Luxurious hotel close to the Centre of San Sebastian with amazingly comfortable beds and delicious breakfast. On the whole the staff were amazing and very friendly. Will definitely return, as we loved it.

The hotel advertises that it is dog friendly and as is to be expected dogs are not allowed in the eating area or bar ,which we totally understand. However , some man on reception told us we weren't allowed to drink our drinks from the bar in some of the other sitting areas around the hotel where we had wanted to enjoy our drinks with our two dogs before venturing out for the night, whilst waiting for the rain to stop. When we asked other staff at reception if we could do this they said ' yes, of course you can' and we indeed noticed others doing this. It would appear that this specific man didn't like the dogs being in the reception area. A place either is Dog friendly or not ( with the aforementioned exclusion of eating areas ) and all staff need to be on the same page regarding this.

Super hotel, fab roof top bar & pool. Location is really good with a lift that takes you down the hill to street level which sounds weird but really works. Room was lovely, nice bathroom and fantastic big & open underground car park giving high level of security which is important if you are driving around Spain as we were and the car is full to the roof! Very impressed with the Staff, all of whom were very polite and efficient. What an amazing place is San Sebastian - just full of great tapas bars and restaurants as well as vermut and Txacoli bars - 10/10.

To get to the Hotel you have to drive up a one way street the wrong way - Even having checked all details i cannot see any reference to this but once you overcome the fear that you are doing something wrong, it is fine and the hotel entrance is good. Not a complaint but having knowledge & being prepared is really helpful.

The location of the hotel is super good, it is located on a little hill that oversees the sead, however it can be reached by an elevator from the street level. Main Train Station and also Bus Station are in close walking distance. The staff was very friedenly and the rooms are clean offering a lot of storage and mini bar. Especially the shower was nice and roomy.

The rooms are a bit dark. We also had some problems with the heating that did not work in the beginning. Later we found out that the heating (air condition) is only working when the key is placed inside the room, which is a petty during winter time because the room was often much to cold for us. Also the hotel offers a Sauna and indoor pool, however this services are only available for an additional charge which is 19€ per person and per hour. Compared to the total room price and compared to other hotels this services is much overprices. My assumption was that is given for free or at least for multiple hours at this price.

Great value beautiful hotel with lots of amazing history including it used to be a convent secret passages leaves into the town. The staff been saved backwards to be really supportive and kind. We had a room on the first floor super clean and comfortable bed. We paid the little extra to have our talk with us. We had an electric car at the church was free so we didn’t resent paying the money for the car park. We definitely will come back ‘

I like everything, but perhaps the room decor in dark green and dark Furniture is a little bit gloomy but it was a rainy day and I felt cosy. I get that they probably had that so fitting with the vibe of their hotel.

Amazing hotel, truly one of the nicest places I think we've stayed on this trip. Superb location, with breath-taking views over the city and sea but with an elevator that takes you from the lobby down to street level (!). Very convenient after a night on the town! Amazing staff (thank you again Jon!), a real home from home. Great recommendations for restaurants and local activities. Exceptional facilities and features throughout the hotel (and the room), superb attention to detail everywhere you looked. Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, superb views from the terrace, an underground car park (hoorah!) and a several relaxing lounge areas to just sit and relax. Would definitely stay again, such a beautiful town & such a beautiful hotel.

Nothing, couldn't fault it at aqll & look forward to retruning.

This is a superb hotel. I chose it because we needed an overnight stay with secure parking, dog friendly, close to the centre of town and at a reasonable price. Catalonia Donistia did not disappoint. The car parking was underground and easy to find with the instructions supplied. Our large dog was very happy, and was provided with a bed and bowl in our room. The room was spacious with a super view, comfy beds, immaculate and very well designed. Great walk in shower. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The walk to the beach is about a 6 minute stroll on the flat (old town a little further) as there is a brilliant lift and secret underground tunnel that brings you out at street level otherwise it is quite a steep hike up to the hotel......bonus! We were not able to take full advantage of all the facilities, and didn't have breakfast due to an early appointment, but we will definitely return for a long weekend (without the dog) as it is such a beautiful hotel. FYI.....parking and dog both attract additional fees, and dogs are not allowed in the bar or restaurant area (but you can leave them in the room or your car)

5-star hotel near everything that San Sebastian has to offer. Only four blocks from the beach, but high up on a hill. Lifts and pathway to get down to street level are easy to navigate. Fantastic rooftop bar that overlooks all of San Sebastian. Main restaurant served a great buffet breakfast and one night, we stayed in and had the 8-course degustation menu, which was incredible. Hotel staff were fantastic. There is a very convenient public laundromat next door as well so we could wash and dry our clothes. Absolute perfection.

Everything was perfect.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Since the top floor pool wasn’t open at this time of year we would have liked a dip in the pool at the spa but it would have needed to be early in the morning as we wanted to have breakfast and get out to see the city as we only had 2 days . It would have been good if the spa was open at least by 8am rather than 10am so we could do this and then got on with our sightseeing.

The spa pool being open early in the morning 7am or 8am would have been better.

Beautifully converted old building. Our room was extremely spacious, even though it was a standard room, with little seats in the window looking out to sea. Decorated to high standard. Amazing room (334 I think...) on 3rd floor all by itself looking out to the sea - we could identify our exact room from the street.

The price - we were staying during the film festival, which may have pushed things even higher. We didn't have breakfast - but near to lots of little shops and we took our breakfast back to our room. A little walk to old town - 20 mins - fine for us, but maybe nor for others.

Breakfast was outstanding. The room (502) was very nice with good beds and excellent lighting and air conditioning and noise reducing windows. Parking in garage with direct access by elevator to the hotel was easy but rather expensive (€24). The front desk staff was very helpful. We had a perfectly prepared “cote de beuf” for dinner - BIG kudos to the chef. Perfect WiFi connection. Super range of tv channels (both BBC & CNN). Pet friendly (meal & water bowls + blanket in the room), but expensive €25 for an 8 kg no fur-shedding dog.

Unfortunately the roof pool and roof bar were closed for the season from Oct. 1st to May 1st. It would have great to use some time there. A huge group of Americans entered the restaurant for dinner and they were so noisy that it was impossible to have a normal conversation at our own table.
