It was really homely and comfortable. The location was good and it felt like we were only a 20minute drive from everything although that might have been our poor navigation 😂. The apartment itself was clean and had a lot of facilities such as an oven, hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and small appliances. The beds were comfortable and cozy, even the sofa bed was nice to sleep on. We asked for a cot as one of us had a 21month old and cot provided although small was safe and easy to assemble. The hosts were really friendly and chatty to us on arrival (not sure if they had planned to be there when we got there however timing meant that our paths crossed). We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying there or even go back to the property in the future.
Our only small snag was that some of the glasses had a residue in the bottom of them however once they had been through the dishwasher they were all ok. The parking was a tad tight at times but that was due to other people who had parked there parking inconsiderately.

It was very spacious and comfortable, the staff were incredibly helpful when we could not find the location. Great location very close to major supermarkets, travel links and nice walks. Outside area was great for our pets.
Very minor problems but the doorknob on the bathroom and front door were broken which made them quite difficult to use - my mum got locked out of the flat and locked in the bathroom because of this. There was also a chair secured with a lot of loose pins that kept falling which was a bit of a worry for our dogs.

We were highly impressed by this property! It’s clear that lots of thought was put into the design while maintaining a homely feeling. Instructions for check in/out were clear and it was close enough to the centre for us to be in and out frequently but far enough away from the busy-ness of the city, so we had a perfect balance of an active/relaxing trip. This is definitely a property I’ll keep in mind for future travel to Edinburgh, I’ve recommended it to multiple friends/family members already!
There were a couple of things but all very small in the grand scheme of it all! The downstairs bathroom bin wasn’t empty prior to check in, and while parking was provided, because it wasn’t allocated it could be tricky to find space. Some facilities made noises e.g. the downstairs bathroom when any kind of water was running but as I said, all very small in the grand scheme of it all and the pros far far far outweigh these.

Our stay in Edinburgh was absolutely wonderful! The accommodation was perfect for our group, offering plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The layout was great for socializing, with a cosy living area and a well-equipped kitchen that made it easy to prepare meals together. One of the biggest perks was how convenient it was for those travelling by car. Parking was hassle-free, which made exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding areas incredibly easy. It was the perfect base for day trips while still being close enough to the city centre for sightseeing. As pet owners, we were delighted to find such a welcoming, pet-friendly place. Our furry friend was comfortable and happy, and there were plenty of lovely walking spots nearby. Overall, this stay exceeded our expectations. Whether you're travelling with family, friends, or pets, this is an excellent choice for a comfortable and stress-free visit to Edinburgh. Highly recommended!

An absolutely beautiful period house with all the amenities needed for family of four, plus a dog. Washer and drier are a nice addition, as we didn’t have to bring dirty laundry home. The location is ok. There’s various bus lines that could take us to the city center, the bus stop was just across the street and it took around 30 mins to get there. The parking was private (not street park) which was great. In front of the house there’s a lawn for our dog to do his business quickly, but for a long walk, a nice route by the river was just next door.
So some reviewers left this same feedback. There were 2 bed rooms (one upstair second floor, one on ground floor) plus one sofa bed on the first floor. The room on ground floor didn’t have double glazed window, and the main street was just 2-3 meters away from the window. So at night, if you’re a light sleeper, you would have problem with noise from the street. I’d definitely suggest to bring ear plugs, or sleep on first or second floor where there’s better insulation against noise. Not a showstopper for us as we will definitely return. Another one is access, there are quite steep stairs to go to different floor levels. so if you have issue with your knee, accessibility issue, or small children that might easily fall off the stairs, than this place is not for you.

In a convenient locality, close to a bus stop and a good Sainsbury’s. Very spacious, very clean. Good kitchen, and parking facilities.
The microwave didn’t work, and the bath drain was clogged. To be fair, if we had spoken about this to the property manager during our stay, they would have dealt with that - they were absolutely on the ball with communicating with us. Since we only used the room to sleep in for two days, it didn’t bother us so much, so we didn’t complain. Yes, we didn’t get any linen for the third bed - we were a family of three and had booked as such. That was a slight bummer. Again, our fault for not bringing it up during our stay.

Beautiful old house, shops close by, parking available, nice nature walk close by. Very nice apartment, clean, two bathrooms, equipped kitchen. There is a washing machine, but no clothes airer.
A lot of noise from the street through the door, there is no insulation. Noise from the apartment above, you can hear every step. The couch bed is not comfortable for sleeping. Half of the apartment is partially underground with windows on ground level.

A beautifully adapted historic building, very tasteful and generally comfortable. Great shower, nice kitchen w coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. Great and easy to use heating system. Staff on site daily in case of needing more towels, washer tabs etc.
Upon arrival, we had a number of issues with cleanliness, which were responded and resolved to satisfactorily within the hour. We would have liked more crockery and cutlery and more storage space.

Nice property in a great location for getting bus into Edinburgh. Supermarket in walking distance to pick up provisions. Lovely local Chinese restaurant we would recommend for a takeaway.
It didn’t bother us but if you are a light sleeper the noise of the traffic from out the front might be an issue. We did have some noise from the people above walking/moving things around on the creaky floorboards. Owner has been made aware of a few minor issues including the microwave not working, they quickly responded to say these will be resolved.

Such a spectacular apartment!!!! We stepped in as in a gallery... beautiful clean and cosy place, just what we need it for a family of 5. The host was prompt and really helpful at every question. Sadly, we had to spend only one night... but in future trips, Slateford House 1770 (Luxury Aprthotel by The House of Danu) it will be at the top of our list. We really recommend The House of Danu!!! Thank you so much!!
