Our experience at Schulphoek house was a wow from start to finish! Our room was fantastic with a large bathroom, shower with fluffy towels and a dressing area. The bedroom was tastefully decorated spotless and the icing on the cake was the full picture window view of the ocean which took our breath away. The staff were very attentive always pleased to help and nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are impressive with a delightful pool with lots of sun loungers. We decided to go half board and we definitely got value for money. If we were in that area again we would not hesitate to stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at Schulphoek for three days as our honeymoon. The facilities are modern and the spaces are exceptionally clean. Even more importantly the staff are superb - always friendly and approachable whilst always maintaining upmost respect and professionalism. This really is an awesome team that can be proud of themselves!

The breakfast offering was comprehensive and delicious, we did however find the lunch/dinner offering a bit light and would recommend a broader offering. Thanks Schulphoek, see you again!

We booked a room with sea view and it was excellent! The room was very spacious, curtains open automatically and you can enjoy the view. The location is excellent! They provide a shuttle service which is complimentary on the first day. The variety for breakfast was great as well, the food was amazing, we loved our stay!

They need to improve the cleanliness of the property. We had to ask the manager to change our bed late in the evening, because it was full of unpleasant stains. They said it was just a one time problem, but the towels were very dirty in our room as well as the towels in the sauna were not clean neither. We didn’t feel they clean the property well, but all the rest was amazing.

Initial reception at the front desk. Not that he was unpleasant or anything like that... it is just that he had too much to do and was stressed by multiple demanding guests. It was not his fault and he was welcoming. My recommendation is to have a little more support staff at times where there is a higher load. Also the communication between booking.com and the hotel was not good as our paperwork was in the wrong name and our rooms a bit mixed up.

Beautiful room overlooking the sea with easy access to the coast path. Exceptionally friendly staff.

The diner and breakfast service at table was a bit random; we were given diner menus then they were taken away because nothing on it appeared to be available! Then a shorter hand written list was offered that worked ok after some time. Probably an issue of staff training but nonetheless less friendly.

The view from the bedroom is just breathtaking. The staff and service was fantastic as they couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was great. A great massage spa and well appointed swimming pool. A highlight were the flowers and chocolates left in the room for my wife's. 40th birthday celebrations.

The dinner was average, however this is in comparison to all of the other outstanding points. Saying this, as everything else was way above expectation it was not easy to find fault.

Lovely guesthouse. Staff were really nice. Room was great and so worth getting a sea view room, wow. Breakfast was OK. Thankfully they had a free shuttle into Hermanus as it was not walkable although it didn’t start until 2pm, so we had to wait 40ish mins for Ubers. If we came again we’d stay in Hermanus but this is 10 mins out and the shuttle makes the value for money worth it

This has become our sanctuary in Hermanus - return visit - a tranquil and relaxing setting. Professional and friendly staff, exceptional well maintained facilities and rooms. Clean, luxurious and spacious bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast is of a very high standard and the views are absolutely breathtaking. Will certainly be back next year if not sooner! Also received a carwash from the local team ........

One of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. Firstly, the sea view room we had was exceptional. The views were our favourite part about waking up here, but it was also huge and very comfortable. Incredible value for money. The breakfast served is a level above everywhere! A la carte with daily specials and seriously delicious. Staff were perfect in every way - friendly, helpful. Couldn't fault them at all. There's also a complimentary shuttle to take you where you want to go which is an amazing touch. Very reliable and comfortable. Honestly this place blew us away. From the beautiful gardens to the people running it, we would return in an instant!!

The room was amazing, with a great view of the ocean. Nice big bathroom with a bath and shower. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious, with great options and good portions. The fruit, muesli and yoghurt was my favourite. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we stayed longer 😊

The only issue we had was with the TV and a few of the plug points not working. This was fixed immediately when I called to mention it, however, the issue persisted throughout our stay. This should be looked into for a permanent fix. It wasn't much of a bother to us, as we were out most of the time, so ignored it for the most part. However, it was a bit of a letdown when the TV went off during the rugby 🙈
