The hotel is located perfectly in the centre of the Old Town, beside the cathedral. The staff Mary and Elena were exceptional! The room was well equipped with a minibar, comfy bed and beautiful view of the square Fonseca. Modern bathroom with a great walk-in shower.

Be mindful that the entrance to reception for taxi drop off has a set of stairs from the street to reception. This is due to the main entrance where the lift is located, is on the square being on a pedestrianised street. No coffee facilities in the room, but nice taverna on the ground floor.

The hotel is beautiful, located on a small beautiful square beside the cathedral . I had a suite on the second floor and it was exactly as shown in the advertising. The room was very clean and bright, warm. Toiletries in the bathroom ,which was very very clean , lovely big towels too. The cleaning staff do a great job. I had a very Comfortable bed and lovely pillows . There was a safe in the room which was easy to use. There is a hairdryer. Lots of hanging space and drawers There is also a small fridge , no coffee or tea making facilities though. Mary on reception booked me in and she is an exceptional person, an assest to the hotel. Such a lovely person who gives a very warm welcome, when she tells you that you are at home you can believe it, all the staff I encountered were really lovely, in the restaurant downstairs I had breakfast a couple of times and countless coffees, again the staff are friendly and have lots of energy. Good breakfasts choices and really good coffee. This hotel far exceeded my expectations,

There are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Friendly staff and excellent food in the Taberna. After a very long flight from the US they were able to get us in our room a bit earlier than expected. The hotel is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Best croquetas we’ve eaten in Spain, (and my husband is Spanish so this says a lot!). Breakfast was a nice assortment of food including vegan and gluten-free options. Definitely recommend.

An amazing place to stay! We had a room overlooking the 'rose' garden with a huge bath tub in the living room. Front desk people were super friendly and went out of their way to help. Cafe people downstairs were great as well. We liked it so much we kept extending our stay.

The staff were wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. Location brilliant. So close to the Cathedral, historical icons and restaurants. Very vibrant area. We arrived in the middle of a festival so was a little noisy as would be expected. Hotel itself is charming and we have rebooked for when we return to Santiago for a night.

Rooms are a little expensive but you pay for the location and that's the choice we made

I very rarely give a ten rating to any hotel, especially not a two star hotel, but this hotel is a hidden gem. The service was friendly and attentive, rooms are modern, clean, large, and comfortable, and the location in the city center is perfect. Everything was excellent. This hotel favorably compares to most four star hotels and even some five star hotels.

It was a bit noisy at night but that's not the hotel's fault and to be expected in the center a a lively Spanish city.

Superb hotel with an excellent location. Highly recommended. The staff go out of their way to help out. Included breakfast was top notch. Room was large with a large bathtub in the bedroom

There are so many good things i would like to say about the hotel. I really loved Hotel Montes. 1. the property is so close to all the tourists attractions. Everything is walking distance away from the hotel. Their bed is the most comfortable bed in ever had ! 2.The staff is very accommodating and helpful with our needs most especially Mary F. Who arranged everything for us! 3.The room is exceptionally clean! Everytime we go back to our hotel from our tours the smell is so good! 4. the interior design is very quaint. Our room have a small balcony wherein we can watch the procession during Semana Santa! 5.Oh by the way, their breakfast is also good!

This place was amazing. Friendly, helpful staff, even recognized and acknowledged us when we saw them in town. Breakfast was great, again, staff smiling and helpful. Location was right off the Cathedral square on a small square with flowers. Very nice room with balcony overlooking the square. Thought the price for the room was very reasonable for the quality of the hotel and room. The cafe there was very nice, good food reasonably priced. We didn't eat anywhere else in our two days in Santiago.
