The room was a good size with a balcony. The bathroom was very nice, with a shower, bath and bidet. The sink was outside the bathroom door, which was good. The location was excellent and could not be better. The market was virtually next door. Walk through the market and down some steps and there is a bus stop which takes you to the airport for 1 euro every 30 minutes.
A little noisy on a Saturday night in the early hours due to people leaving Chocolate night club, but people have to be able to enjoy themselves and it was only the one night that we were disturbed.

The view from our 2nd floor room was perfect and overlooked a small market and church. The windowed veranda was cozy and comforting. The room was adequate for the three of us and our purpose and stay. The elevator was a bonus as was the welcoming and helpful staff at the registration desk during all hours of the day/night. The location was a close to walk to the Cathedral and also to a Zara store. History and shopping all in one spot! I felt safe walking in the area. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. It was relaxing knowing reliable transportation to the airport was booked by the staff. We had to catch a 6:00 AM flight.
The only concern was out of the hands of the hotel. Within a 5 min walk from the hotel a peaceful protest by people I assume from another country definitely presented a reminder that not all can experience what pilgrims gain from a walk on the Camino Way.

The room was lovely, clean and spacious - especially loved the windows that opened onto the market area. Location was easy walking distance to most things that we wanted to do. Bathroom was very large and well laid out.
Not the hotels fault - but we were told they needed 30 minutes in the morning to arrange a cab. After an hour still no cab - staff did all they could but cabs didn't show up so we had to walk to the bus station with our luggage. We couldn't risk being late. NOT hotels fault at all but maybe something needs to be done to ensure cabs come to the area. Or get UBER in the city.

The hotel's location is PERFECT. It's right in the Centre, next to the fantastic central market (Abastos) in the historic part of town - but it's away from the crowds. It's been beautifully and very tastefully renovated, maintaining the authentic 'gallery' windows and authenticity of the original building, combined with very simple, classy interior design. Fortunately it has a lift (I was on the 3rd floor) and my room overlooked Rua de Altamira. If you like watching the world go by, better have a room on the other side of the building - but I appreciated my room being probably a little quieter. Breakfast was lovely: a help-yourself buffet with plenty of delicious options (but nothing cooked, I don't think?) For anyone getting public transport from the airport, Altamira couldn't be better located - it's less than a minute from the 6A bus stop (but you have to navigate the market steps - not great with a heavy suitcase as I did!)
Only a slight niggle - the emergency light in my room (which has to stay on all night) was impossible to screen from the bed. If you're sensitive to light as I am, it was a bit annoying.

This is a lovely hotel very close to the centre. The cathedral is an easy walk away. We had a good sized room with a view. It was too cold to use the balcony but it had some extra comfortable chairs and a table we could use when we had a snack. The bus from the airport stops very close as do buses to the other areas of the town.
sadly we had mixed up and not ordered breakfast so had to go out, although the breakfast area was not overly inviting as was not used much it seemed. If it had been bustling it might have been good.

Best hotel we stayed in along the Camino Ingles, and a brilliant end to this pilgrimage. A stone's throw from the Cathedral, and all of the attractions. We had the tasting menu at dinner and the quality of the food/wine was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, including ordering the taxi to the airport and waving us bon voyage. Quiet rooms even though close to Santiago's centre.
Nothing, everything was first class.

Very good location - 5 minutes walk to the cathedral - but see the comments below. The personnel is friendly. The room is comfortable.
The breakfast. First, we were surprised that it was not served on the first day of our stay. Quite unusually and unexpected. Second, it is OVERPRICED. 14 EUR - and only cold food is served and the choice was far from being extensive. The tea - we asked for NORMAL black tea - was awful. The noise. Nearly all time. Sure this is the opposite side of the good location. However be aware. You can sleep more or less quietly only from 2 am to 7 am as up to 2 am there is noise from cafes etc and from 7 am the trucks with goods for the market Abastos come.

The room is bright and airy, and the bathroom was very clean. Adequate towels and amenities were provided. The location was fantastic, in terms of accessibility to various places in the city was superb.
The noise factor due to its proximity to several old town tourist spots will make light sleepers wary. A small refrigerator with bottles of water would have been a great service tip. The heating/airconditioning set up was a bit complex.

Such lovely light and room overall! Location was just perfect, right in the heart of the historic town. So convenient for the main landmarks and museums. Loved the traditional windows with the stone/granite frame and the wooden blinds, but all with a modern twist. It was so clean and spacious, with picturesque views to the historic centre. What a dream to wake up, open the windows, and get so much light with a view to a lovely little square with a beautiful chapel. As well as that, the bed was super comfy and loved all the storage space in the room. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I arrived very early in the morning and the lady at reception looked after my luggage before I checked in and took it all to my room for me. She also gave me loads of information and recommended some really nice places to go. They were very helpful too when I asked them about directions and wrote all the info on a piece of paper for me :) Much appreciated! Finally, the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous. Delicious breakfast and very nice atmosphere. Santiago is such a breath-taking city, and this hotel just made the whole experience amazing. Just wish I had more time there!
Not a single complaint :)

Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Beautiful room, great bed. Central location in historic centre, very close to the cathedral, museums, restaurants and tapas bars. Great bag storage service after check out. Breakfast very good quality produce.
Next to my he market so a bit noisy until 2am and again from 5am but would be ok for heavier sleepers or take earplugs.
