excellent location, secure property, nice walk to the beach, clean & nice part of Zinkwazi Beach, good & safe children’s play area, okay restaurant menu with thought given to vegetarians. Brilliant 3-bed, 2-bath apartment with kitchen, in & out dining areas and balcony has Braai.

very little not liked, but the hotel needs to move from merely providing good customer service to wowing people with good experience. So little detail stuff like checking to see if the guests are honeymooners or part of a business group. Food is good, nice selection, but dishes miss that final touch. For example the proper KZN hot curry needs a cooling cucumber/yoghurt dip with it. but I’m really being picky by saying this. The only true thing that the hotel must improve is their coffee. suggest investing in a proper coffee machine, train a couple of staff to Barista level and wow people with great coffees!

The two bedroom apartment was larger than expected. We stayed in the front unit at the top level, the view of the ocean was very beautiful. We enjoyed the gas grill on the stoep. The hotel is very close to the beach with a well kept walking path through the short bush section.

Zinkwazi does not have decent shops, so come prepared with your groceries when staying in the self catering units to save yourself a 40km round trip. There are some aspects of the hotel that shows it's age, however it did not bother us two much.

New facility with some minor ongoing construction which we were warned about.

No staff assistance with moving luggage up 3 flights of stairs to the rooms

Absolutely beautiful ❤️ We really enjoyed our stay and even booked an extra night. The staff were so helpful and really welcoming 🙂 Lovely getaway with family and so kids friendly. I highly recommend spending a getaway at anew ocean reef.

Not all days were sunny with great beach weather, an indoor area with pool table or relaxing lounge area with fire place and some games for the family would really be great. I would have also liked to be briefed on arrival as to what the facility offers especially gazebo at the beach. While sitting on the beach we noticed a gazebo was put up for another family and then enquired about the service. Once enquired we really received great feedback and were assisted with a gazebo as well.

The apartment was excellent. The view was amazing. Short distance to the beach. Kids loved both swimming pools and the beach!! Apartment was fully air-conditioned

There was no power for most of the stay. So the generator was used most of the time. The generator ran out of diesel a lot. Which means no power & no air con. Luckily they have a gas braai for cooking + a restaurant. The generator was very noisy. Restaurant was a bit expensive.

The facility is fantastic, Beach access was awesome! We will be back as my family loved the venue and area, hopefully next visit will yield 5 stars and all smiles! :-)

Few cockroaches in the room, shower floor didn't drain while bathing which was a bit dangerous due to slippery floor, this is due to poor tiling. I was particularly concerned as I'm recovering from a major back injury and I'm still battling with my stability.

The location is fantastic and the units are all very comfortable and well maintained. Units with ocean views are the best. Sitting on our veranda we got to watch a pod of dolphins swim past. The village of Zinkwazi has beautiful unspoilt beaches.

Although the food was all very well prepared and tasted great, I felt that for a four star hotel, the variety was lacking in the buffets. Definitely did not compare with other similarly rated hotels that I have stayed at.

The breakfast was Ok. The prices were high and at times the food arrived cold but other than that, the breakfast was fine. The location was exceptional. For such an isolated location, the establishment is missing a trick by having a good rather than exceptional kitchen.

There were renovations taking place when we were there which meant that there was some confusion with the parking arrangements. I have no doubt this will be an exceptional hotel when the renovations are done.

The hotel is located in the most beautiful area, the area and beach are beyond beautiful. The hotel itself was better than expected, rooms/apartment was much bigger than expected too. Rooms have aircon, WIFI was fast, and the generator powered everything in the apartment. The staff were amazing too, from reception staff, to restaurant and cleaning staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. We had an incredible family holiday.

There was nothing about the hotel I didn't like.
