The hotel is very clean and the room had all advertised amenities. The owner is friendly and enabled a rapid check-in so I could enjoy my holiday. The room was lovely, had very contemporary look and feel, and was perfectly clean. The local area was well-maintained and felt very safe: one of the few places in South Africa I felt safe enough to walk around at night. I liked the setup with car parking and that I could come and go as I wanted. Breakfast was excellent and offered very high-quality produce.

The only thing I didn't like so much was that the room wasn't very dark at night. The curtains look good in the day time, but at night they let in a lot of light. It would be useful if staff could take a look at the rooms at night to identify light sources as I found this impacted sleep quality.

I felt at home from day one. I stayed for 14 days. The fact that one could lock your car inside the premises was great. The cooked breakfast provided a wide choice and my eggs were cooked to perfection. Another great point was the fact that I returned to an impeccable room each day. The bed was fully made up with clean towels in the bathroom, an electric blanket and a wide variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate to choose from. The room was spacious too.

Breakfast was fresh and served with friendliness everyday. The property was safe and easy to access without interference. The rooms are comfortable and anytime I needed them, the owner/family and staff were very helpful.

The power would go off without warning and there would be no way to contact the staff for extra lights or hot water. A schedule or some way of knowing would be helpful. The pool wasn't very well maintained and didn't seem that clean.

Breakfast was good, a great selection, well displayed with everything I love. Great space with interesting art and craft. Lovely host.I was very satisfied just as it is.This is our second visit to this property, it is still well maintained and we will be returning again on our return journey tonight Cape Town.

The accommodation itself is perfectly located within walking distance of the city centre. The breakfast is small but extremely tasty and the service was also good while everyone was very friendly.

Some rooms have a window facing the courtyard. Every time the main door is opened, you can hear it clearly. In general, the rooms are hardly soundproofed.

We were actually visiting from the United States, and my Dad booked this for us as a treat to explore Hermanus. We were delighted with Baleia Guest Lodge. The staff were very hands on and the addition of a full breakfast in the morning was an added bonus and it was fantastic. We will most certainly be back when we visit SA again.

The host family is doing a wonderful Job. Well secured and lovely building. Our room was very spacious with an extra room for the kids. The bathroom might need a little update though. Lush courtyard with pool invites to relax. The breakfast is amazing. Great selection of warm foods. Lovely arranged tables. In all: we highly recommend!

Bath room could need an upgrade

Lovely room with greenery at the back double window & double doors to the lovely courtyard. Pool area wonderful with comfortable sofas. A lovely quiet escape. Safe parking. Easy safe walking access to town centre.

Would have liked tea with boiling water, flask water not hot enough. Just a small thing.

A lovely property with the option of breakfast. In addition, there is also a microwave a refrigerator that guests are allowed to use. I didnt bring my plug converter but the landlady kindly lend it me.the outdoor courtyard with the pool was lovely and great to sit and chat with other guests.The town centre and old harbour are just 10-15 minute walk Both the mother and daughter are lovely.

The room didnt have a study table so there was nowhere to sit and work. Loadshedding is now frequent in SouthAfrica. But the wifi doesnt work when there is loadshedding. Also, rooms only have a small chargable lamp.

Only one night overnight, but perfect for my needs. Nice welcome, comfortable clean room, great breakfast. One minor thing to note was my room (at the guest entrance) was exposed to noise from guests returning from dinner, but not a major issue unless you go to sleep early.
