A lovely old building with traditional features and modern facilities. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. There was a small fridge with water and a desk fan to keep us cool. (taken note of previous comments.) The host was friendly and we used google translate to communicate. It was conveniently located for a stroll to the promenade. It is only a 2star hotel so you shouldn’t be expecting grandeur, we liked it.

The only draw back is the road noise from the room we were in. However we closed the window/door and shutter and were so tired we slept without any problem.

The staff at Hotel Neguri were especially kind, fun-loving, and gracious to our little group of 6 seniors (3 couples). We enjoyed the prime location and the beauty of Hotel Neguri's vintage Basque architecture. We even found the climb to our rooms (2 floors up; no elevator) invigorating. (So glad we packed lightly. :) We found our rooms spotlessly clean and the beds invitingly comfortable. Having arrived nearly-famished(!), after a long overseas journey, we found the hotel most conveniently located, right next door to a marvelous restaurant called Mi Gaea. (Highly recommend!) In the morning, rather than dine at the hotel for breakfast, we chose the short walk to delightful Zurikaldai Neguri bakery and savored the rich espresso and the local breakfast delicacies ~ to die for! It was also a lovely evening walk to the restaurants by the dock. Our visit coincided with a most unusual heat wave, so the street noise was noticeable since windows had to be open for fresh air. (Not a factor for us, though, since we pack earplugs. :) All in all, we were definitely satisfied with the hotel staff's friendliness, the overall value, and the convenient location of Hotel Neguri. If we ever book another cruise embarking from Getxo in the near future, we would definitely return to lovely Hotel Neguri.

What could be a drawback to some travelers, is the fact that the hotel's front desk is not open 24/7. They are open for check-in only between the hours of 6pm to 9pm, and for check-out only between 8am to noon.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful suburb just outside Bilbao. Easy connections to the city and a short walk to a great local beach. Staff exceptionally welcoming, friendly and engaged - we appreciated all the support for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of them winning the UEFA Cup.

I love old houses with creaky floors and short treads on the stairs, some people might not appreciate threw character

The room was spacious and the bathroom clean and roomy. The old house has its charm.

In the room I hoped there would have been a dimmer reading light or something to make it look a bit softer after sunset - the lights were bright and somehow didn’t feel like fitting in.

The location is ideal. The hotel is a converted historic private home close to beaches, boardwalk and metro to Bilbao.

The room's bathroom was fine, but fixtures are old and could be updated.

Hotel was easy to find - room very clean. Host welcoming and helpful.

No air con (or if there was I didn’t find it). Breakfast available from 08:00 but a little too late when early start needed.

Without aircondition and fridge is quite hard to be there in sommertime. It would be a Perfect place with them.

I loved the location, the friendly staff, the view out my window, cleanliness and old world charm.

The stairs creaked quite loudly, due to their age, and I worried I was disturbing other guests each time I went up and down them.
