It had a nice view. Beds were with old down pillows and blankets. We are allergic so the last night we finally asked for hypoallergenic and they obliged. I wanted a mani-pedi and couldn’t get as they were short staffed or something. The shower was weird. Had to hold the nozzle. The breakfasts were bad. The coffee in the included breakfast bad. The pool and jacuzzi was nice. I had a nice massage there

Didn’t like down bedding that was old and filled with mite dung, dust and allergens. Didn’t like that I couldn’t get a pedicure anywhere. There was not room service or a clear understanding of how to communicate with front desk from room. Language barrier.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The view from the room was stunning, and the food was delicious. The rooms were well-equipped and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable. The check-in and check-out process was fast and smooth, and the location is excellent, with the lake only a 5-minute walk away.

However, there were a few things I didn't quite understand. The sauna in the wellness area required an additional fee, which seemed a bit unusual for a hotel of this caliber. The staff, aside from the reception, weren’t very friendly, and it felt like there was a lack of hospitality, perhaps due to language barriers or other reasons. Also, I was surprised to find that drinks, even water, were charged separately at dinner, which added to the cost of the meal. They even charged me for tap water—about 3 euros for a liter! This was quite inconvenient and certainly something I didn't expect at a 4-star hotel.

The hotel is very good, with incredible views of stunning Lake Bled. I would encourage anyone to get a lake view room, it’s impossible to be bored of the view of the castle and lake. The staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was a great way to cool down, and the breakfast had plenty of choice. It is just a short few minutes stroll down to the lake, where there are plenty of good restaurants and bars. We also visited Vignter Gorge which I’d say is worth a visit, although can be very busy. Better as well earlier in the year to see the waterfalls, in summer they are drying up.

Strange the balcony doors can’t be shut from outside, it meant leaving the door open if anyone was out on it, so bugs could get in. Be aware as well if you want to swim in the lake, which was wonderful and surprisingly warm, there are only a few areas where you can swim, and the best ones are at the other end of the lake. That’s a 3km walk.

Hotel Kompas was ideal for our short stay in Bled, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was nice and with plenty of options, and the hotel location couldn't be better - right in the heart of the town and only a couple of minutes from the lake. Parking was included in the rate, which was a bonus. An additional note of appreciation to the staff who helped me after realised I had left some belongings in my room at the Kompas, only after arriving at our next destination (2 hours away in Portoroz). The staff found my belongings, packaged them up and gave me a good recommendation to have them shipped to my next location - so a big thanks to the housekeeping and reception staff for that.

Our stay at Hotel Kompas was enjoyable. We were fortunate to have a room with a view overlooking Lake Bled and the Castle—it was lovely to admire the scenery from the balcony. The room itself was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The hotel’s location is great. It’s just a short walk to everything—local shops, a wide variety of restaurants, and of course, Lake Bled itself. Breakfast at the hotel was nice. There was a wide selection of both hot and cold options, including fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, and local specialties. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience at Hotel Kompas and would recommend it to anyone visiting Lake Bled.

The room did get quite warm at night, and the air conditioning didn’t seem to cool the room as effectively as we had hoped.

Very clean, convenient location and great breakfast. Beds are big and comfy. The gym is very well equipped to be a hotel gym! The views are incredible.

The waiter at the bar. Rude and arrogant man. Asked to try a sip of a wine sold by the glass before committing as it was Slovenian wine and didn’t know much about, to be responded with “absolutely not, what do you think this is, a wine tasting?” Then after seeing our reaction faces, proceeded to make “an exception” and attempted to let me taste it with a tea spoon, dripping everywhere, then put a coffee mug underneath the tea spoon. Shocked. You should pour a sip of wine in a wine glass and let the customer try if the bottle is open, the whole situation was ridiculous. We would have stayed for multiple drinks if he hadn’t been an absolute clown. Go and drink elsewhere, not worth the money or the time.

The bed was really comfortable. Hotel quality. The room was great and breakfast was a good standard. Hotel check in staff was helpful and polite. Parking was easy and included. For the price I would stay there again mainly because of the location and the parking and the gym.

Dog fee was high at 25 euro per dog per night. Balcony was too small to use. Room was very warm. Couldn’t turn down the heat. We had to sleep with balcony door open and there was traffic passing by in the night. The fitness center is old but great for a hotel gym. The trouble is it is not just for hotel guests. The public also seems to use it, including young children. There is a sign saying no one under 15, but there were 10 year olds in there playing around with the machines. There was a staff on duty who didn’t seem to care.

The hotel is very good and central. Front desk is friendly and helpful. We stayed at the room 805, the lake view was awesome from the balcony. Air conditioning was not working, we informed the front desk in the evening and they supplied a fan for the night. They fixed the air conditioning in the morning. Buffet breakfast has a large range,it would be great if they write the name of the food in front of the service dishes (there were mixed fried foods, and we needed to ask the ingredients)

The hotel is in a great location, minutes away from Lake Bled. We had a room with a view of the castle which was lovely. The staff were very helpful, helped us with our air-conditioning and gave us a discount code for attractions. The swimming pool is lovely with a really nice view of the lake and castle. The breakfast spread is a good variety. There is a supermarket and loads of restaurants within a few minutes walking distance. We had a lovely time in this hotel.

Comfortable beds. Spacious economy room. Helpful bar staff member. Location close to lake & restaurants. Swimming pool & outside lounging area.

The bar area needs some sofas beside the windows. If you have an economy room, without a balcony, you need to be able to sit somewhere comfortable other than the Reception area or the tables in the bar. Guests, like ourselves, would end up spending more in the bar if there were sofas to use on wet /cold days. We mentioned this to the lovely bar staff member & she said they too have requested this from management.
