We were given one of the best rooms in the hotel, right at the front with a large balcony overlooking the bay. The hotel is at the end of the promenade with easy access to all amenities. All staff were extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful.

We were surprised there was no USB connection in the room (it didn't matter, we had our own). The shampoo, shower gel etc were in refillable bottles (good) but which were difficult to use. The policy of changing the sheets every 2 days is unnecessary, we refused this option. The breakfast area is a bit cramped and serving staff had to lean over guests (no other option) to refill the dishes.

Such a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Our Grand City Room was huge and comfortable, the most enormous bed we've ever had in a hotel. The location is perfect. It's next to the beach and just a few minutes walk to the old town and all the best restaurants and pinkxos bars. Our friends had a sea front room with the most beautiful view. We would definitely stay here again.

The bar/restaurant is a huge space which is far too bright and lacks ambience. It feels a bit like an old people's home - such a shame because the staff are fabulous and it's well priced. We didn't eat in the hotel because of this.

I liked the location with its closeness to the beach, the port and the Old Town. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bed linen was soft and of high quality The bathroom was spacious, clad in white marble with a modern toilet with an inbuilt remote controlled bidet function and soft night light at the back of it. The wardrobe was spacious and the in-room safe was easy to set up. The hotel’s original historic decor elements were nicely preserved.

My city view room had a desk and a chair positioned at the foot of the bed with only 50 cm of space between them making it a tight squeeze to sit at the table and pass by to reach the balcony window area. The room was overlooking an uninspiring building site. There was no coffee machine, only a kettle, and the tea and coffee sachets supplied were very basic and rationed to two per day. I wasn’t too keen on the scent of the liquid soap supplied in the bathroom so used my own. There were tooth brushes and mini tooth paste sets supplied but no other cosmetic kit i.e. shower cap, make up removing pads or ear bud cleaners.

I made a last-minute decision to visit San Sebastian recently and found this hotel on Booking.com. The off-season rate was very reasonable and the hotel had parking (for a fee, but in older cities where parking can be hard to find, it's worth every penny!). I was instantly enamored of the place--it's lovely inside and out. More important, the staff was amazing. They booked a table for me at a local restaurant that turned out to be divine and were just overall very friendly. I highly suggest paying extra for the sea-view room. Watching the light change on the bay as the sun moved across the sky was wonderful. I slept with the window open one night to hear the waves. Highly recommend this hotel.

The restaurant could improve. For the city standards the dinner was way below standard. The only menu available was the festival menu. The food had been prepared hours before. Shriveled vegetables lack of flavour.

The location and the view is amazing. the rooms are very nicely decorated, the beds very comfy and you feel indeed that this is a luxury hotel. The breakfast buffet was also great.

On arrival they told us that there is a parking space next to the hotel. However, none of the staff knew where and how we can charge the car. It turns out there is a public parking next door, however, like with most public parkings in spain you need a local app to charge the car. And noone at the hotel could provide info on how to charge. Also, despite the great breakfast buffet, no one told us at the entrance that it would cost 27 euros pp. I mean, its also my fault that didn't check but in most hotels they mention the cost before deciding to enter the room. Breakfast was really good and the restaurant view great. But with 27 EUR in San Sebastian you can taste some really top notch dishes.

Excellent location, right on the beach front and a stones throw from the old town. The room was spacious, the decor was fresh (particularly the bathroom which was pristine) and overall a very comfortable room. The restaurant/ breakfast room is newly refurbished, with beautiful, modern interiors and has fantastic view across the bay. A shout out to the concierge Leire, who was so welcoming and friendly and could not be more hopeful. Definitely recommend stopping by to have a chat!

Nothing, it was all good

The best location: in front of the beach, close to the old town. Very easy parking, we booked a place in the garage from the hotel. Great bar overlooking the sea. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very helpful and efficient staff

We booked a meal in the hotel restaurant which looked lovely on the website. It was my partner's birthday I wanted a special venue. Sadly the usual dining room was unavailable and we ended up eating in the bar/breakfast room, which was a disappointment. But great food.

The property was well situated in San Sebastian with easy walking distance to many eateries, shops and important architecture. We really enjoyed the staff (but especially the concierge - Izaskun) as they were very helpful with all questions and needs. The food on site was very good though there were many options for food and drink very close by

Although the property inside and out was fabulous, the interior doors of all hotel rooms were massively heavy yet beautiful. And throughout the night and day as well, the doors were slammed causing reverberation in many rooms down the hallways. Not only were many guests oblivious to silently closing the doors, the housekeeping staff was equally negligent in that need as well. It was quite annoying for our week long stay that actually warranted using ear plugs at night to sleep.

We loved the beautiful bar area overlooking the promenade and the wonderful bar staff. Our bedroom was clean in fact the hotel should pride themselves on how clean everything was.

The initial experience with the receptionist who booked us in was fairly poor but this was not the case with everyone else we encountered during our stay.
