Overall, a good experience. The bed was comfortable, and the room was preheated before our arrival, which made it nice to step into a warm space after being out in the cold. Everything was clean, and there were no noises to disturb us. There’s also a small fridge in the room, which was a great bonus for us. The breakfast was okay - not amazing, but since it’s included in the price, it’s a nice perk.

The only downside was a strong smell of dampness in the bathroom, likely because there’s no fan for ventilation. It’s quite noticeable and something the management should address. You do get used to it over time, but every time you come back into the room from fresh air, it hits you again. Very unpleasant.

The staff is always extremely friendly. Some of the staff were there last year and recognized us. We have been using this location for four years and it's been amazing each time

I wish housekeeping would have come to the room and tidy up the room a little more and to make sure we had towels. We would put dirty towels outside the door which means we didn't have any. So we had to keep going to the front desk to get towels. Also the pool never had towels when I took my kids to the pool. That was a little more frustrating. I would already have been in the pool had to get out and be cold walking carefully to the front desk to get towels.

My stay at Holiday Inn Express - Wilmington - Porters Neck was fantastic! The breakfast provided was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcomed throughout my entire stay. One of the highlights of my visit was the chocolate chip pancakes served at breakfast - they were simply divine! The fluffy pancakes combined with the rich chocolate chips made for a delightful morning treat. It was definitely my favorite part of the breakfast spread. Overall, my experience at Holiday Inn Express - Wilmington - Porters Neck exceeded my expectations. From the outstanding breakfast to the exceptional service provided by the staff, I left feeling satisfied and refreshed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

It was in a nice location near a few places to eat and across the street from a Harris Teeter. HI was clean, the room was super large and the staff was friendly. The breakfast is a huge hot space of variety itmes with to go bags and trays available. Breakfast area was clean and different coffees, milks and juices were offered. The pool was clean and so was the gym. Will stay here again.

The front desk person was phenomenal. She saved us additional funds, gave us cookies and water, and met us at midnight when we returned from the ghost tour. She had a fabulous personality.

There was orange mold in the shower and it needed caulked. The rest of the facilities were very clean and quiet. It has one of the cleanest and nicest pools I've used.

Good variety of food for breakfast. I liked that coffee was available all day. The location was great as it was only 10 minutes from my daughter’s house.

The heating system was very inconsistent. It either blew out cold air or hot air and the settings didn’t seem to adjust well.

It was clean, employees were friendly, our room smelt amazing.

The ac was a little loud but I didn’t mind because I like background noise but it may be bothersome to others. There wasn’t any towels stocked in the pool area. They only have one washer and dryer set up for the whole hotel. It would be nice to have one on each level so everyone is fighting to use the same one. We did notice an employee letting someone in the pool after hours which wasn’t the fairest but I still give it a 5 star review. We will definitely be back!

I like the cleanliness of the room, the fact that it's in a location with stores and plenty of restaurants to walk too. The staff was very friendly, nice, and helpful. We especially enjoyed the conversation with the young lady at the front desk. She was running the place with ease and she was very friendly and professional. She checked us in on Saturday and checked us out on this morning. I will definitely come back because of her hospitality.

We had a ground floor room. Close to pool and back door to parking lot. Staff was very helpful.

Parking spaces were very small. One side of our van got damaged by a red car door. Paint marked on passenger side. Not enough handicap parking spots
