Resident City Hotel is ideally located near parallel to one of Almaty main avenues Abbas Khan Avenue. This makes the property walking distance from some of Almaty’s major attractions including the pedestrian zone - Arbat street and the recently renovated Panfilov street. Property serves and elaborate breakfast with a lot of choice. Hotel is new, rooms are neat and clean. House keeping is very good. Rooms are a bit small but have decent view. The reception is extremely helpful and polite. They go an extra mile to help guests.

Everything is good. Lift in the lobby malfunctions when used a lot and the hotel is full.

Depending on how you get around, location is perfect for us as there is a metro some 5-7mins walk away. If you like to go around in a Yandex/taxi, just be mindful that the road can get pretty clogged on weekdays. The hotel staff are all great. The reception team speaks English, so communications was smooth. They are attentive to our needs, and provide good explanation whenever it was needed. When we called for some assistance to the basin of the room, the response was an astounding 5 mins (or less). Resolved in no time. The view is especially amazing. We stayed on the 8th floor, and we always have the mountain view (when it is not foggy). At night, we can even see Shymbulak. Breakfast choice is adequately good, generally normal offerings like sausages, fried eggs, salad, potatoes, cereal etc. We had kazhe (horse sausage) cold cuts, and they're good! We loved the stay. Was a very good last minute find!

While it is not a deal breaker, a hand bidet would be good as we use that in our country. That would be one a strong decision point for travelers from my part of the world. Lastly, also for personal preference, I'd like the room with warmer lights. But to all their own.

I liked everything about this exceptional hotel. Location can be described as strategic. Breakfast i very good, my only criticism is that sliced bread for toast is not available, because i love toast with my breakfast, otherwise all good(can be bought for the nearby supermarket, if one wishes). Supermarket just across the street, Various money changing bureaus just around the corner of the supermarket, so you can compare which is giving the best rates (remember to take passport with you). On the hotel's side, round the corner, you will find a pharmacy and a bit further down there is one of the many Qagant outlets in Almaty, good food for very cheap, repeat very cheap prices. Also its in very centrally located. Its my second time at Resident, so I can say that it was not a fluke.

A very comfortable stay in a nice and modern hotel, walking distance from the train station, where I arrived and departed from. Lovely breakfast spread. Good service. Spotlessly clean!

The light sensors in the hallway need to be updated - it takes a while for them to detect motion and come on, leaving one walking in the darkness. For those on lower floors using the stairway, there is one particularly tall step to be mindful of on the lowest stairwell, which I tripped on multiple times! Something should be done about that to prevent a serious injury!

I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The staff were accommodating and ready to help (special mention to Johny and Damilya who were extra gracious). The room was cozy with good soundproofing and most of the basic needs were provided. The breakfast had a decent variety and the restaurant itself had a tasty menu. Location was good with nearby small groceries. Arbat street is a 12 min walk away. As I wasn’t able to use the Yandex app, the receptionists were kind to help book me a cab whenever I needed to. Will definitely, go back!

The hotel is compact and clean, location is good, walking distance to the inter-city train station (access train service to other parts of Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan). The hotel provides drinking water, coffee & tea sachets. Kettle and fridge are available in the room too. The hotel restaurant provides breakfast (good spread), lunch & dinner (with good options). There are also eateries nearby, within 15 mins walk, a grocery store is available opposite the hotel. The reception counter staff speak good English.

Observed staff are not as friendly (except 2 I encountered are particularly helpful and welcoming), few even frown/stern when I ask questions or make requests. Restaurant staff don't seem to be able to speak English much, it was hard to communicate in few encounters.

The hotel was nice and clean, plus it is quiet, the people working there were very helpful and understanding. They helped us when the door to our room suddenly stopped opening and they offered another room on the same floor with no extra charge.

The breakfast was not the fancy and the buffet seemed repetitive. The lobby was small too and sometimes there is no place to sit. The rooms were clean and spacious for 2 separate beds but had no room to sit down and it seemed tight.

We had a fantastic stay!The room was spotless ,they provide daily cleaning but changing of linens every 3 days!The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly especially NURAY, the location is convenient close to restaurants , major attractions and money changers!We love the contemporary design and it has 2 elevators, most comfortable bed with 4 pillows!The only downside was the same breakfast menu daily but lots of choices,no indoor pool and no bidet, but overall we highly recommend this hotel for your next travel adventures!

The breakfast options were Phenomenal. There were options for meat-eaters and vegetarians, and the lovely staff made sure they never ran low. My only critique is that the meat options did not have labels (to detail what type of meat), but staff were helpful in figuring that out. I was also very happy with the sauna, and I LOVED the bathroom in my room. There was a dental hygiene kit, shaving kit, and a comb. Also, the hotel was very close to public transport and local shops.

Although the room very clean, it was a bit small. Other than this, the card machine didn't register with any of my credit cards, so I had to use debit.

Resident City Hotel is a solid offering in Almaty, with decent rooms, at competitive prices. We particularly enjoyed the power shower in our room - a feature that isn’t always easy to find when travelling in this part of the world! The buffet style breakfast was also strong, with plentiful options, and a continental offering alongside a small selection of traditional Kazakh specialities. I would recommend this hotel when visiting the cosmopolitan Almaty!

The heater in our room was broken, and the service team were unable to fix it, meaning we had to move everything to another room. This happened on two occasions, which was frustrating, although to their credit the hotel allowed us to have a super late check out which was much appreciated!
