Absolutely stunning! Our stay at The Grand Hotel Toplice at Lake Bled was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking view of the lake, which set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The rooms were well-appointed, offering a perfect blend of spaciousness and comfort that made us feel right at home. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and welcoming, creating a relaxing haven where we felt truly pampered. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect. Reception helped us with trips to Vintgar Gorge and even gave us a timetable for buses to/from Ljubljana as well as sorting out a minor problem with our airport taxi (a personal thank you to Thomaž, you were so helpful!). The restaurant staff were very attentive, we even had warm greetings from the housekeeping staff, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality. Dining at the hotel was a delight. The buffet breakfast was fresh, tasty, and wholesome, with a wonderful variety. The four course evening meals were exquisite, reflecting the high standards that permeate every aspect of the hotel. Each meal was a culinary treat that added to our overall enjoyment. The hotel's location on the lake shore is simply ideal. We loved waking up to the serene views and taking leisurely strolls along the water. The facilities were outstanding, with a luxurious spa, an inviting swimming pool, as well as having its own boat house, among other amenities. Each space was designed with elegance and comfort in mind, enhancing our stay at every turn. The decor and surroundings exuded luxury, creating an ambiance of sophisticated charm. In summary, The Grand Hotel Toplice is an absolute gem on Lake Bled, offering unparalleled views, exceptional service, and luxurious comfort. We were very well looked after and can't wait to return to this perfect lakeside retreat!

Nothing.

We spent 3 amazing nights at Grand Hotel Toplice on Lake Bled to end our 3-week trip to Croatia and Slovenia. This grand historic hotel is situated right across from Bled Castle and conveniently near one of the pletna boat launches to the Church of the Assumption island. It’s worth every penny to book a lake view room with an amazing terrace to sit and watch all of the serene activities happening on the lake during the day, and then to relax with a glass of wine and watch the sun set behind the castle at night. Truly magical! The breakfast buffet was served in a beautiful room overlooking the lake, offering a wide assortment, in addition to having the option of ordering from their menu. For our last evening, we dined on the terrace at their amazing Restaurant Julijana. Both of Julijana’s local and international tastings were outstanding, and we were pampered by Feri, their head waiter, and Marko. The hotel’s concierge and front desk staff are exceptional, each of whom reflected this 5-star gem. Our special thanks to Dejan Koren and Dimitar for all their help with booking our dinner reservations and car rental, and for their invaluable advice planning our itinerary. Both Marion and Anja were incredibly friendly and always eager to help with any requests or questions we had during our stay. And to Dejan Kodric, the hotel’s fantastic front desk manager, thank you for taking such good care of us! Every member of your staff is a credit to you and your wonderful hotel. We had been dreaming of our trip to Lake Bled for years, as the photos looked like a fairytale. Thank you for making our vacation dreams come true!

The view from our lake view room was incredible and really made the stay so special. Breakfast was also incredible. Everything you could ever want. The staff were attentive and super helpful. You get a lovely welcome drink. The restaurant Juliana is amazing so make sure you book ahead to secure a table. The sun loungers and being able to swim in the lake were absolute highlights. We loved it all.

The hotel while lovely is in dire need of a spruce up. It looks very tatty and tired in the main areas and room. There are lots of mosquitoes if you have a lake view room so I think some citronella candles would have helped on the balcony and the restaurant.

Good breakfast. All the food at the hotel was very good. Well prepared with quality ingredients. There is a half-board type dinner menu in the main restaurant which changes daily. There is also a gourmet type restaurant which looked great although we didn’t try it. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. It is difficult to fault this hotel and I confess to being extremely fussy and my husband is worse, except that the decor looks stuck in a time capsule. We were shown two rooms already renovated but not yet available to the public and they looked wonderful. The hotel is in the best location on the lake.

The hotel, which is classified as an historic building, is in need of renovation which it is going to get, starting in October this year. The outside looks poor in places. We had a room with a lake view which I’d recommend.

Staff were super friendly, and a perfect location, especially if you pay for a lakeside view - but that comes at a hefty price, as do all the rooms. Good breakfast and free hire of a rowing boat to get you over to the lake island (if you work at it !). Paddleboards also available- also free if you ask nicely. And within easy reach of all the town's bars and restaurants- and bus station for trips.

It is a very expensive hotel - so a heated indoor swimming pool would have been nice, for the cooler, wet days (I think they try and sell the cold pool in terms of dubious health benefits of natural (cold) lake water. The rooms are also beginning to look a bit tatty - which is clearly acknowledged as I understand that a complete renovation is pending in 2026. But fine if you need to visit before then.

The location was perfect, the service provided by the staff was incredibly good, the breakfast was unbeatable, and the stay — along with all the hotel’s amenities — was absolutely excellent

The cleanliness could definitely be improved. In our room, there were dust bunnies on the floor and in the corners immediately after housekeeping had cleaned. At one point, the fitted sheet shifted, revealing the condition of the mattress underneath — I was quite surprised by the lack of cleanliness. Mattresses should be vacuumed thoroughly to remove dust, food particles, and hair before placing fresh sheets on top.

The location of the hotel was fantastic with stunning views. The staff we very friendly and helpful . The breakfast menu had a good selection of hot and cold options and they catered for my husbands gluten Intolerence , unfortunately this didn’t appear to transfer to the evening menu so we didn’t eat in either of the restaurants . However a member of staff really went out of his way to make a gf open sandwich to eat at the lido which was very appreciated. The choice of food at the lido was limited in general . Having use of the rowing boats for an hour for free was lovely and the lido area was well managed. I also noticed the water was quality checked early in the morning in the sectioned off lido for hotel guests which was reassuring.

Our room backed onto the road which was quite noisy so next time I would pay extra to stay in a lakeside room. The bar wasn’t very flexible in the cocktails they made and wasn’t able to accommodate a classic cocktail like an espresso martini or ameretto sour and also didn’t offer gluten free beer which meant we spent little time there. I also thought closing at 10pm was a little early for peak summer season. If you have mobility issues there are a lot of stairs going down to the restaurant for breakfast as there isn’t a lift directly down .

Really nice facility and location. Staff and housekeeping incredible. Breakfast. Beach.

Cramped room. Really nice hotel but showing its age with peeling paint and cracked shutters on balcony. Faded carpets in stairways. Rotting bottoms on bathroom doors. Shower setup much less than ideal in a tub with half glass and side faucets. Not having a lot to park in yourself is not really 5 star kind of level. Price is quite high any way you look at it. No weight room available yet so many unused parlors and 3 saunas? It most definitely needs to be improved. I stayed because Rick Steves said it was highly rated

The staff were absolutely amazing from point of arrival through to point of departure. Special mention should go to the manager Dejan, the two other Dejans, Dimitar and Marion in front of house, who particularly provided us with such friendly and informative service - because of them we were able to see a lot more places of interest and beauty,. Also, not forgetting Nejice . They really all could not have done any more for us. We have the benefit of having stayed at many hotels around the world and this team are up there amongst the best for their service.

Really minor thing but would have preferred an overhead “rain shower” head rather than a handheld shower.

We had an amazing stay! Thanks to Tomaz Jastrobnik for the exceptional hospitality, he made us feel like home from the moment we entered the hotel! It was such a warm welcome and made the memorable impression we’ll carry with us ❤️ It’s worth mentioning that the entire team was just incredible. Honestly, every single person working at the hotel was exceptionally kind, polite, and genuinely helpful. They explained everything to us in detail, and we truly felt like we were in good hands the whole time. The hotel itself is located right on the lake, and the view is absolutely stunning — especially if you get a room with a lake view (which we definitely recommend!). You can even take a boat out on the lake for free for an hour, which was such a beautiful touch. We also had lunch at the hotel restaurant and were blown away — the food was delicious, and our waiter was outstanding. Super friendly and attentive. We really, really enjoyed our stay. Everything felt thoughtful and warm. This is the kind of place you don’t want to leave. Can’t wait to come back! 💙
