We really loved this hotel! The location is fantastic, the rooms are spacious and everything is very clean. The view of the forest is simply stunning, and in the morning the birdsong is absolutely beautiful. We liked it so much that we actually came back — we were on a road trip and it was very convenient that the hotel has its own parking. It’s also close to Bilbao, with an easy and comfortable drive. At first, we planned to stay just one night, but we liked it so much we returned and stayed another night. The breakfast was excellent, the pool was great — everything was just perfect. The bed was very comfortable, including the pillows, and the room had everything we needed. It was also a lovely surprise to receive a complimentary bottle of wine. A perfect stay!

We had a brilliant week staying at Basoan. The staff are fantastic and very helpful. The breakfast is lovely and healthy. And the surrounding area is beautiful. We saw deer every day. Bilbao is a 45 minute bus ride away so you can't just pop into the town. But if you are fine with that then we would definitely recommend Basoan. We didn't find this a problem at all during our stay, it was nice to visit the city then escape back to the mountains. The location is also close to some nice beaches (40 mins by bus). Mungia is a 45 minute walk or ten minute bus ride away and is also worth a visit for some local bars / restaurants and supermarkets. We will be back.

The decor is exceptional; you can feel it’s crafted with love, with particular attention to detail, and everything feels handmade. The room is very spacious, very clean, and the view is impressive. The bed is extremely comfortable, with a soft mattress topper, and the ability to pivot the TV is a fantastic idea, allowing you to watch it from either the couch or the bed. The kitchen has everything you might need. We even saw deer running in the distance, which was adorable. The breakfast service is excellent, featuring organic products from the region that are homemade. The staff is incredibly kind and delightful, always attentive and responsive, and a big plus is that they communicate very well in English.

The room could use a bit more sound insulation, but it’s not a major issue, as the hotel enforces quiet hours after 11 PM. Additionally, children under 12 are not allowed, helping maintain a peaceful environment.

The property is so spacious, modern, clean and beautiful! We loved the aesthetics of all the furnishings and it had everything we needed and more! The surrounding areas are also incredible and we had such a wonderful view and was so pleasant to hear the birds outside everyday! Absolute paradise. The breakfast as other people have mentioned was definitely a highlight, so delicious and so many options, we went to sleep excited to wake up for it! Everyone is so helpful and gave us great tips and advice on what to do with our day and where to go. Could not recommend it more!

Everything was perfect! Only thing to note is that if you didn’t arrive with a car, make sure to keep some budget aside to get taxi’s or ubers to town and order it before leaving the premises! One rainy morning we had left before booking an uber and once we got to the end of the road and booked it, it was a 20 minute pickup in the pouring rain! Luckily Maria spotted us as she was leaving and was so kind to offer us a ride to town, going out of her way as well. This absolutely saved us and was so helpful and gracious, we really appreciated it. Thank you for the most wonderful stay!

Excellent location for visiting Bilbao and other points of interest in the Basque area and just a few minutes away from the airport. Very clean and very functional apartment, with great air conditioning. Good beds. Very clean pool, although the weather and outside temperature weren't appealing to use it. Courtesy welcome wine bottle (actually good). The host Jokin is super friendly and makes excellent scrambled eggs. Breakfast with high quality products. Good signal Wi-fi. Great large format smart TV. Private parking. Surrounding countryside very restful and well maintained.

Spacious rooms with a little kitchen, everything is new. Good sound-insulation between the rooms. The breakfast was super good and tasty. In the fridge there was a bottle of local wine, special thank you for this little gift. We liked the wine. 20 min by car from Bilbao. Paring place.

There is no closet in the room to keep clothes if you come for a few days. Unfortunately early in the morning there began some industrial noise as if there were some construction works or smth similar not far from the hotel. Not much space to walk on the territory of the hotel.

This is an exceptional, atmospheric place. It is hard to describe just how good it is! Large, extremely well equipped and comfortable room. Ours had an outdoor deck with 2 deck chairs, dining table with chairs and wonderful countryside views. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Seriously. Just a few minutes easy drive to the airport. Don’t just use it for that though; we will stay for at least 2 weeks next time and use it as a base for day trips around the area.

Lovely quiet Big studio, with all commodities: rainshower, towels, also for swimming pool, fridge, all utilities ( plates, cutlery, cooking material, toaster, sugar, coffee, oil, vinegar) Big terrace, ( covered) with table/ chairs, beach chairs. Parking area available ( also possible for electric cars to charge to be paid at check-out) Breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurt , egg products freshly made ( omelett, scrambled eggs with or without vegetables and banana pancakes), apple juice and coffee. Toasted bread with jam. Tomatoes with cheese/jamon. Swimming pool lovely refreshing. Very kind hosts/personnel.

Basoan is located in a very peaceful and relaxing location. Everything was as expected, very clean and new, easy to access, plenty of parking. All the staff were friendly. The breakfasts were perfect, plenty of food and the two breakfast ladies very helpful, answering any questions about the local area/places to go and advice. We enjoyed the pool - plenty of sun loungers.

We felt that it would have been useful to have some information about the area/local restaurants etc and instructions for the electric hob!

It's a very quiet location, and only about 15 minutes into downtown Bilbao. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Patricia, who has a variety of jobs at Basoan. She's very engaging and intelligent. She keeps the apartments very clean, and makes a delicious breakfast for you.
