Beds very comfortable. Staff & hotel very nice. Hotel quiet

Pillows awful. The breakfast is below standard for a four star hotel. The hot food was cold, as was the coffee. There are no labels in English or any other language other than Spanish to explain what the breakfast foods are.

Very nice hotel, built to a high standard. Junior suite was very spacious and clean. Pool area very relaxing after a long drive. Reception staff very nice and helpful. Food in the restaurant was amazing! Breakfast was amazing!

Could be a 10/10 hotel but they let themselves down on a few little things - Bar and restaurant staff are simply no good at their job, almost make you feel an inconvenience. No children's menu/not much for kids to eat. The TV in the room only has Spanish channels and will not allow you to connect to the internet. Location not great but we did know about this before booking. Nice beer on draft but served in a horrible, thick tumbler type glass. Quite an expensive hotel with expensive food, drinks and car park on top. Would be worth it if they sorted the let downs.

Nice quiet pool for the children. Nice seating area by the pool for adults to enjoy a drink. Good breakfast with lots of variety - notwithstanding eggs, bacon, tortilla.Also cold meats and cheese , fruit cereals and bread/ buns. Orange juice was delicious. A gluten free section for coeliac was a nice surprise. Bedroom had a big comfortable bed with blackout curtains and an additional interconnecting sitting room that we used for the children to sleep in. They slept on a pull out couch which was surprisingly comfortable. Very helpful man ensured we got some food to eat prior to departure on a Saturday morning when we had completely forgotten that breakfast was served at 8 not 7. We were getting a bus to Biarritz at 8. They ordered a taxi advised re time for booking and ensured all went smoothly. Lovely female lifeguard with lots of tips for tourists on our first evening. Hotel was perfect for our needs. Only downside is location. It is a 10xminute very easy walk to metro to Ansio stop near Bilboa exhibition centre and 12 minutes on the metro to get to the old town of Bilboa.Gey off at Moyua if you want to see the Guggenheim. It is 10 mins away from metro stop. To combat this problem be prepared to pay more for closer proximity.

We booked a very last minute trip to Bilbao and so we didn’t have many hotel options but we were very pleasantly surprised by Puerta de Bilbao. Very spacious, clean, comfortable and peaceful rooms. Nice bathroom. Staff all friendly and helpful. We liked the hotel bar which was open until 23:00. It’s a 15-20 minute walk from the metro which is ok to do a few times but I wouldn’t want to do it for more than a few days. Taxis to the centre were about €20 (depending on the time of day could be a bit less or a bit more). Taxi from the airport was €35 at night. I think most people who stay here have a car. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

We liked everything! Just be aware of the location if staying longer than a few days without a car.

A really nice hotel made extra special by the friendly and helpful staff. Based on the outskirts off Bilbao the hotel is easy to find of the outer ring road and is located next to a busy shopping area. The car park whilst confusing in the entrance as you enter on the opposite side to driving is really superb inside. The spaces are large with plenty of room all around your vehicle and the floor is painted clearly showing each bay. A lift takes you into the main reception area. The reception staff where helpful and will update your parking ticket if it is part off your package. Our room was clean and comfortable with a view to the side of the hotel over looking the shopping area and the main road at the rear. Breakfast was served in the restaurant area and was plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold items. There were several hot drink machines so no queues. We had a minor issue with the in-room safe and the member of reception came straight up and sorted it out. Overall an enjoyable stay and the staff helped make it more so with their service. The bar staff were helpful and we had an enjoyable evening meal. Would certainly stay again just for the car park alone :-).

You need to know that the turning for the car park is several entrances prior to the hotel. The hotel will give you a map to show how to back track thru the one way system to get in.

Great location. Within walking distance of exhibition centre, shopping centres and restaurants. Very comfortable. Quiet room. Nice view of the surrounding mountains.

Restaurant staff made myself and my friend feel very uncomfortable when we asked to use the microwave to heat up our porridge in the morning. We had our own milk but we felt as though the staff thought we were stealing it from the restaurant. Made us very uncomfortable and we did not return to the restaurant after this.

We have stayed here several times and the location is good and only 15-20 minutes from the ferry. Hotel is clean and staff helpful.

Disappointed that we were unable to eat at the hotel as they had several large events with big groups dining. We were unaware of this in advance and as it was a Monday evening most local restaurants as recommended by the helpful receptionist were closed. We ended up having a McD’s as we needed something to eat. Had we been aware that we would not be able to eat at the hotel I would have booked a different hotel.

Nothing that springs to mind. A really nice hotel. Just one thing though.! There is an 7nderground car park for the hotel, which is accessed via a road at the back of the hotel. It would be helpful that anyone driving a car to the hotel, could be provided with a map to the car park, on the e mail confirming the booking. It’s difficult to find and confusing when trying to find the place, in the midst of heavy traffic. Just a thought, but a pertinent point. I think so,nanyway.

Good location for the ferry, only 15 minutes away. It's only a short walk to the metro to get into Bilbao. Good choice at breakfast. Decent restaurant and not wildly overpriced. Helpful, friendly staff. Hotel parking is in the basement. It's safe, easy to access and €15 a day.

Our first room had no water, but they quickly reallocated. It was quiet, not a great view, but it wasn't expected in that area of Bilbao.

We booked the hotel mainly because of the pool (the water is cold) and parking, even if is paid. The rooms were spacious and clean. If you are into shopping this hotel is close to a shopping area …also close to the public botanical garden.

The parking access map could be provided once the booking is confirmed so you don’t have to ask the reception upon arrival. It will make the life easier for everyone.
