The garden space with the bird cage, fountain, and views of Seminario Menor is very relaxing. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The proximity to the bus stop for the airport bus couldn't be better. Proximity to the City Centre is excellent too. We appreciated having coffee and tea making facilities in the bedroom.

The cafe bar was not available in the afternoon which is the time we most needed it as this is the time we returned to the Hotel to escape the afternoon heat. The bar closing time of 11pm was a bit early, maybe 12pm would give us a bit more time to relax with a drink.

I loved everything about this hotel from the moment we arrived (after midnight due to a delayed flight) to find the exquisite door locked as the person on reception had nipped away (loo?) The ambiance is wonderful. The woodwork exceptional. The decor charming. The location perfect for old town and the newer city. Staff were mostly fantastic ( don't think one of the breakfast chaps liked me but can't blame him). The food was fresh. Not sure vegetarians are catered for as eggs on hot tray with bacon for breakfast and evening snack facility included 'vegetable' sandwiches (as labelled) but they contained tuna, 'vegetable salad' also with tuna and to cap it off 'vegetable soup' with chorizo! I'm not outraged, just extremely amused and slightly less overweight. The wine is great! Beds were comfortable enough (why no duvet covers???). The room was unique and beautiful and completely to my taste. The bathroom had a bath (not full sized but still welcome) with a powerful shower over. The fan in the bathroom didn't work (should I care?) The tea tray was adequate. The cleaning service was amazing. The view was unique and exceptional. Social rooms were characterful and peaceful. Did I mention the exquisite woodwork!!! The vibe / atmosphere was safe, kind and welcoming.

This hotel is not perfect, but it was perfect for me. Thank you.

Hotel Virxe da Cerca by Pousadas de Compostela is a beautiful property which reminds you of colonial era.The location is perfect with bus stop right in front and across the road for commuting to train station and bus stand.The famous historical cathedral is a walking distance.Good restaurants and bars are in the close vicinity.We stayed in attic room with beautiful views, had comfortable and memorable stay.The staff is courteous and helpful.We recommend this property and will like to book again in future.

The hotel is conveniently located with the market & historic center just across from the hotel & the Santiago cathedral just 7 min walk away. There is paid parking behind the hotel (it’s a tad expensive at €14 per day but the carpark is not owned by the hotel & it is in a convenient location after all). Our room was very spacious, almost like a suite with 2 armchairs & a small coffee table at the foot of our beds. Bottled water was provided only for the first day but we could borrow a kettle. Hotel building & decor was very historic with beautiful stone walls. Although the hotel is situated along the main road the sound proofing is effective.

View from the window: facing a wall on a narrow street, which was heavily trafficked by both cars and people. It could get quite noisy, even at 3am one night there were people passing by talking loudly for that hour in the morning. We got a complimentary bottle of water on arrival, but this nice gesture wasn't repeated for the rest of our 4 night stay. The same with coffee and milk. They are little things, but they show an attention to detail that is nice to receive.

Honestly, we loved everything. The staff was super kind to us, they were well prepared before our arrival to accommodate us considering we have children. The room was fantastic, spacious, lots of light and we even had AC. The common garden is a jewel, we had dinner while watching the sunset and listening to the beautiful birds they have around. Breakfast was as well lovely, lots of variety and views to the garden.

The only thing I could say is that the entrance is a bit close to the road, but honestly, it was not even noisy.

This is a really nice hotel, divided into the older building and a newer annexe. We stayed in the newer rooms, and had a great stay - looking out onto the gardens with nice birdsong from the aviary. Staff were friendly, and you are just over the road from the old town. The airport bus is only 1 euro and stops almost directly outside.

Great location very near the old town centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast and really nice garden to relax and have a drink. The building itself also looks great and must be especially cosy in Winter.

The rooms are a bit dated, they need to get a renovation. Also it can get fairly noisy as there is a pub with a big beer garden nearby that’s open till at least 2am and you can hear the people talking and laughing sometimes. It’s a great pub, though :)

The room was well located, close to the old to the old town area. The size of the room was ok, and the bath was an added welcome bonus at the end of the 800km Camiño Francis. Breakfast as bd coffees were served on the lower floors, leading to a quiet and pleasant garden.

Breakfast, like the room was a tad expensive, for it was. The room I was given was next to the lift, so it was often noisy from people talking.

Very centrally located, less than 10 min walk in opposite directions to train/bus terminals and the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The buffet breakfast has a lot of varieties. A great breakfast is very important for me to start the day. The breakfast room has a beautiful view of the garden as well. It is bright & comfortable 👍🏼👍🏼
