Its always good to select a venue from previous reviews especially if they are complimentary ones, however, there's always that little excitement to see if something is as good as stated. Well Trading Boundaries was just that..... We used the hotel as a base for our visit to Lewes which is just down the road, but it is also on the doorstep for NT Sheffield Park and the Bluebell Line. We had a "loft room" in the new accommodation area off the patio/square which was clean, very comfortable and well maintained. The Indian themed decorations throughout are interesting as is the rest of the site. The continental breakfast was ample and tasty and the staff were attentive and friendly. So in all....a fine visit thank you.

Not a complaint, just an observation. Had we been staying longer, I think an extended breakfast selection might have been preferred.

The property is slightly unusual, a little quirky and really lovely. It was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. The property has an interesting recent history which is provided in a little book. The rooms are spotlessly clean and arranged around a beautiful courtyard in a quiet country setting. The staff/owners were very warm and welcoming. Breakfast was small but suited our tastes perfectly (yogurt and granola along with croissants and sourdough toast). The location also hosts music evenings so it would make a perfect getaway for friends. I highly recommend it. The added bonus was the beautiful homewares shop where I couldn't resist buying several items.

Just returned from a fabulous 4 night stay at Trading Boundaries. The loaction is perfect for travelling around and seeing the sights, from beach to castles and idealic walks. We were greated by lovely staff even though we arrived later in the evening. They were all amazingly friendly with smiles on their faces. Breakfast was lovely with freshly made granola cups, toast and croissants. Our room was great, large double bed and with the twin beds upstairs it was a peaceful haven for our young son. The shop is fabulous with some lovely, quirky things and we ended up treating ourselves with an item for our home. We had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing stay thank you, we highly recommend a stay here and we're looking forward to returning soon 😊

Lovely building with rooms finished to a high standard. Lovely conversion of I think stable yards, and a nice setting for the accommodation. Very comfortable double sofa in our family suite. Individual heating per suite was wonderful, helping my my chilly old Mum warm throughout our stay. Excellent location for Sheffield Park and the Bluebell Railway. Brilliant jazz Sunday lunch on the first afternoon of our stay.

I don’t eat much bread so the breakfast was a little challenging as it was fixed to a small granola/muesli fruit yoghurt pot followed by lots of wheat products. No cooked options like eggs were offered at this B&B.

The property is set in stunning grounds, which are perfect for dog walks. Sheffield Park is a stone's throw away for more excellent walks. The property itself is charming and decorated throughout with Indian influences; every last design detail has been thoughtfully considered. It's a photographer's dream. Breakfast is continental, and each element is of the highest quality. It comprises lots of local produce with especially fab coffee. This is easily the best accommodation I have booked through Booking.com in the UK.

Phone signal is intermittent, but whatsapp can overcome the issue.

The location was amazing. It’s really quirky as there’s a shop and bar/cafe as well as rooms - but it’s mainly a music and wedding venue. There are also lovely walks in the fields and forest behind it. Much nicer than staying at a big impersonal hotel. The staff were all really lovely which makes such a difference.

Only a couple of minor things. The rooms didn’t have a voile/net on the windows so anyone in the courtyard can easily see in. This meant that curtains needed to be closed most of the time which was a real shame on a nice day. Having nets that can be drawn for privacy would have made a huge difference. Also- I didn’t know the cafe and shop were only open wed-sun which would have been good just to make my plans around it. Not a deal breaker though!

We only had a brief 12 hour stay on our work trip so didn’t meet the staff in person but on the phone they were so very helpful and the room was lovely and they even left us some breakfast in the room the night before as they knew we were heading off early in the morning.

If I were going to be Uber picky, I would prefer if there was some sort of extra lock on the door - it was just a key and if unlocked the dog could push the door open. staying in hotels a lot that always makes me feel a bit more comfortable if there is an extra lock, but this is not really a complaint, more a personal preference. It was probably in my top 3 favourite places I have stayed in my years of hotel staying for work and it certainly hasn’t put me off staying in the future.

We really loved this place. Truly gorgeous and the cottage was fantastic and good value too. A peaceful lovely location. Easy to find and near to a campsite where family were staying. I loved the shop full of gorgeous Indian inspired furniture, handmade jewellery, fabrics, bags, gifts galore. the eating area was beautiful. very tastefully decorated on an Indian theme with authentic items of furniture there. Staff so very friendly and lovely. so much that was brilliant here. We'd want to return.

The mattresses were not very comfortable. The one in the double room was lumpy and bumpy; I guess well-worn. The two single ones in what is a kids' room/second bedroom, were not very comfortable' maybe cheap foam. Such a gorgeous place it is a shame that the mattresses let it down somewhat. Replace them and it would be truly perfect.

What a find! Hidden in plain sight Trading Boundaries is not your usual place to stay. The small number of beautifully-appointed rooms (and 4 holiday cottages) are part of a diverse offer that includes a small music and dining venue, a café, interiors shop, art gallery and wedding venue. Set in peaceful landscaped grounds there were plenty of places to sit out and enjoy the setting. Staff were very warm and welcoming. Breakfast was continental, served in the café or on the terrace. It does not offer dinner but there are lots of great local pubs and eateries suggested.

Great Welcome, to a lovely venue. Staff friendly and helpful throughout our stay.The room was stylishly decorated and clean, the bed was comfortable. Quality tea and toiletries. Pleasant courtyard setting with table and chairs outside. The Continental breakfast was a real delight, lovely to be served out on the deck. This was an ideal stop-over enroute to the coast. The pizza and prosecco event on Sunday afternoon looked and smelt wonderful, it was a shame they couldn't continue into the evening.

The view from our room was a bit marred by the function marquee, & net curtains would have given us some privacy. The room was quite warm, there was an oscillating fan, and although thankfully the windows opened, the catches wouldn't fasten securely on vent. If we were staying longer we'd have wished for some storage space, a mini fridge and fresh milk. There are few places nearby that serve food on a Sunday evening; our experience at the Griffin inn, a few minutes drive away was disappointing, but that's a different story.
