We had a very warm welcome at checkin and our room was ready much earlier than the listed checkin time. The view was great, it seemed we had been given the best room available. Room was clean and comfortable and the staff continued to show kindness and welcomeness every day/night we were there.

The property is a little hidden from the main road and its a somewhat steep walk too from the city center, but you can easily reach most of the restaurants/bars and shops within 10-15 minutes of walking.

Prior to our arrival, we contacted the hotel and asked if they could arrange a transfer for us. Suni, the main coordinator at the hotel, promptly sent a car and answered all our questions. The accommodation is very simple, with just three rooms. We truly enjoyed our stay and the stunning views from our private terrace. Suni also arranged a day trip on a speedboat for us and negotiated favorable prices. It was a very enjoyable day with a good operator. At our request, a simple vegetarian breakfast was provided (breakfast was included), with plenty of fresh fruits. A wonderful coffee shop that also serves food is located next door to the hotel, so you won’t go hungry. The room itself was very spacious, cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided each day. The shower head wasn't working properly on the first day, but Suni fixed it immediately. The quality of sleep was good, although the pillows could use an upgrade or replacement. Thanks to Suni, the hotel and the surrounding area are kept clean and well maintained. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Pillows were not comfortable

We had a spacious room with a spectacular ocean view - the balcony was perfect for watching sunsets in the evenings. The bed was big and comfortable, staff was kind, and breakfasts were simple but a convenient way to start the day with beautiful views from the dining area. The location is great- less than 10 minutes by car from the airport, perched uphill from town center- removed from traffic/noise, but an easy walk to town for plenty of restaurants and bars.

Minor things: the room was big, but the space felt inefficient. For example, the kettle/tea set up was on the bathroom sink, though there is ample space in the room for a small table or cart near an electrical outlet. The bathroom has no door and is separated by a curtain.

The sea view room is massive, it has a king bed and a single bed, TV, wardrobe, big bathroom. Breakfast was great, and it changed daily. Service is great. Being able to see the sunset from your bed is amazing. The place is just a 12-minute walk from the town centre.

Unfortunately the curtains were not enough and there was heaps of light coming in from around 5am, I was diving daily so it didn't bother much but the last day I tried to sleep until 9am but I had to use eye mask since it there was way too much light coming in. Also, there was a party around 3 days in a row, which finished around 11pm. The other 3 days I slept really well, the bed is so comfortable. The aircon needs to be replaced, it cools down the room but because it's too big, it's not enough.

Everything at the Blue Parrot was great, from the initial welcome from Suni, who was a mine of useful information and tips, to the friendly and kind staff who looked after our room so very well. The bed was super comfy and super sized, the aircon worked a treat, the fridge was efficient at keeping the bottles of water we were given each day cool and the shower was excellent. The reception/breakfast area had a fantastic view of the bay and each sunset was a delight. Breakfast was cooked fresh at a time of our choosing and was good. Suni arranged our boat trips at a discounted price and was on hand to help us get a taxi whenever we wanted. The accommodation was just outside of the busy part of Labuan Bajo which worked perfectly. We had a fabulous vantage point for watching the sun go down, a quiet location (call to prayer aside) and an easy and short walk to all the restaurants and shopping in the town.

A neighbour of the property vied with the muezzin at each of the prayer times. He had a nice tone to his voice but his proximity meant we were sometimes woken during the night. We discovered he was ‘doing his own thing’ and was not a cleric 🤔

It really exceeded our expectations. This is a small hotel with only three bedrooms, located in a very convenient area (just a five-minute walk to the city center and fish market..). The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but incredibly delicious. What impressed us most was the attitude of the staff, especially Mr. Suni, the manager. They always smiled whenever they saw us. Mr. Suni even recommended some great local restaurants, which turned out to be excellent and very reasonably priced. He also helped us call a taxi after we checked out. It was an experience worth every penny. We highly recommend booking this hotel in advance, as the number of rooms is very limited. We will definitely stay here again if we have the chance to return to Labuan Bajo.

This was the return leg of our stay in Labuan so for a short one-night short stay we chose a slightly more modest hotel than for our first, longer stop - more in the centre too. Once we're found the place we were really delighted with our choice. The welcome was great and there was a great view across the harbour from the reception area where the great breakfast was served the next morning. The bed was comfortable and the room size good; great bathroom too. There's a shortcut down to the street below, but it is rather perilous/unlit and not for the faint-hearted so the walk may be longer and the uphill on the return.

It was really hard to find - there isn't a sign or not one we saw so it took us a while to locate it and there are steep steps down to the property. There's a curtain separating the bathroom from the bedroom so perhaps not for everybody although not an issue with us! Paintwork could do with a bit of refreshing in areas but again these are small things which should not detract from such a lovely stay.

We enjoyed our 3 nights at the Blue Parrot in the ocean view room. Labuan Bajo is lively and very walkable due to excellent sidewalks on all the main roads, including to the Blue Parrot up a bit of a hill. Kettle and refrigerator in room was nice and bed was comfortable. Owner and staff were very nice and helpful booking local excursions.

Needs a darker curtain on the giant side window to block light from adjacent cafe. (Front curtains are dark) A water dispenser instead of plastic water bottles would be much better for the environment, and some chairs inside the room would be great to relax. Wet bath always a challenge with damp floors, and flimsy curtain for bathroom needs an upgrade. Not the fault of the inn, but disappointing that Labuan Bajo doesn’t have any public beaches, as new resorts are private, so only island trips possible to swim.

The view and location was perfect. We had the biggest room with a great view of the harbor as well as a lot of space to spread out for two people. The host was so helpful and accommodating. Setting up our tour for us to see Komodo Island and other stops. You are right in town so restaurants and shopping are walkable. The breakfast was adequate. One morning we ate in the common room, which has an amazing view of the harbor. One morning he made us a take away breakfast for our day on the boat, and then we had breakfast in our room the morning that we left.

No complaints. Other people have commented on the curtain that separates the bathroom and I agree, a sliding door would work perfectly there and give a bit more privacy. But other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Super comfortable, super clean and absolutely amazing place to stay in Labuan Bajo. Blue Parrot is locally owned homestay with the standards of a hotel when it comes to the rooms, comfort, views and staff. We had the room with our own private terrace overlooking the sea, absolutely stunning! The room was spacious with king size bed and one more single bed. Bathroom was clean and modern (no doors - no problem). The staff was absolutely amazing, Mr. Suni was super welcoming and helpful with all the questions we had. His fellow colleagues were fantastic in taking care of us, cooking the breakfast and cleaning up the room. We stayed for 5 nights and we were absolutely delighted with our stay. 7-10 minutes walking to the town. Definitely would return back. We always prefer to stay in locally owned places just to show our support. If you want to stay away from the noisy traffic of the main street but still be within walking distance then I highly recommend staying in Blue Parrot!!!
