The room was spacious with good lighting with view on the river Saôn. Eventhough we were on the main street we couldn't hear any noise from the street with the double glass windows. The staff is friendly and the reception is open 24/7. easy to access by foot or bus.

The drinking water is free but you need to go down to the reception to get it. The bathroom is not well structured. the toilet is too close to the wall so cannot sit properly with a very hot heater touching you. The shower/bath is not very well thought out, all the water went out while showering.

Nice cosy hotel in Vieux Lyon and very conveniently located to reach the main sights of the city on foot. Friendly staff at check in. Hotel has a lot of character. Staff kindly upgraded me to a larger room.

I would have preferred to have had water available in the room instead of having to go ask staff for it each time. Sometimes coming back there wasn't a staff member around or there was a wait. It would be a lot more convenient for guests if they could get the water as self service or have cleaning staff leave bottles for guests rather than having to go ask for it each time. Room could have perhaps needed a bit of updating and maintenance e.g spa bath didn't work and some of the bathroom fixtures starting to fall off the wall.

Very nice location right on the river and in a walking distance from town center. The room was very clean and the staff was polite.

There were no glasses or slippers in the room, no electric cattle for water which are some of the things you would expect in a 4* hotel.

The location is excellent just in the corner of the old city. Our room had a view to the river Saône and it was spacious. At the reception was unlimited access to cold, fresh water (with or without gas) in enviromentally friendly reusable bottles. The breakfast was worth the money.

On the first morning some items in the breakfast buffet were already gone before nine (i.e. baquette, scrambled eggs). Otherwise the selection was wide and delicious.

The staff at Le Phenix is super professional and kind. They were able to accommodate both an early check-in request and an extension of our stay when our plans changed. We were also invited to join their vendor event spontaneously and truly enjoyed meeting the vintners who supply their bar. Our room was comfortable and large. We will be back!

The thermostat wanted to keep the room a bit warmer than we like, and opening the windows was to typical city smells (diesel and smoke). I think this was our issue, rather than the hotel's, but we never figured out the temperature controls.

Very nicely and tastefully renovated hotel in the centre of Lyon - I had a single room which was fine in terms of size and comfort. The winter garden is a lovely feature. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The bedroom doors slam waking you up in the middle of the night when your neighbours come back. It’s a pity to renovate a hotel so well and forget a « detail » that has a negative impact on your guests stay.

The hotel's location is fantastic—situated right on the riverbank and just a stone's throw away from the charming old city. With an abundance of restaurants nearby, I was spoiled for choice when it came to dining options. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met with care and professionalism. This hotel felt more like a home away from home with a lot of cozy ambiance and thoughtful touches throughout the hotel.

We loved the large deluxe twin room size with lovely views across from the river. Gorgeous large windows. Rooms were quiet and beds were super comfortable. Location was great. Staff were lovely.

The old style spa tub with shower curtain - would prefer a shower with screen to prevent water all over the floor.

A couple of the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The interior of the hotel is quaint which you can't really tell from the outside so that was a pleasant surprise. The room was of a good size so we could hang out inside and be very comfortable. The complimentary water out front was definitely a plus for we drink a lot of water.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location near Vieux Lyon. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. The room was small, but comfortable and exactly what I needed. However, the hotel does express it's desire to be more eco-friendly. Given this, I thought it was odd that towels were changed daily. I would suggest an option to not have cleaning/towel changes if the guest chooses.
