The location is only a block from the Santa Cruz Pier and an easy walk to the Beach Boardwalk. While the rooms are basic, they are comfortable; one is paying for the location. Parking is free and security of the parking lot enforced. The rooms also contain a microwave and tiny mini-refrigerator, which is a great convenience.

The plumbing was in poor shape, with a leak in the bathroom sink and the knob for the tub/shower loose; it would come off in one's hand. People with mobility issues should know that this property is on a steep hill and so even the 'ground floor' rooms involve dealing with a very steep slope. Rooms on the upper level require negotiating multiple flights of steps; there are no lifts. Also be aware that there is no coffee maker or teapot in the room.

We loved that the hotel was only a 4 minute walk to the beach and to the pier!! We got the double beds in the room and it was spacious for our family. The room was cleaned daily for us and we appreciated it.

The beds could have been comfier, it was a bit hard. The parking was also awkward since it was on an uphill slope. There is no elevator and only stairs so it made lugging the suitcases and coolers hard. The bathtub and sink did not drain very well also.

For the price - I thought the hotel was great. I traveled with 3 teenagers- room was big enough- old (Santa Cruz charm) but clean and best of all it was a very short walk to the beach and boardwalk- because of the location, I thought it was worth the price and would stay again. Check in was friendly and the place was quiet.

The only things I did not like was there was no coffee maker in the room- but there was a coffee shop within walking distance - and the shower was very slow to drain which was not good with 4 people needing to take a shower- the beds were uncomfortable

The property is located a couple of block from the Boardwalk and is within walking distance of the beach. Location is a little complicated to get to, but that is only because the city use of one way streets. not a faults of the property.

The Parking was a little sketchy to get into, specifically because it is on a small hill, when you are done parking depending on your spot you could be on an incline or an at odd angle

The Indian lady at the reception was very nice and friendly and let us to do check-in much earlier (around 1:30 pm). Overall, very clean and nice room, you get absolutely best value for the money. Very good location - close to the beach and amusement park, comfortable bed and very clean room.

This is a prime location merely steps from the pier! Walking to the boardwalk took less than 10 minutes and went along the beach. I will definitely stay here for my next vacation to Santa Cruz!

There was no continental breakfast, which was fine by me but disappointing to my 2 kids under 10! Our two bedroom was a tight fit, but worked. . Our room did not have an ocean view, but I didn’t request one!

It is a clean and safe place, very fair. It is close to the beach and the host it was very polite and kind. Garage it is also a diferencial of the place.

It doesn’t have any food or machine food to save you in a emergency. It is not a problem, but you should be aware.

Location was perfect walking distance to Santa Cruz wharf. Very affordable rooms! Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms conveniently have fridge and microwave- huge plus!

You get what you pay for; it’s not a luxury hotel by any means, but serves its purpose perfectly. Parking was a bit tight for my truck, smaller cars are much better off to be parked here, but at least it is free.

Room 105 was perfect, when I walk into the room it was clean. No sign of garbage on the ground or in the bathroom. The beach near the hotel which is in walking distance. I have zero complaints it was true it was absolutely respect and dignity. Thank you beachview and thank you for a perfect weekend.

I have nothing negative to say about beach view it was an excellent time the whole time.

My room was perfect, except the fridge leaked a bit. The reception was very friendly and accommodating. I grew up in Santa Cruz, but haven't lived there since the 90s. My mom is in SC, in a nursing home,.so I have been staying in a few hotels on my trips to see her. This hotel was the best so far, clean, quiet, affordable and comfortable. I stayed here during the off season and it was a great deal.

Tv stations were pretty bad. Disclaimer: don't watch TV much so maybe I'm not the best judge.
