We recently had the pleasure of spending three nights at the High Peaks Hotel, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. Lucy, the manager, truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Her attention to detail and genuine care for her guests was evident in every interaction. She was always available to answer our questions, provide recommendations for local attractions, and make us feel welcome. Lucy's friendly demeanor and professionalism made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel itself was fantastic, with comfortable rooms and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The amenities were top-notch, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Overall, our stay at the High Peaks Hotel was nothing short of amazing. Huge shout out to the Receptionist Lucy who could not have been more helpful. It was wonderfully quiet. My only issue was I was on public transport & there isn’t any in Fox town so it was quite a walk with suitcase - but on the way to very beautiful Lake Matheson, not to be missed! The eco-tour of the glacier area on foot was excellent too and had pick up from the hotel👍🏻

The location on foot was challenging. There’s no microwave, but there’s a fridge & coffee/tea making.

Large room with surprisingly big and modern bathroom. Warm room even on a cold day. Good shower with hot water and great water pressure. Clean and tidy. Massive, comfy bed!

Tidy but felt a little dated. Loud fridge might bother some but I slept through it fine. Our bathroom had no window and very little air flow even with the fan on so it was hard to circulate air through after a shower etc

The property is located at a side street away from the main State Highway 6, so it is more quiet, yet only a few minutes from the cafes/restaurants, petrol station, and Glacier and Mt Cook flight company. The best thing is from the property you can get an excellent view of Mt Tasman and Mt Cook with their summits covered with snow, and it's close to Lake Matheson. Our room was very spacious for a couple and the staff was very friendly, and the rate for our room was reasonable even though the property is a bit old.

Nice spot a bit off the main township, which makes it really quiet. Nice views from the rooms, great beds, very kind staff, spotlessly clean.

The wifi is really bad, and there is only little chance to cater for yourself foodwise (very limited cutlery/plates available), we have been to other motels with small kitchenettes.

Room was very clean comfortable bed but no mattress ok for coffee/tea, no cutlery and very small cups for coffee, and very poor brand of coffee. Staff was lovely, location very good and very clean

Poor in regards to tea/coffee facilities, no toaster etc to have or make yourself a simple breakfast.

Great location, Value for money

one of the room was booked 2 adults and 2 kids but all rooms had one large bed. we all 4 had to sleep on the same bed. May be manager should put extra bed on side for kids. There was no microwave in room we had to use the one in shared area.

High Peaks is in a good position just outside the small town of Fox Glacier, and is easy to find. My contact with staff was very limited, but everyone was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was excellent.

Our room was great - clean, large and spacious. The hotel (more correctly a motel) was clean and quiet. We liked the location - an amble to the main street and a short 4 min drive from Lake Matheson, which is stunning. The staff were very helpful and friendly!

I stayed at this hotel and it was really great! The hotel has all the necessary facilities, the room is spacious and bright, and it is very clean and tidy. The parking lot of the hotel is also spacious, which is convenient for parking. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the service is also in place. If I have the opportunity to come here again for tourism, I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again!
