Beautiful old mansion! Lots of character! Spacious room. The house was kept looking old, but newly renovated. So there was everything you need but so much prettier than a new, modern hotel. All the rooms and even the stairwell were decorated in a beautiful style, with heart and soul. My daughter and me stayed here for a four days trip to Stockholm. It was so nice! The bed was very comfortable and made us feel like princesses! Everything felt first class. The towels were super soft and fluffy. The location was perfect, with easy access to the metro and buses. Many restaurants and a huge supermarket nearby. The breakfast was served in the basement in an old cellar, romantic and cozy. It was delicious, too. Lots of choices, eggs, bacon, Köttbullar, different cheeses, Joghurts and cold cuts. Fresh fruit, cookies and cake and a lot more. The staff was very friendly, especially Jonathan. He is such a nice person, always giving good, helpful advice and really caring. We enjoyed our stay so much! Whenever we come back to Stockholm, we would love to stay here again!!!

Absolutely nothing to complain about!

I liked the old building and staying in a room inside the roof. The location is great. Many restaurants, cafes, bars, food stands, and grocery stores are nearby. The metro station is just around the corner. Nice staff. The room was larger than expected. I liked that they provided disposable slippers.

The bed was not comfy. The springs made the classic noise. No hair conditioner. The breakfast was nice but exactly the same every morning (I stayed for 5 nights). No salmon. The ceiling was low. I am short, so it worked out ok for me, but even I hit my head a couple times.

Not your faceless hotel chain! Hellstens Malmgård is located in a beautiful old building with a nice surrounding garden and very tasteful interior. The room was nice, comfy, and very quiet. The breakfast offered a good choice; coffee and tea were available outside breakfast hrs. The location of the hotel is very convenient with restaurants, grocery store and a fabulous bakery within easy walking distance. Subway is about 300 m. off and will take you directly to the city centre in 10 min. The staff are outstandingly friendly and helpful! Thank you! (If Sweden were not cashless. we gladly would have given a tip!)

Bathroom was small; occasionally unpleasant smell from shower; no fridge in room; breakfast room small and a bit dark. (But in good weather you can have breakfast in the sunny garden.)

A boutique feel, not corporate. Friendly staff. Nice tea & coffee area. Spacious room. Good choice & standard if breakfast. Right by the Metro. Lovely island to stay on - some fantastic restaurants and bars close by. You can get the metro to places easily or it’s only a 15 min walk to centre of the island or 30 min walk to old town - and you can take in the great views on the way. Stockholm is a beautiful city.

Nice to have access to tea, coffee, fresh milk in the room but this is a minor point!

We got a spacious room on the ground floor. The beds were comfortable, the area was quiet and felt very safe. We had space for clothes and our suitcases. There was an excellent breakfast-buffet. The shower was good. We felt comfortable and at home. Good proximity to the metro Zinkensdamm. The neighbourhood is upmarket and offers good shops, restaurants etc and there are some lovely walks around. The staff were very helpful. The building is historic and characteristic.

Low beams: watch your head and I found the lighting in the breakfast room a bit dark - however I found generally, Stockholm streets and restaurants are very dimly-lit, perhaps it's a cultural thing Also, it's a hearty 30 min walk into Stockholm city centre. The views along the way are spectacular and not a problem for us, but less keen walkers may find it far. Of course, using the nearby metro is an alternative and it's only a few stops to T-Centralen.

The room (with four-poster bed) was lovely. Cozy and charming. Very comfy mattress and pillows. Breakfast is very good, with all sorts of things to choose from (including cold cuts, very good bread, fresh fruit etc.). The weather was beautiful, which made it possible to have breakfast in the garden. Staff super nice. The lounge (with coffee and tea) is another hit. Also, the hotel is very close to the Tunnelbana station, which makes it easy to get everywhere in Stockholm.

Nothing - we enjoyed everything and strongly recommend it. The wardrobe in the bedroom was perhaps a bit small, but for a few days we managed.

The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly, the property is pretty close to everything and it was very charming. I personally liked seeing all of the old furniture they had and it was cool that the place has a lot of history to it! They have board games you can play, which was nice to have on a rainy day in. The complimentary breakfast was very good, and I liked that they had complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate that you could make yourself as well!

Our room was a bit dusty, there was dust on the walls, and hanging from the ceiling. Other than that, it was a pretty nice room, and we had a nice stay at this hotel!

The breakfast as usual in Sweden was lavish. I couldn't do it justice. I liked the communal area on the ground floor where you could get tea and coffee and read in the evening.

I asked for a quiet room "small double" on an upper floor and that is what I was given. The room was located in the attic and so had slanting beams, which made access to one side of the bed very difficult. As I was alone that didn't matter. There was a very small window.

For me and my wife everything was great. Yes, the rooms are small, but for weekend getaway, you don't need anything more. Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast, nothing out of the ordinary (Big + a lot types of milk). Based on price/location/quality, I would say that price for value is great. Metro is pretty close and price for taxi from central station ∼ 10 EUR (using Bolt). For travelers: Skinnarviksberget is pretty close to this hotel, don't forget to go there :)

If my next trip to Stockholm would be more than a week. I would book a larger room, than small room. As I would have more stuff on me. Otherwise nothing bad to say about this place.

Hotel’s location is very good: 3 minutes walking to metro, 20 minutes to Södra station, 30 minutes to Gamla Stan. Close by are lots of bars and places to eat, grocery stores and pharmacies. Hotel itself looks pretty cool (old fashioned furniture, old stairs and doors etc). Free candies and coffee(apparently also free but I did not try it) from the coffee machine in the fall-way on the 1st floor. The room was good as well. Comfortable bed and pillows, clean bathroom. Floor was old and squeaky but it looked so cool! Breakfast was small but OK! Personal was very friendly.

Not enough sockets next to the bed (there was one occupied by the lamp so lamp had to be disconnected). Water pressure in shower was a bit too low (on the 3rd floor at least). Would loved to have pancakes for breakfast not just scrambled eggs. Also juice was not very tasty. — but all these things are small and did not ruin my stay at the hotel!
