Vanessa and Derek are the absolutely wonderful hosts at this property and Vanessa could not have been more of a help to me and my partner if she tried . Help and advice was given to us freely about the area and what there is to do . I could not recommend this property enough, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay ! Thank you so so much !

Staying in this small family-run guesthouse near Hermanus felt like being welcomed into a home. The hosts were incredibly warm and made my stay feel cozy and personal. They gave me excellent recommendations, tailored for a traveler with limited time—exactly what I needed. They even shared a special spot for watching the sunset with private beach entrance. We had long conversations, and the whole experience felt truly special. I’m so grateful to this family and really hope to return one day.

Vanessa and Derek were the most wonderful hosts who were ready to help at any given minute. They are so friendly & never hesitated to make our stay 10 x better. The unit was clean, neat and cozy. It was perfect for our short stay. There's a lovely entertainment area which we could use to wind down as well as a lovely kitchen which we could use to prepare our meals. I would definitely recommend it to anyone passing by or traveling through Hermanus.

Vanessa and Derek are very sweet and generous hosts. They even let us use the key to the private lagoon which is gorgeous, especially for sunset. Total must-do when you're there. And they lend us an extra set of binoculars which was fantastic to watch the whales in Hermanus. The housing itself is a bit rustic. If it's windy you can feel and hear it inside but you have blankets to keep yourself warm and with ear plugs you can turn off the wind. We felt cozy.

I had a wonderful stay at Fisherhaven Traveller's Lodge. My room was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. The property is clean, quiet and safe. Vanessa and Derek are amazing hosts, very welcoming and helpful. The nearby Botrivier Lagoon and Rooisand Nature Reserve are excellent for hiking or walking, relaxing and birdwatching.

The ambiance and warm reception is absolutely beautiful and such a lovely peaceful energy that greets you when entering the space. Vanessa goes out of her way to ensure her patrons feel welcomed and well looked after. We will certainly return. Our room was neat and clean, breakfast was delicious. Thank you

Staff were super helpful and friendly. Vanessa went out of her way to discuss our trip and give us some tips. She also went out of her way to flow up after we left with more information. Very accommodating. Amazing value. Safe area with gated parking. No complaints!

The hostess Vanessa went out of her way to welcome us and gave us all the interesting tips in and around Hermanus for us to make the best out of our time. The garden furnishing is very cute and the water fountain attracts so many different species of birds. We had a winery safari tour and dinner at Benguela Cove and were looking for a nearby location to relax in the evening and the location of the lodge was more than superb to meet our needs. Vanessa enticed us to come back for the whale season so I am now planning for it! Thank you for warmly welcoming two of us who were already very merry from the winery tour! Baby, the dog, was so friendly too!

Load Shedding frequency which affected the location which disrupted the water fountain outdoors and disappointed the birds, but apart from that the lodge was basic but had all the important amenities and it was such a blessing for both of us to have overnighted there.

The hosts, Vanessa and Derrick were just fantastic! The room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities I required. I had not packed in my cellphone charger and they organised me a loaner for the night. I had to leave very early in the next morning (03:45 am) and they were very accommodating and even helped me with my luggage in the early hours of the morning. They really did go the extra mile for me and I will definitely use their establishment again.

Welcoming by hosts. Helpfully and pleasant people. Lots of opportunities to walk, nice estuary.

You need a car to visit the center and amenities of Hermanus. No shops or restaurants in 8 km distance. Taxi available, but from the center.
