Oh, where do I even start with this gem of a hotel? Our stay here was absolutely magical and easily the highlight of our two-week European adventure. First off, the location was pure perfection. We were just a stone's throw away from the Pletna boats, which meant we could effortlessly hop over to Bled Island. And let me tell you, booking a room with a lake view balcony was the best decision ever. Picture this: sipping on hot drinks, rain gently tapping on the balcony, and the mesmerizing view of the lake right in front of us. It was like something out of a dream. The room itself was cozy and inviting. Opening the window at night filled our room with the crisp, cool breeze, making for the most peaceful sleep. The shower water pressure was wonderful - a small detail, but it made a huge difference in our overall experience. The entire place was not only clean but also beautifully designed. Every corner exuded charm and elegance. And oh, the staff! They were an absolute delight - friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant served us the best meal of our entire trip. The flavors, the presentation, everything was top-notch. It was so good that we couldn't resist driving back to Bled on a separate night just to have another round of that culinary masterpiece. And then there was the sunrise. Waking up early, we strolled right out of the hotel and found ourselves on a scenic lakeside trail. The mist floating over the lake as the sun rose was a sight straight out of a fairytale. In a nutshell, this hotel isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience. It's where memories are made, where every moment feels like a page out of a storybook.

Everything was perfect

Hotel Starkl is a lovely boutique hotel perfectly situated right on the shores of Lake Bled. The location couldn’t be better, just steps from the water, with beautiful views and easy access to the main attractions. The rooms are clean, quiet, and tastefully decorated, offering a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. We especially appreciated how peaceful it was despite the central location. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. We also had the chance to dine at the hotel restaurant and were just as impressed, the food was excellent and the ambiance matched the overall charm of the hotel. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, stylish, and friendly place to stay at Lake Bled.

We absolutely would recommend staying at the Hotel Starkl. The hotel was located on the Lake, we had a beautiful view of the castle from our room. It was slightly outside of the main city which to us made it even more desirable. Right across the road from the hotel was one of the 3 locations to catch the traditional boats which took you out to the island with the chapel. And it literally only took 8 minutes to walk to town on the path that went around the lake. We walked to the entrance to the castle, we walked around the lake all from Hotel Starkl. The staff was very professional, breakfast was nice and included. The room was very comfortable and roomy. I was so so happy with my choice of hotel. Oh yeah, you can swim in lake Bled right across from the hotel. Excellent experience.

The location is fantastic , very picturesque being on the lakeside for pletna rides to the Island . The town of Bled with more restaurants is a nice 15 minute walk and , if fit enough , you can walk further to Bled Castle . There is also an hourly bus service . Breakfast is excellent with good choices overall . The restaurant and bar are also great . Considering the hotel is only 3 star , probably due to room size and lack of elevator , I think the hotel is excellent quality , better than expected . There is help available to move bags upstairs . Really appreciated the lovely Rituals toiletries . Pricey but so is everything in Bled .

We had a poor welcome . We were an hour early due to getting an earlier bus , the room was ready but we could only enter if we paid 25 euros extra which we declined as we were ok about waiting . This seemed rather petty and unnecessary profiteering . May I suggest some decaffeinated black tea on offer as well .

This hotel was in a perfect location on Lake Bled and the staff were so kind and helpful. We had a gorgeous view of the lake, the air conditioning in the room was awesome and the beds were pretty comfy. We ate at the restaurant on our first night and the food was great! From an amenity perspective, we rented paddleboards and towels from the hotel directly, which was easy and convenient. We loved being able to walk out and go for a swim or relax on the banks. This hotel is a short walk to the main town with many restaurants and the castle. We loved our stay and would stay again!

Great location - 10/15 minute walk to centre of Bled and beautiful views We did not have a balcony but there was a communal balcony next to our room which was a nice touch Friendly staff Good breakfast selection and restaurant for dinner was lovely Comfy bed, good facilities

We arrived early (12pm) and were told the room was ready however still had to pay early check in fee - we have stayed in a few hotels during our stay in Slovenia which did not require the fee as the room was already cleaned. Would not mind if we had requested early check in in advance Control panel in the room was a bit confusing, not sure if we used it correctly

This property is so well located right across the street from the lake. We had a bit of a view of the lake from our room. It is located a bit of a distance from the main area of Bled where most of the shops and restaurants are located. There is a nice cafe located adjacent to the property but we did not eat there so can't rate the quality of the meals. The location does provide a quieter stay and boats to Bled Island are located right across the street. The staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful.

The property does not have an elevator or lift so if you are located on one of the upper floors and have heavy luggage, getting to your room is a bit of a challenge. We were located on the first floor and the desk personnel did help us carry our luggage up to our room.

Phenomenal location. Across the street are the Pletna to go to the island. From our Room 102 we looked out at the Pletna, the lake, and the castle. Small market down the street. Walking path around the lake across the road. Wonderful restaurant with good prices and attentive staff. Breakfast is great too. Room has A/C.

The room is small by contemporary standards (the hotel dates to 1928). Traffic around the lake can be a nightmare. We parked our car on arrival and didn't want to move it. Not much in the way of public transport. So we didn't even visit th castle.

It’s close to the lake. The included parking is wonderful. The bedroom and bathroom are tiny, however they clean and very comfortable. The balcony with lake view was very nice. The staff are very friendly. The gift voucher for a drink in the restaurant was a pleasant unexpected surprise. The restaurant meals were delicious! We are 3 adults and we shared the Meat platter for 2 the first night. And the seafood platter for 2 the second night. We liked the seafood platter better. We had plenty of food for the 3 of us each night. Our server Tina was very friendly and spoke excellent English. She even saved our bottle of wine for the second night for us! Make sure to try the Cream Cake. It reminded us of Cream Puffs back home. Breakfast both mornings was amazing! Lots of hot and cold items to choose from. They even made yummy Slovenian dishes for Easter morning! The colored eggs were especially pretty!

The hotel is on a busy noisy road

Staff were very kind and helpful. Included breakfast was also very nice to have. The hotel was located right in front of the lake so the views from my room was beautiful. The main downtown area was only a short walk away, which was nice for me since I didn't really want to deal with driving there and dealing with the traffic everyday. Parking spot was tight but I never had issues finding a spot for my car. 5 Euros/night for parking wasn't too terrible either. I ate a the restaurant twice and enjoyed every meal I got.

There were quite a few ants in my room.
