot than normal. They also were helpful with getting our luggage to our room. While there is no kitchen at this hotel, they do have a bar/social area. We just stayed out a little late and it was closed when we returned. The recommendation for a place to eat was well received and very much enjoyed.

The room was clean, and beautifully furnished. It was also equipped with a kettle, tea, coffee, and biscuits, which we got to enjoy sitting on the armchair behind the large window, where we could enjoy the view of the town. It was so nice of the staff to have prepared a breakfast box which we could take with us, since we had to leave very early in the morning. Nice hotel.
