Nice, walkable location near everything. On-site parking lot. Very nice, spacious shower.... well bigger and better than what you usually get in Scotland. Nice comfortable bed.

With the need to keep the windows open to make it most comfortable, the noise from the pub across the road, and from traffic, can be somewhat loud for street-facing rooms. The parking lot can get crowded at times, making for occasionally right parking. Well kept inside, but some left not picked up in the parking lot and its access (which is also pretty dark). Didn't pre-pay for the breakfast that's available, and is hybrid buffet - to order. Went one morning, and don't think it's worth it. Better options elsewhere in Oban.

The room was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. The staff are extremely pleasant. Great car park and location.

There is no lift and the stairs are quite steep. There was a large wet patch on the floor by the side of the bed, we were given a towel to put over the top of it but it wasn’t pleasant. The towel had been taken away on our second night although it wasn’t quite dry. The bar didn’t carry a lot of the liqueurs listed on the menu. I ordered prosecco and it came in a large wine glass and was completely flat as though the bottle had been open for some time. We had to ask for a refund when I returned it.

I booked to stay for 1 night at The Scot for my husband and I, as I had a hospital appointment in Oban. After arriving at the hotel, the lovely lady on reception couldn't see our booking on her system although she could see that we had booked a room with them through booking.com it didn't go through to their system. This left me very stressed as they were fully booked and we choose this hotel for location and parking being included. At this point the lady was making phonecalls assuring me that she would find us an air b and b in town. I was a little worried but I had to leave to go to the hospital for my procedure. And was worried what we would get to be honest as I knew the hotel looked lovely and I wanted comfort after sedation. Anyway my husband picked me up from hospital and took me to the flat and all I can say is WOW, thank you so much to the lovely very helpful lady on reception (sorry I never got your name) who went above and beyond to ensure a stressful time was made a lot easier. The flat was amazing, very hi-spec decor, immaculate throughout, spotlessly clean. Superb comfy bed. I can't thank you enough for sorting out booking.coms error! The flats were 21/4 Airds im sure, in town. And we got free breakfast at The Scot hotel the next morning which was also 10/10.

Booking.com potentially leaving us with nowhere to stay in a very busy Oban after attending hospital

The location of The Scot was perfect for exploring Oban, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was spotless, and the room had the usual tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and a wee treat of some Tunnocks teacakes. There was a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, and a fan. The bathroom was modern with a nice big walk in shower, lovely toiletries, and plenty of clean towels. The room also had a nice, big, comfy bed, which allowed a great night's sleep 😴 We opted to have the cooked breakfast, which did not disappoint - it was delicious. There were also plenty of options like cereal, porridge, toast, and pastries. Also had a cracking coffee machine, and the lattes were lovely. Free parking was also a bonus. All in all, we had a lovely stay, and we will be back.

The room was very warm as the towel radiator was on constantly. Our problem though as we didn't realise we could open the windows or find the fan until the next morning 😊

The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful. Everything was very clean.

The walls in the room could use repainting, and a refrigerator in the room would be nice. I booked a compact double room so it was small, but perfect for what I needed as a solo traveler. There was just enough room to sleep, but two people walking around and getting changed and spending much time in there, it would be a bit tight. Doable, but tight. If you are just sleeping in there, which of course you are because you want to get out and explore, I would say go ahead.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay on the 16th December. We had a double room with a big comfy superking bed, sockets next to bed, plenty of storage, shower was lovely and powerful with plenty of hot water, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel all supplied, fresh big fluffy white towels changed daily. The room was cleaned and replenished every day, with hot chocolate different coffees, tea, milk and 2 marshmallow biscuits, also a couple of bottles of water. The location is brilliant with everything in walking distance. We never had breakfast or used the bar so can’t comment on that. Friendly staff made the stay all that much better.

The only problem was the WiFi wasn’t great, but never spoilt anything for us.

Ideal location - close to the Town centre/harbour, and also Corran Halls. Parking, but can be a tight squeeze if heading towards being full, as not everyone is considerate when they park (it’s not marked out with parking bays). Staff all lovely; friendly and helpful. Bedding immaculate, and beds very comfortable too. Tea/coffee, water, biccies etc in the room, which was a very nice experience - though room itself was a wee bit tired with a ceiling light ill-fitting and hanging out, and corners dusty .. just need a wee bit of attention to detail. Bathroom shower spot on and toiletries very pleasant .. bought some myself at wee shop down the street!

Nothing really; will return and stay again. If at front of building then George Street can be very busy with flow of people one-way traffic - so wee bit noisy, but you are literally on the town Centre so comes with the territory!

Good location and while not on the sea front, only one street back and within walking distance of everything in the centre of Oban. Good comfortable bar and they have an arrangement with a fabulous restaurant called 'Coast' where we ate and were able to inform us when our table was ready. Decor in the room was nice and bed was comfortable. Fabulous rain shower and free parking at the rear of the hotel.

Room and bathroom were both on the small size though thankfully, the shower cubicle which is the main thing was large. The walls were paper-thin and not much privacy so be quiet! Thought it was on the pricey side for what was on offer.

The property is very modern, with really nice Scottish touches. It’s within walking distance of everything. The bed was massive and the shower was fantastic. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment of food. Room was spotlessly clean, and the staff we encountered were very friendly and very helpful. Carpark isn’t huge so be aware of this, but we got parking arriving at 3pm. We could hear the music from the pub across the road until late, it didn’t bother us, but if that sort of thing does maybe ask for a room at the back. We will most definitely be booking again, had a lovely day and night in Oban.

That I had only booked one night!

It was in the perfect location to walk to everything in Oban. The staff was friendly and professional (however they seem to keep staff levels at a minimum so they are doing g multiple tasks and service can get delayed). The beds are very comfortable.

The rooms get warm with in summer but are clean and comfortable. For the price range it would be nice to have more staff on site so you don’t have to wait for varying services (such as getting a drink at the bar takes a long time since the bartender is also checking people into the hotel).
