It's a basic functional B&B hotel on the outskirts of the city centre. The room was big enough for the 2 of us staying one night. We used the city buses to get around and they are truly plentiful and regular with a bus stop virtually outside the hotel, and for just under a flat rate of €2 very affordable. You must take the time and effort to go up the Furnicular for one of the most stunning views in Europe (in my opinion)

The air con in the room was not working and the ceiling fan only just about moved the air around. Also no blackout curtains. Our room had a street lamp right outside and it was almost as bright in the room with the lights off as with them on.

The location was in a great neighbourhood of Gros, short walk or bus ride to the cafes and bars of Gros and the Old Town. Very quiet, good light blockout. Nice linen and towels. There is a lift if you need it (its slow, but we used it to take our bags up and down to the 3rd floor). Good size balcony with table and chairs. The 10Euro breakfast buffet was pretty good, loads of pastries other carbs and cured meats and a couple of sliced cheeses, pre cooked boiled eggs in shells. Coffee is self serve via a pod machine. Small room size wise, but bonus was that there was room to store suitcases under the beds. Front desk staff had limited English (we use Google translate more often nowadays) but were helpful, and the woman who manages breakfast delightful (nil English at all, but did not matter).

Smallish room. Pricey, but so is everything else in San Sebastian. The pillows were lumpy. More non processed or less sugary options for breakfast would be good (tomatoes, salad veg, natural yogurt, fresh cut fruit/fruit salad).

We originally booked Monte Ulia for 2 nights, but we enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it for an extra night! The hotel is in a great location—about a 20–25 minute walk to the Gros area of San Sebastián, and if you want to go further into town, there are several buses that get you there in just 10–15 minutes. A big highlight of our stay was the service. Jon, one of the receptionists (and the one we saw the most), was absolutely amazing. He went out of his way to accommodate us when we wanted to stay an extra night, helping us find another room without any hassle. He also gave us fantastic recommendations for where to go for pintxos, drinks, and even the best spots in town to watch the fireworks. Overall, Monte Ulia was a perfect base for exploring San Sebastián. Comfortable stay, great location, and outstanding service—especially thanks to Jon! Highly recommend.

Its location is great, its a little out from the hustle of the city yet easy to get to via the 13 bus which stops almost outside the hotel, its about 1.80 euros into town and you get off in the main street and get back on at the same stop you got off at, as the bus turns around here and heads back to the hotel. There is also a nice local coffee shop just by the bus stop at the hotel and a short car drive you can get to the top of Mount Ulia where there are lots of walks through the forest with great views over the city and the sea. Oh yes there is also a great, quiet car park, which is free to guests.

Our room was fitted out for disabled, which made the shower a little awkward for us, for example the shower head was far too low. Also coffee making in the room would be great, otherwise everything was really very good.

San Sebastian is expensive for hotels, so to find one within budget, albeit a bit of a walk from town, is quite difficult. We therefore didn't expect much from the hotel, but I think it at least met our expectations. Parking was easy and out of sight for the motorcycles. Air con worked... a little slowly, but it was quiet and easily got the room temperature down to a comfortable temperature.

Staff were helpful, but a smile from some key staff would give the place a far more welcoming feel on arrival. Rooms are dated and in need of some refresh in decoration and fittings, but everything was as clean as it could be - just old and worn. If I posted some pictures of the worn-out bits, it would give an unfair bad impression. Despite this, it is still a good option for those on a tighter budget

City bus nearby (get the pass), bedding, shower pressure and the doors didn't leak!, shower stool. plenty of outdoor parking, staff, sufficient breakfast with room to sit. value/price. soundproof windows, balcony, surprise of a corner view (308). Sufficient lighting. Easy to find with 2 entrances. Look for the white fence.

Bathroom space is too small for large person to move around. too small for photo, no place to put 'stuff', insufficient outlets, typical hotel bad hairdryer, no english tv station, dining options are in town. I love antiques but the breakfast area decor was really dusty/dirty. It was not appetizing.

The staff was all very good and most spoke English if that is a need. There was a nice breakfast offered daily but it was an additional charge, not complimentary. Parking was free and that was a big plus.

The property is not new. Despite being old it was in good, clean condition. It is not particularly close to city center. But the bus stop is a few steps from the hotel and just two stops from city center. It would be an energetic walk (downhill) into town, but the return trip (uphill) would not be a pleasing return walk.

We have been wanting to visit this area for many years but have not found any accommodation that were able to afford as Donastia San Sebastian is a very elegant and pricy area so we were not expecting the Ritz but were more than happy with what this hotel provided, plus, free on site parking. The hotel was basic but clean and comfortable and our room was more than large enough plus the bathroom was of a decent size, Location wise is first class as it was only a twenty minute walk to the first beach or you could catch a bus from a stop around fifty metres from the hotel entrance. There was a good choice of food at the buffet breakfast so you could eat as much as you desired and staff in all locations were friendly and polite. As the hotel is on a main road you will get traffic noise when the balcony door is open but when closed there is no noise and the air con is excellent either for cold or hot air.

At this price in this area there is nothing that I would change.

Free on-site parking, very close to several bus stops and the local train station, basic but functional and comfortable room. The hotel is about a couple of kilometres from the old town (otherwise 30-40 mins walk), however it's well connected by frequent buses.

Our room was located on the ground floor and we could often hear people walking along the corridor or visiting the reception. That being said, it's a fairly quite hotel so that didn't keep us up at night.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel has an uninviting street front. The entrance is at the back of the building from the carpark.. The location is surprisingly convenient giving access to the old town via a bus stop nearby.

The initial impression included a locked, dusty front of the building and emptied bins.
