I arrived at this place on somewhat short notice (a week or so booked in advance) without searching too much about alternative options, so my expectations were not so high. But what a place this is! Absolutely brilliant staff, good-sized bunks (almost as micro-rooms - I even had one with a window overlooking a terrace), and nice guests staying in (of course, now and then you may come across some "rotten apples," but they are dealt with very effectively by the staff). The cleaning staff were very nice, polite, effective, caring, and dealt with any query quickly (e.g., I asked for an extra pillow and got it in no time), changed towels when needed, bathrooms impeccably clean, etc. The kitchen and dining area is OK and a place for socialising - you can store your food and drinks in the fridges with freezers (plenty of room), cupboards and cook using microwave (no hot plates or oven). There are plenty of plates, mugs, bowls as well as spices, coffee and sugar, etc - all fee. For me, a real "jewel in the crown" was a top floor terrace (but there are 2 more!) - good for sunbath, relaxing, socialising or work (with an indoor open area too). And you have fabulous reception staff, people like Francesco - very friendly, helpful, but still professional and very efficacious. The supermarkets are close-by (5-min walk) and the bus stop *to* the airport is practically down the same street, 10-min walk from the hostel (NB: the direction *from* the airport is different). The popular city beach Postiguet is only 20-25 min walk, there are a lot of bars, restaurants and cafés on the way - although I recommend San Juan Beach which is about 20–25 mins either by local Bus (1.45 EUR one way), tram or metro. Anyway, I do sincerely recommend this place, grab it while you can :-D !
Everything was good, only perhaps you should consider planning your bathroom time as there are about 5 individual-use bathrooms with showers (one in each room and 3 ouside in the corridor) on each floor - they sometimes tend to be busy , especially around the check-out time and after return from the beach. Sometime you spot an ant or two :) but this is normal for this town and climate, no really any harm, just let them go around their own business :-D

I genuinely loved everything about my stay at Número Trece. The main hall with its elevated lounge area had such a welcoming vibe, and the kitchen was super well-equipped. I especially appreciated the terrace on my floor—it was a perfect spot to relax. The bed was comfortable, the showers were clean and modern, and the staff made the experience even better. A special shoutout to Francesco—he was incredibly friendly and engaging, and I had some great conversations with him. Ciao Francesco! Overall, an absolutely amazing stay. I’ll definitely be coming back!
If I had to mention anything, it would just come down to personal preferences. I’m not a huge fan of the push-button showers that only run for 30 seconds at a time—it works fine, but I prefer a continuous flow. Also, I didn’t realize there were no kitchen fobs available to use the stove, but I got creative and managed to bake some eggs in the microwave—worked out in the end, and gave me a laugh! One small suggestion: it would be great to offer an extra towel, as I found just one a bit limiting. And maybe earplugs could be a helpful touch for lighter sleepers. Just minor things, though—nothing that took away from an otherwise fantastic stay!

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in - the staff was so friendly, beds were private with a small storage of your own (it felt safe as a solo female traveller), the washrooms were squeaky clean despite being shared + the fee tea and coffee corner was a bonus!
The location was a bit far from the beach but given the infrastructure if the city, it's really easy to get around on foot

The room was perfectly sized, featuring large windows and a balcony that added to its charm. The kitchen was well-organized and fully equipped—even including an espresso machine! The staff were exceptional, with special kudos to Batman for going above and beyond. Highly recommended!
Although the bathrooms were really clean, the shower water wasn't warm enough, which was especially inconvenient during winter. Additionally, you had to hold the shower button continuously for the water to flow.

This place is great! The staff are so friendly, the facilities are clean, and for a hostel, the beds are quite private! This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in!

The sleeping areas are very comfortable and there is lots of space to put your things. Bathrooms are clean and layout is great because there is space to get dressed after a shower. The terrace is a lovely place to siesta and all main monuments and the beach are easily walking distance.
This hostel is great if you are just looking for a place to sleep - but it is not like other hostels where they organise group activities or have suggestions of what to do during your stay. Not a bad thing, just something that is good to know depending on what type of accommodation you look for.

Pretty good location, close to the city centre and airport bus station. Staff was lovely, accommodating and helpful. Common areas are nice. Kitchen is well equipped (except for the oven and cooktop but that's clearly stated and visible in the pictures) and clean. Rooftop terrace feels a bit underused, but it's nice to be able to sit outside. Room was enormous for the hostel type accommodation. Even got a fresh towel on my second (or third) day staying there which is really appreciated.
All the hairs on the bathroom walls 😖 though curiously not in the showers 🤷 I can't even understand how it ended up all over the walls. I'm sorry, but this really bothered me even though the rest of the hostel was very clean. The whole pod like concept is great and there's really a lot of room in your bunk, but on the other hand, upper bunks are really high and a bit of a hassle to climb up. Some low volume music in the lobby/terrace would be nice, just for some background noise, nothing too loud, the complete silence in the common areas felt really odd. Also some additional hooks or something where you can leave the towel to dry in the rooms would be nice.

The hostel is located 20 min away from the central beach, 15 min from the old time, and approx—30 minutes from the central bus station. There is a supermarket 5 min. away. The property has a common area with seating places both on the first and third floor, whereas the internet connection on the first floor is really bad, whereas on the third floor, it is stable! The kitchen is available too. However, no option for cooking food. There are enough bathrooms throughout the whole hostel. The bedrooms are spacious enough, and so are the beds. It is a capsule bed which makes it slightly more isolated from the outside noise. Free towels provided
There is no stove, and no kitchenette, so cooking is not possible in the kitchen; The internet connection on the first flow was a disaster.

It was really a good hostel, great facilities and well maintained. The room was spacious, comfortable and quite. Next to each bed, there is a cupboard to store things and a space to put stuff under the cupboard, which was very convenient. Rooftop terrace to relax, room has terrace with clothesline to dry. If I ever come back to Alicante, I will definitely stay at Hostal Numero Trece again, 100%.
There was no cooktop in the kitchen, it seems there were two in the past, and I guess they were removed to maintain cleanness(?), I guess it's normal people will likely to create more mess with the ability to cook on a cooktop. Also, the website says free coffee and tea, but weren't provided....a bit disappointing. I understand not every hostel provides these, but if that's the case, you could just update the website, and no need to create false expectations.
