The rooms were very modern with pergo flooring. The bathroom was nice and the shower pressure was perfect. The beds were very comfortable. There is also a very cute terrace/seating area which was cute. The location was perfect for us, only about a 5 minute walk to the boardwalk. Our room did face a noisy and busy street but it did not bother us at all. We still slept great. Another plus was free parking. And the staff were nice.

I didn't like that the pool was not heated. The listing said it WAS heated. And the "breakfast" was Costco granola bars, cereal, bananas and orange juice.

Loved the 2 night stay September 28 2024! Clean room. Hot water. Very pleasant to sleep after the Beach and the boardwalk. Easy check in. Its One block away from boardwalk. The little stores around saved us for the beer run. We didn’t utilize the pool this time. We had an amazing time because we slept great. The boardwalk is safe there is security everywhere super clean. Wear comfy shoes and bring Lots of money! We will 100% stay at Wyndham 8 Santa Cruz again. Saturday overcast day and sunday and Monday sunny for the end if September. Rooms Very clean room and sheets and towels and very quiet for the weekend. Bring toiletries. Nothing was broken in our room 206. Microwave and coffee maker available in the room. We used the mini fridge to put all our drinks. coffee and light snacks for morning time for free in lobby. We stayed 2 nights so fresh towels daily and a quick clean up was done to the room. We didn’t need full room service this time. Will 100% stay at Wyndham 8 Santa Cruz

The pool was small but perfect and great! The room was super comfortable and quiet!! The staff were amazing. The breakfast was kind of slim, but we did enjoy what you did have. The location was amazing...thank you so much!

Maybe a little pressure washing of the walkways would be good to clean it up a bit. Maybe some fresh paint on the outside and a little fine tuning of the facility/a little upkeep would be good. Otherwise, we had a great time!! Thank you!!

Location. Close to the beach and downtown. The room was spacious and nice decorated. The bed and pillows were confortable. It was a plus to have a microwave and mini refrigerator in the room. As solo traveler I felt safe. I definitely will recommend and book this place again.

There were left over food in one of the tables outside the rooms. It took a couple days for the staff to clean it. The breakfast could improve. It only has sweet bars. It could be nice to have another option like a protein bar.

Very clean. Looks like rooms have been recently renovated. Great location and very affordable price. No complaints. It’s not the Hyatt but great bargain for what we paid. Best Santa Cruz budget hotel I’ve stayed at, mostly because of location, friendly staff, nice common patio area to eat breakfast before heading to the boardwalk which is very close by. We will return there.

Nothing significant

Clean and comfortable room. Adequate lights. Comfortable swivel office chair with wheels, upholstered chair. Table, nightstands w/Gideons Bible, and dresser. Numerous outlets conveniently located. Spacious vanity countertop in bathroom. Waterfall faucet. First-rate daily housekeeping service without having to ask.

Freezer was not cold enough, while refrigerator was too cold.

It's walking distance to the boardwalk. Staff was nice and the room was updated and clean.

Beds make noise but not a real big deal. My room was facing the river right off the street so of course you hear all the cars and noise outside. If your not to picky and sensitive it won't bother you much.

The room was massive with a large comfortable bed, coffee facilities, fridge and a big walk in shower. The manager, David was really nice and supplied coffee, juice and breakfast bars in the lobby each morning. Very close to the boardwalk with a lovely terrace to sit and watch the sunset.

What I didn't like about the location: In my room the water was not hot it wasn't even lukewarm. They serve breakfast that's what it says on their advertisement but all they do is give a granola bar and coffee it says 7:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. but they don't serve till 8:00 I like to stay at super 8 motels but this is one..

The outside isn’t great but the room was really nice. Clean, hardwood floors, refrigerator and coffee maker. Nice size bathroom. There was plenty of space to walk around. Walking distance to beach Broadwalk

The outside needs some work. A couple of things added to the room would make it even better. There’s no place to hang clothes, a blow dryer and at least available at the desk an iron
