My Daughter & I arrived early in the morning and were greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome by the very nice lady working on reception. I asked if it might be possible to check into our room before the usual 3pm check in time and she advised she would do all she can to get our room ready sooner, and true to her word we managed to get into our room at 1pm which was hugely appreciated as we'd travelled from Bilbao and hadn't had much sleep the previous night. Our room was on the third floor and was very stylish and spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we felt very well looked after, so we look forward to returning again one day.

We were really surprised when we arrived at the property. Truthfully my wife and I had chosen another location but they didn’t have availability for the dates we chose. Then we found Hotel Altaïr and gave it a shot. When we walked through the doors we were really impressed. The decor and the layout is really chic, elegant and with excellent taste in design. The staff amazing helpful, attentive and caring. We couldn’t ask for more…….the room was on ground floor with a little inside terrace very nice. Breakfast was great every morning. They had a nice selection of the top liquor brands . Hotel Altaïr is just an 8 minute walk to the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral very well located. Give it a try I am sure you will not regret staying and this little gem which has its history dating back to the 19th century. Like sleeping in a modern stone wall castle……

Excellent location. The hotel is in a quiet part of the old town. Near everything, but away from the nighttime noise. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic! The room is spacious (particularly for a small hotel). The hotel is a nicely restored old building. We've stayed in a dozen places in Santiago over the years, and this one is undoubtedly one of the best. The complementary water was a nice surprise. In my top 2. We will be back! :-)

The wall partitions between rooms might be a bit thin. We could hear the conversation in the next room. They were talking relatively loudly, but still. This might be an issue if one has noisy neighbours. That said, this hotel seems to attract relatively older (which in my experience are typically quieter) clients, so our stay was very relaxed.

Superb location, 5 minutes walk to the cathedral yet a very quiet street. Also convenient for the bus to the airport as the stop is 3 mins walk away. Originally booked a single room but was kindly upgraded to a double upon arrival without asking. Staff were nice and helpful. Room looked modern and was a good size, and the bathroom had a good shower. Would recommend!

The air conditioning made loud noises so I had to turn it off before going to sleep. The pillows weren’t the most comfortable but I still slept fine.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is very central but overall in a quiet area. The staff was exceptional, and accommodating with everything we needed. It has an elevator and the rooms are very comfortable, nice, and clean.

Overall everything was wonderful. The only little minus point would be that the superior (upper) rooms have part of the ceilings sloping, although in most of the habitable parts of the room, the ceilings are normal and therefore it is not a major drawback. If you are a person who is hypersensitive to sound, there can sometimes be some noise (from other rooms and the street) during the day and night. But in general, for being so centrally located, it is a very quiet and pleasant place.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Altaïr Hotel! The service was top-notch, and we were especially impressed by Ana and Teresa, who made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and passion for hospitality really stood out, offering a considerate and sweet experience throughout our stay. The hotel itself is cozy and beautifully located in the heart of the old town, making it easy to explore the area. It was truly a memorable two-night stay, and we highly recommend Altaïr to anyone looking for an exceptional and personal experience. Thank you for making our trip special!

The staff is exceptional, very helpful and attentive. Breakfast is excellent and of good value, including a large array of fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads, cheese, ham, and jams. The room was clean and beds comfortable. The hotel is located a few blocks from the fascinating historic center and it’s easy to explore and return. We were sad to leave!

This is not a problem with the hotel per se. Parking is not adjacent to the property, as with most of the hotels in the historic area, and it takes some time and walking to drop bags, park and return. This did not change any decision or rating of our hotel stay.

Wonderful boutique hotel…quiet…with a good value for this Pilgrim completing The Camino. Set in a very old building, the rooms are warm, modern and had a great view. The breakfast especially was an excellent value at 9.5€. Staff very helpful! And thank you for all the available umbrellas!

Friendly staff, great location. Even though no parking onsite secure underground parking close and reasonable price. When I raised issue with room aircon it was addressed promptly.

First room on top floor not great for tall people as attic ceiling on side. Bed is a double so small if you are used to queen or king sized. But minor points would stay again just not in top floor room

Amazing accommodation, we definitely enjoyed our stay! It has a perfect location. It's close to the centre, however, it is in a quite quiet street. The room was spacious and clear. The juliet balcony was very lovely and we had a nice view on the sunset. We asked for a kettle to be in the room and the staff arranged that. They also explained how it is with parking in the city and directed us where to leave our car. I loved the nice touch at the end of our stay where they left a hand written thank you note and sweets. I'd definitely come back if I stay in Santiago!
