The breakfast was superb. I tried the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce and bacon 1st morning and scrambled eggs and salmon the next morning - both very good. My husband had the cooked breakfast both mornings and said it was extremely good and tasty! The room was a seaview and what a view of the Calmac ferries coming into port and leaving port several times a day! We could also see Kerrera island across the way which we visited and walked to Hutchinson Monument and the marina. Enjoyed the orange juice and croissants delivered outside the bedroom door each morning at 7.30am. Nice touch as was the welcoming drink on arrival. Lovely lounge area and outside seating area and good parking outside.

The bathroom door didnt shut from the bedroom side. Although there was a lock on the inside whilst using the bathroom. A little dark inside the shower cubicle to see which was the shampoo conditioner or shower gel but shower good and hot. The Kettle top kept falling out of the kettle whilst filling teapot or cups! All minor problems which would be easily addressed.

The location was great, right along the seafront in Oban. The place was spotless and in excellent condition. But what set it apart for us was the staff and the overall service. Carrie was informative and friendly throughout our stay. From the warm welcome, to helpful information during our stay, through to the friendly goodbye to us and our dog on departure, she and the rest of the staff made the visit one we hope to repeat. Breakfast, too, was well executed and made for a nice start to each day.

This was a somewhat last minute trip for us, and it worked out great. The weather in Scotland during October is...well...the weather in Scotland in October. But even with the rain storm the room made an excellent spot for an evening in.

Decor throughout property is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Our woodland cottage was cozy and comfy, and the location is great for exploring Oban on foot. The team and facilities are also VERY dog friendly, which is really nice. Loved the honesty bar and lounge set up.

Parking at the property is very limited, but more so at the moment as there is a skip and scaffolding at he front of the property. This didn’t affect our view - but I imagine not so nice for the sea-view property - but it did make parking the car very difficult. The bathroom could have been cleaner, and more guest-ready, we only had half a roll of loo roll provided. We wrongly expected a wood burner in the cottage - as the listing includes “fireplace” and cottage photos showed logs - but it is an electric fire and logs are decorative.

Location was fab, a beautiful view from the terrace overlooking the sea, lovely coastal 10 minute walk into the town centre. Choice for breakfast was excellent and as a bonus you get fresh orange and pastries delivered outside your door before breakfast. We had our own patio seats of our room which was amazing if you just wanted to relax. Rooms were supplied with toiletries , room supplies with, hairdryer, iron and as an added bonus a magnified mirror which I really appreciated.

A level 15 min walk from town, 26 is a small elegant and stylishly decorated hotel. It feels opulent and was very clean and comfortable. Everything there felt special and we were treated professionally by an excellent staff. Our room had a fabulous sea view and an exceptional luxury bathroom. Breakfast was excellent in an open kitchen restaurant with a view of the chef at work. Service there also first class. All diets are catered for, including vegan and gluten free.

I had such a wonderful stay here. I'd had a harrowing day of driving from Edinburgh (flat tire + first time driving on the left), but I was set at ease the moment I walked into No. 26. I was warmly greeted and poured a glass of bubbly--it was so nice. The room was gorgeous and comfortable. The little morning snack they set outside your door before breakfast is a lovely and appreciated touch. The room does get warm at night, but when I asked for a flat sheet to use instead of the duvet, they found one for me immediately. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Absolutely wonderful experience!

Staff particularly Carrie were great. Breakfast was excellent as was the juice & pastries left outside the bedroom first thing in the morning. Comfortable lounge to relax in with honesty bar and good views over the ocean. Bed was comfortable and shower pressure excellent. Room was a wee bit tight but given it’s an old building then this is too be expected. From a cost perspective yes it’s expensive relative to most hotels in Oban but we thought it was worth it taking into consideration the whole experience, not just the room size

From the moment we arrived at No. 26 by the Sea in the town of Oban, it was clear we were in for a delightful stay. Greeted with a sparkling wine as we checked in, the welcoming ambiance was just the beginning of a truly splendid visit. This B&B, housed in a beautifully maintained historic building, holds 9 elegantly designed rooms. We stayed in a charming room on the second floor. While the absence of an elevator might be a concern for some, the quality of the accommodations more than made up for the brief climb. The bed was incredibly comfortable, promising a good night’s sleep, and I particularly loved the plush bathrobe provided! The modern amenities blended seamlessly with the historic charm of the building. The bathroom was stocked with high-quality essentials including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion. Coffee and tea can be prepared with a kettle. Breakfast at No. 26 is an event in itself. We were asked to order from an extensive menu the night before, and the next morning, a professional chef prepared our selections to perfection. We also loved the common room which features an honesty bar well stocked with wine, gin, whisky, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Located in a quiet part of the town right at the sea front, the B&B is just a ten-minute walk from the heart of Oban, with its various restaurants and shops. Parking is available and free of charge. The service at No. 26 by the Sea was impeccable, the attention to detail and the cozy yet sophisticated design of the B&B made us regret only having stayed for one night on route to the Isle of Mull. Overall, our experience at No. 26 by the Sea was exceptional. It earns a well-deserved 10/10 for its outstanding service, lovely design, and the overall cozy experience it provides.

Fabulous hotel / guest house feel - the most amazing welcome from Carrie - so warm & friendly - informative - told us to book a fab seafood restaurant which we luckily got in to / recommended a fab pub in Oban , a lovely seafood shack for takeaway picnic too - great to have such lovely personal service. Loved the lounge sipping a drink looking out to sea , lovely bedroom with fab sea views & very comfy bed & superb breakfast. Carrie then told us of local walks to do / beaches to visit which we did. Liked everything about No.26. Beautifully decorated living room and dining area - local modern art throughout. Great sea views (and sunset) from living room area and front rooms and a front terrace with firepits (as weather permits). Impeccable and friendly service from the moment of arrival (and welcome drink) thru departure. Individually chef prepared breakfast menu with variety of modern twists to it. Spotlessly clean and nicely provisioned rooms decorated with flair. Truly a wonderful find.

A slightly quieter fan in room 6 would be a plus.
