The view from our room and our balcony was absolutely breathtaking. It was very central and walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was nice, especially the concierge. The restaurant downstairs was great. They provided towels for the beach.

When we got to the room, there was an empty beer bottle on our balcony. And there were a pair of socks in the closet left behind my another guest. Although the room appeared very clean, this was disappointing to see and assume that the room was not thoroughly picked up.

I specifically chose this hotel for its location. I love being able to just walk out of my hotel and be on the beach, without even crossing a street, and this hotel was perfect for that. We were able to hang out on the beach or take a nice walk into town. The older part of San Sebastian is right nearby, and there are some beautiful churches as well as great shopping and plenty of restaurants. The staff at the hotel were very kind and accommodating when we arrived too early to check in. They put our luggage away and we went to take a walk and find lunch before going to our room. I got the feeling that families have returned over and over to this hotel. It has traditional style, class, and comfort, and I would very willingly return.

This is just a minor complaint, but I am a very early riser and my husband is not, so I would have loved a coffee maker in the room. To be fair, there was an electric kettle and tea bags in the room, but maybe some Nescafe packets of instant coffee could be added. I don't need anything fancy, but I love a cup of coffee before I ever get dressed and leave my hotel room.

Fabulous view from our room of the whole beach. The room was spacious with plenty of cupboards and shelving, and even enough space where you could put your suitcases, so you didn't have to look at them all the time, and be reminded of your imminent departure after your stay! The bathroom was fab too. Loads of hot water, plenty of products and spacious shower with a big shower head. A nice touch was having an inner door to the sleeping part of the room so you didn't have to hear all the inevitable sounds of people coming back late or leaving early, nor the sounds of the housekeeping team hoovering outside your door. The second door was a very effective barrier to all that.

It was hard to find a place in the bar around 6pm which is "drinks time" for us. And even when we did eventually sit down, the service was not good. One day we sat there for 30 mins and no one came to take our order. This happened twice at the same time, so we gave up. It also seems like a pity that just when you want to sit outside on the "extended" bar/terrace area, they shut it up! This happens around 9pm each evening. Inside the bar at the later time was fine though. Easy to get a seat and a drink and service was lovely, friendly, generous and efficient. However the atmosphere wasn't very cosy due to the bright lighting which reminded me of those old fashioned fluorescent lights which people used to have in their kitchens in the 70s - like an operating theatre!

The bathroom was large, which was very nice. Bed was comfortable.

We were in a wheelchair accessible room and the bed was so big in the small space that the chair had to be wedged between bed and wall to access the bed. Moving to the other side of the bed or to the window was not possible. Having a smaller desk and removing the green chair would help. Having a smaller bed would help. The toilet in the bathroom was also too close to the wall (not much you can do about that now). It took us 4 hours the first night trying to find a new way for my husband to mount onto it. Not all disabilities are the same (and hotels can’t really be expected to predict every situation) so these are just suggestions to make it better .

We were given one of the best rooms in the hotel, right at the front with a large balcony overlooking the bay. The hotel is at the end of the promenade with easy access to all amenities. All staff were extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful.

We were surprised there was no USB connection in the room (it didn't matter, we had our own). The shampoo, shower gel etc were in refillable bottles (good) but which were difficult to use. The policy of changing the sheets every 2 days is unnecessary, we refused this option. The breakfast area is a bit cramped and serving staff had to lean over guests (no other option) to refill the dishes.

The property is beautiful! We rented a room with a view of the bay. The room was very spacious and had a modern, updated bathroom. There were double doors that opened up to a Juliet balcony. There was a sitting area in front of the doors so you could relax, enjoy the views and listen to the sound of the waves. The room was cleaned daily and they provided turn down service complete with chocolates on our pillows. In addition to being close to the beach, we were a short walk from old town and near the shopping area. The location was perfect!

Nothing! Everything was great.

Superb location, only a couple of minutes from the old town and a few steps from the beach. The parking in the hotel’s reserved area in the underground car park also works well as you get a fob that allows unlimited exit and re entry for the set price rather than paying each time you go in and out. The facilities in the room were excellent and the hotel has combined an old word look with modern touches very well

The room was a little bit small and the sea view was on a diagonal rather than being in one of the rooms facing directly onto the bay.

It was absolutely phenomenal! This is one of the rare place that pays attention to every detail of your experience. Our host Mina is absolutely a treasure and made our stay a five star experience thanks to her hospitality and dedication. Every day she found new ways to serve us the most perfect French breakfast. She's a very warm and kind person and a great partner for conversation. The property as well is a dream house. My wife was complimenting every decision made with the internal design and fixtures. They've made it feel so warm and welcoming. We're looking forward to coming back and recommending it to our friends and family.

Such a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Our Grand City Room was huge and comfortable, the most enormous bed we've ever had in a hotel. The location is perfect. It's next to the beach and just a few minutes walk to the old town and all the best restaurants and pinkxos bars. Our friends had a sea front room with the most beautiful view. We would definitely stay here again.

The bar/restaurant is a huge space which is far too bright and lacks ambience. It feels a bit like an old people's home - such a shame because the staff are fabulous and it's well priced. We didn't eat in the hotel because of this.

I liked the location with its closeness to the beach, the port and the Old Town. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bed linen was soft and of high quality The bathroom was spacious, clad in white marble with a modern toilet with an inbuilt remote controlled bidet function and soft night light at the back of it. The wardrobe was spacious and the in-room safe was easy to set up. The hotel’s original historic decor elements were nicely preserved.

My city view room had a desk and a chair positioned at the foot of the bed with only 50 cm of space between them making it a tight squeeze to sit at the table and pass by to reach the balcony window area. The room was overlooking an uninspiring building site. There was no coffee machine, only a kettle, and the tea and coffee sachets supplied were very basic and rationed to two per day. I wasn’t too keen on the scent of the liquid soap supplied in the bathroom so used my own. There were tooth brushes and mini tooth paste sets supplied but no other cosmetic kit i.e. shower cap, make up removing pads or ear bud cleaners.
