Location is really central, very close to the cathedral. Very modern room in an old building, spotlessly clean, very powerful shower. Quieter than expected in terms of noise from outside the building (the hotel had contacted me before my stay warning me that my room was on the ground floor next to the front door, and the pension is right in the middle of Santiago). Room had aircon and a TV. When I checked in (at the Hotel Rua do Villar round the corner), the receptionist asked if I was catching a train or flight out from Santiago, and what time, and provided me with detailed directions to the relevant bus stop and times of the buses to the airport.

My single room was very small. Quite expensive, though I was staying the day after a Spanish public holiday when many Spanish people were taking a long weekend break. I could hear sounds from the room next to me - internal sound insulation could be improved.

The location is the best one: very close to the cathedral, in the city center with many restaurants, coffee shops, stores around. You can do everything walking very easy. The place was very clean, silent and with comfortable bed. The staff located in a hotel in a parallel street was very friendly and helpful, proving city map, tips in what to do and where you can find the things you need.

I stayed in a room with single bed for 1 person - it was very small and was difficult to keep the luggage open because of tiny space. However was very clean and ok for few days in Santiago.

Fabulous welcome for, ?Sandra in the main hotel. We arrived early and she gave us lots of local information and put our rucksacks into storage. When we returned later the bags had already been put in our rooms. Equally excellent service at checkout; our bags were stored all day and she arranged a taxi to the airport for our evening flight. A charging cable had been left in one of our rooms and this had been put with our bags by housekeeping. The property is less than 5 minutes walk from the cathedral but as it is not on the main thoroughfare there was absolutely no noise from the street.

Nothing at all. Would happily return.

Ideal location. Quiet considering you’re right next to the Cathedral. Quaint. Good shower. Sufficiently cool. Good bed.

A bit small. Hard to maneuver with 2 people and backpacks. Somewhat cumbersome check-in since it’s at another location. Air conditioning cuts off after a period of time (this might have been the Energy Savings setting on ours which I couldn’t figure out how to change.)

Booked a single room 1.30am while staying in another albergue in Santiago de Compostela. It was a life saver! I could check in early. It was a single room at ground level. Honestly I couldn't hear a peep from the street. Had a great night's sleep. Wouldn't definitely consider staying here again and it wasn't even that expensive for Santiago. Add to the fantastic level of service at reception. Pure quality. Highly recommend!

If I have to be picky, the room was small but it was by no means a deal breaker.

I liked the location of the Pensión Rua Nova. Easy access everywhere and just a few minutes to Cathedral.

I wouldn't say I did not like the lower ground room by the main entrance door. I was told that the room is located on the street side but the street was very quiet. The noise was disturbing when other guests came in at 11 pm-2 am and slammed the door loud or had conversations in the waiting aware. Once you awake it is hard to go back to sleep.

Excellent location in old town close to the Cathedral.Lot of restaurants and cafés just a few steps from the hotel. Very clean, heating working well. Quiet.

Perhaps the smallest hotel room I have ever seen (and I have seen them quite a few up to this age - I'm 67). OK to sleep there, would not like to spend time there during the day. No place to put your luggage to - no cupboard, no table, no chair.

2 blocks close to the cathedral! Silent at night. Historic area. Close everything that I needed it as a peregrine. The reception is in another building but very close. The room has been updated.

I think is a little over price. My husband was driving and the parking is public 4 blocks away and I received a discount for the public parking but I paid like $20 for one night.

The single room was so cozy and it was perfect for a solo traveller. The location was fantastic - right in the middle of the old town without being on one of the crazy-busy tourist streets. The receptionist was really nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. I liked being able to control the temperature in my room. It was a really excellent stay!

The wifi didn’t work very well.

The location of the Pension Rua Nova was perfectly close to everything, especially the Cathedral. It was also wonderful to be able to see the Good Friday Processions directly from the windows. The staff in their sister hotel the beautiful and quaint Hotel Vilar were wonderfully helpful and gave excellent advice on where to visit and some great restaurants.
