The hotel was located a 10 minute walk from the bus station (if arriving by bus). It is about a 15 minute walk from the old town. The streets between the hotel and old town are lined with shops and beautiful buildings. Across the road is a mini supermarket and bars/restaurant. They have a restaurant at the hotel. The room I booked was small and modern. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the side table was more of a small shelf. There was tea and coffee facilities, fridge, safe and tv. The windows open and the air conditioning works well. The bathroom was quite spacious, with several towel hooks and generous bench space with the addition of a shelf underneath. My hairdryer was not working unfortunately. (I didn’t report this to reception). The gentleman on reception on my arrival was warm, friendly and efficient, , he provided me with a map and circled the major sights in relation to the hotel and explained how to get to old town.

Great small hotel centrally located and convenient for everything. Nice neighborhood with bars and restaurants. Rooms were lovely with a small balcony overlooking the nice streets. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Really convenient underground car park (not owned by the hotel) right beside the hotel ideal if you have a car. San Sebastián is a fantastic city and this is an ideal base, glad we stayed in this area rather than the old city.

The property was in an excellent location next to the cathedral and in the heart of the shopping area. Only 10 minute walk to the parte viejo known for its pinxos and culinary scene. The front desk staff was all exceptional providing us a kind welcome and introducing us to all San Sebastián had to offer with walking directions and a map. Even the waiters in the cafe on the ground floor were so wonderful with our young baby we were traveling with.

I enjoyed everything about this property

a nice hotel, located in the lively shopping area of San Sebastian. the nice boulevard along the characteristic bay, the beach, many restaurants, the marina and the old town are within walking distance. the rooms are very well insulated so we were not bothered by traffic noise and construction work.

the rooms are rather small. we first had an awkwardly arranged room in which we could hardly fit our suitcase. luckily the friendly receptionist gave us another room, which was hardly bigger but with a better and more practical layout. the public parking near the hotel is just terrible (even by spanish standards). no ventilation, no clear signing to, for example, the payment terminal and on top of all no elevator. unfortunately there is no other option when arriving by car.

- Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly - Very clean room, very comfortable beds. We needed to ask for another 2nd pillow as the one provided was too flat - Rooms were well-designed and everything was provided for. They were better than I had expected. - Last but not least, this hotel was very conveniently locate and close to the train and bus stations

I cannot think of anything really except that the BBC English channel didn't have any sound. The only English TV channel was Al Jazeera

A fantastic hotel in a great location in the city centre. The staff at reception were excellent and promptly answered all queries before we arrived and fulfilled all our requests.During our stay all reception staff went above and beyond to assist us in every way.All staff were extremely professional at all times.Overall a great hotel and a fantastic stay in San Sebastian

More storage for clothes would be helpful

The building is beautiful and our room, though not large, was more luxurious you would expect of a three-star hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. We were happy to have air conditioning because it was unusually warm when we were there. The location is perfect. The hotel is within strolling distance of the old town and is in a pretty neighborhood with good food options if you want to avoid the crowds. The Buen Pastor parking garage is just steps from the hotel. We would happily stay at Villa Katalina again and would recommend it to others.

The breakfast was good but expensive and there was no fresh fruit. We had better breakfasts at less expensive hotels in northern Spain.

Beautiful decor, friendly day time receptionists. Comfortable bed and in room facilities. Nice strong working shower. Aesthetically pleasing and great location. Working lift. Loved the intimate small hotel.

Single room was small but as described in the description. The rooms were not as sound proof as I would have liked for a hotel room. I heard a lot of banging, moving around from the neighbouring rooms. Night receptionist seemed a little disgruntled and rude. Shame they can't be as friendly as day time gentlemen. But maybe I just caught her on a bad day.

This was the last stop on our 3 week trip around Northern Spain and it was the best hotel we stayed in. The room (we had a corner room, well worth the extra cost) was excellent. The air con worked a treat and there was no noise at all at night. We were with in walking distance of both beaches and the old town as well as the excellent range of restaurants and bars. There was also a supermarket nearby. The staff were friendly, approachable and professional. A fabulous stay!

Obviously out of the control of the hotel but the parking, which was close by, was very expensive.

We chose a corner room with two types of balconies which we loved. The bed was comfortable and the air con was quiet and effective. Location was good.

It was a little bit noisy outside but not enough to stop sleep. We had breakfast at the hotel twice (due to torrential rain) and the man serving breakfast wasn’t overly friendly and the quality of breakfast was quite low. Better places to eat elsewhere.
