Stayed for a brief period in the individual rooms. Rooms are spacious enough and the bathroom is decent size and clean. Hotel is near the center and really near the Bratislava Bus Station, so its perfect for those who are travelling multiple countries. The breakfast is also really decent, with different cheese, meat (sausages, bacon), eggs in all shapes, vegetables, fruits, juice, coffee and tea. There is different kinds of bread and pastry as well. Almost all staff spoke english (including cleaning) and all of them were really friendly. I went in the winters ending and there were enough blankets and sheets to spend the night. It well equiped for solo travelers, There is a hairdriyer, locker, coffee machine. I had a little trouble using the shower to get hot water at first, but once I got the gist, things flow nicely.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming, we were given a free glass of prosecco upon arriving and the gingerbread heart biscuits on the bed were a lovely little addition. The room was huge and had everything you could need. The cleaning staff were friendly and did a great job tidying the rooms. The room was warm, quiet and the bed very comfy. The hotel is located close to the city centre and is also a short walk from the beautiful blue church. Breakfast was included in our booking and was excellent, with a good range of options available and open until 10am. The hotel also sells magnet souvenirs. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I am ever in Bratislava.

Good value, good location. Very friendly staff. Because the hotel is so close to downtown, there are lots of breakfast options. Every time, we choose the hotel breakfast. Some reasons: a wide-spread assembly of meats, egg dishes, and especially cheese. Lots of vegetarian options. Nice yoghurt-porridge bar. Fresh-baked goods. Excellent coffee. Staff speak excellent Sloviakian, Czech, English and German. I suspect they can handle Italian and Russian quite well, from what I've overheard. It feels like a family business ... which means that all the staff genuinely enjoy working there and providing good customer service. For me the only indicator of a quality hotel is whether their staff want to work there ... Danubia Gate Hotel meets and exceeds that standard. Heck, I want to work there!

Narrow spots in our suite. It forced us to press up against each other when moving around. Wait ... I shouldn't say I didn't like that.

Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed, our ensuite was great with a large walk-in shower, fresh towels every day and our room kept immaculate by the most amazing housekeeping staff. Our balcony had a view of Bratislava castle, so lovely all lit up at night. Breakfast was so good, an amazing choice of tasty food and lovely staff on hand to serve you. The reception staff were also amazing, they went out there way to help you, nothing was any bother, it was always good(dobry) to have a chat with them and they recommended really good places to eat. We will return to Bratislava and we will definitely be staying at the Danubia gate 😀

Honestly, there was nothing we didn't like.

The room seemed a little old, but that did not correlate with bad experiences or anything! It was clean, everything I needed was there, and I had plenty of space to store my stuff. I slept well. The location is perfect, I could walk to the old town and all places I wanted, and it was a perfect starting spot for a morning run. If I did want to take public transport, the bus station was just a 2 min walk. Lastly, the reception staff was very friendly.

I asked for a breakfast package for the last morning, which was there, but compared to the actual breakfast I had the other days, it was not as great...

The last night there, or should I say last morning. Was awakened at 5.30 am with what sounded like someone walking the length of their room wearing deep sea diving boots continuously for 2 hours!! Couldn't get back to sleep. Breakfast was great, but on the last morning, I had to sit in a small room on my own because there was no room in the main area. Fitness room tired and dated. Room always hot and couldn't leave window open for the road noise. Only had a really small fan in the room.

We had a lovely 3-night stay at the hotel. We found the room comfortable and clean, and the buffet style breakfast was delicious with a great selection even for vegetarians. The staff were attentive and kind, and they even surprised me with a bottle of wine when they realised it was my birthday - such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. We also appreciated the location: we walked everywhere, and the hotel was a great starting point for exploring the centre.

Very pleasant staff (my wife speaks Czech, I speak only English and German) and they were very pleasant and helpful in all languages. Offered us a welcome drink, explained breakfast procedures, asked about parking, everything. The breakfast was excellent: accommodating for both big-breakfasters (eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans) and vegetarian/vegan options. Wide selection and interesting choices. Room was upgraded to a suite. Jacuzzi bath was a bonus. Suite had multiple TV screens (over the bed, on the wall, even in the bathroom. A decent desk for work (a requirement for me, even when it's a pleasure trip), and that was provided with a decent chair. A little note offered the loan of a laptop ... nice touch. Small fridge filled with mini-bar items. A kettle and instant coffee/tea was provided. (So cooking and on-site food prep would be limited, but that was not our need). Location was great. Ten minutes to downtown in a pleasant stroll. Just outside the inner city, but close. We had windows open, and the street noise was minimal. Birdsong in the morning. A bonus: opening the windows turns off the air-conditioning. Why doesn't every hotel do this?

A little dated, but not a problem. One small glitch: on one side of the bed, there was a plug for charging a phone, or plugging in a device. But not on the other side, where the telephone was. Not many folks need access to the hard-wired phone or the ethernet connection any more.

Excellent cleanliness from switft and efficient room cleaning service. I have never been in a 4 star hotel that was as quick and efficient with room cleaning as this one was. Certainly not in recent memory . In addition, within the room everything worked. Aircon, entertainment, ablutions etc.....

For me (but clearly not for others) the wifi was alittle sketchy. But then this may just have been my phone. You might also argue that extra facilities within the hotel was lacking.

Breakfast was excellent if a little congested but staff were very on top of everything. The location was very good. The hotel provided a lot of little extra touches which were very welcome and added to our stay. Overall cannot fault our stay in this hotel.

On arrival we had a small issue with the bathroom door which was quickly and efficiently dealt with. Felt that the outside of the hotel could have been better lit up.
