Great location on the beach road, we were provided with a clean comfortable room on a lower floor as we requested. The room was a good size and the bed extra-large and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was tasty and very generous. The room included coffee tea and hot chocolate plus an iron and ironing board. A large tub with lots of hot water was a real luxury (and you also had the option of a shower). Plenty of towels that were renewed daily.

There is no lift and all the rooms are above ground level. If you need assistance, be sure to mention it and staff will help you with your luggage. The WIFI was either very good or completely absent.

Breakfast was cooked to order, although cereals, etc. very limited. In selection It's good to have a fan in the room, but it had limited power. Staff were very friendly on arrival in particular. Large room with enormous wardrobe space. Air conditioning should be on in the breakfast room before guests arrive on such a warm morning, rather than have to ask for it. The location is good.

The bedside lights had a liimted cord on it, which meant knuckles grazed when turning lights off. Could have done with a fridge in the room. The fan provided was so weak The layout of bedrooms makes it luke a "crystal maze" set having to go up and stairs to reach same level. More local information should be provided in the guest information pack Having to log into Internet should not be required.

The hotel is in a great location, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and our room was very warm, comfortable and quiet. One of our party has limited mobility but we were able to leave the wheelchair in reception and she managed to go up and down the stairs independently. We had a couple of very good evening meals in the restaurant and the bar was lively and very pleasant. It was a perfect place to stay for a long weekend with easy access to the (flat!) seafront, lovely walks and lots of interesting places to visit on foot and/or within 30 minutes or less drive.

The only downside is the bathroom, which could do with a major upgrade to ensure that water temperature is consistent and doesn't vary from too hot to very cold during a brief shower.

Firstly, the hotel is pretty much on the seafront, with footfall & traffic. However, we had a sea-view room (pier-view)? The hotel oozes charm, gained from its age. Steps & corridors add to the appeal. Our room, the pier-room, had everything we needed. Everything worked, WI-FI was excellent. Just a note about the room, which normally narks me!? Theres an iron, coat-hangers. The kettle works. So do the plugs & the sink plugs. The bed (in this room) was, blissful, no squeaks or such. Pillows were a joy. Going on here........it was a great stay. Breakfast was 5*, our room 5*, location 5*, staff 5*

I have stayed here a lot and it is great value, excellent service and great location. I was in room 4 overlooking the front/great view. We didn't eat but we did have a late night drink in the bar. Water pressure a bit low but I wasn't staying there for long. Breakfast is always good and the best thing is that it is from 7, so you can get on with your day. Going back again soon for another trip and I rate this place highly.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Brilliant location, you can step out of the hotel and there are many restaurants and pubs to choose from, although the hotel has its own bar and restaurant if you don't want to walk far.

Room was very hot due to being located at the top of the building and the window not opening fully. Very minor cleaning issues such as a bit of mould on the sink and tiles in the bathroom, the rest of the room was very clean. The shower was a little bit difficult to work and noisy.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the location is great - a short walk from the station.

Our room was on the second floor. No lift and stairs a bit steep for us oldies, understandable in an older building. Bath with shower, again difficult for us (we prefer a built in shower) and as temperature involves using the hot and cold taps it seemed impossible to get a constant temperature for the shower - too hot or too cold. However we'd certainly book here again.

Perfect location and rooms were very comfortable. We had booked two rooms both with beautiful sea views! One had just recently been decorated and bathroom updated. The second room needed a little update but perfectly fine for our stay. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and really delicious

There is no lift and some of the rooms are up lots of stairs , so you need to bear this in mind Other than that there are no other negatives at all.

Staff friendly polite and hard working, Room was slightly smaller than we had anticipated but comfortable bed, pillows a little lumpy, would advise they replace, room 6, shower was hard to guage either very cold or too hot, took a while to adjust. TV on wall could have done with a bracket to move around to enable seeing from other side of room. The breakfast was of very good quality produce and best poached eggs we have had in a long while. Location is fantastic for the town and beach and other tourist sites. The outside area is great for the afternoon and evening entertainment, lovely friendly atmosphere between all the pubs and restaurants there.

Stairs to room quite steep and it was very warm evening so had window open wide so traffic noise was loud perhaps a fan in room would help. Apart from all these recommendations we would return again.

The Rooms were very clean and the facilities were great ( although only one of our rooms had a fan and it was a very warm evening. I am sure we would have been supplied with one if we had asked) We had lunch outside and the food was fantastic. Breakfast was also very good. There were lots of staff, who were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Only comment is that there is no lift,and lots of stairs, so this may be a problem if you had mobility issues.
