I visited this privately owned Hotel in 2017 when it was owned by another couple.When I arrived this time I found it was under new ownership. But I had no need to worry. The sdtandards set by the previous owners of welcome, clean roooms, great balcony and wonderful breakfast where just the same. It is so nice to be able to still stay at privately owned non chain hotels. We will be returning. My wife tells me !!!!! And our Godlen doodle dog said evrything was great for him. Even his own sausage wrapped in foil for breakfast,

Wonderful hosts - friendly, approachable and keen to recommend places to visit/eat locally. We were on a walking holiday and they mentioned they check solo travellers have got back safely if they know they are walking along the cliffs etc, which I thought was exceptional. Loved all the 'little touches' at breakfast, high quality food and beautifully presented. Despite being moments (literally!) away from the Old Village/main road, the location was very quiet. Extremely convenient for the buses, so would suit those using public transport and/or looking to not walk too far.

THe breakfast was good, my friend enjoyed the full English and I enjoyed the berries on my muesli. We had a small double with en-suite each, both of which were as advertised. The room was well kept and the linen clean. The location was marvellous being a short walk from the Old Village with its independent shops and many eateries. There is a lift which operates all day all week which takes out the steep walking down to the beach.

I didn't realise how high above sea level that Shanklin was. It is a perfect place for Singles or Couples but not so easy for Families that want the beach every day.

Staff were very considerate they had to check us in late despite their cut-off time, very pleasant and welcoming.

The Braemar is a lovely hotel, efficiently ran by Claire & Boz who are super friendly and helpful. The rooms have everything you will need and are very comfortable and well kept. The bar & games room is a great addition although it was locked and closed by the time we had returned in the evening. Breakfast couldn't be faulted, a great choice, well presented and cooked perfectly . . thoroughly recommend the Braemar to anyone who is looking for a stay in Shanklin.

As the local pubs closed around 23:00 it would have been nice to have a nightcap and maybe a game of pool on the games room, but it was closed each evening on or return to the hotel.

Extremely good breakfast, extremely comfortable beds, very quiet location,good position just off shanklin high street, parking was great with a generous area to the rear, hosts boz and Clair were very welcoming very knowledgeable about local areas to visit, a really excellent hotel we will definitely be back.

Nothing everything perfect

Great location in the Old Town close to the "Chine" , walk down to the Sea and several local eateries. A good base to explore the Island including a half hourly bus service to Newport and Ryde on the doorstep. The owner Clare and Boz made us feel very welcome and his Poached eggs for breakfast were superb.

Our room was a little compact but comfortable.

It was a pleasant, friendly place to stay, excellent breakfasts and we were well looked after by the owners. It was ideally situated in the pretty Shanklin Old Village and near the main road. We had decided to take advantage of the excellent I.O.W bus services to get around, so were near bus stops. Shanklin Chine was nearby too.

Fantastic hosts, made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was lovely each morning with a wide variety of selections. Room immaculate and lovely outdoor terrace perfect for nice weather with the games room with a pool table an added bonus. Brilliant location right in the heart of Shanklin old village. We loved our stay and when we visit again we’ll definitely come back.

Really friendly welcome, we required a fridge for medicine and was willing provide in the room. The room was spotless. Everything about the hotel was excellent with the owners Claire & Boz working tirelessly for all guests comfort.

Must say nothing, personally myself & my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
