Our time at the Tomaro Hotel was fantastic! The interiors are exquisitely designed; they are cosy, fashionable, and inviting. It may not seem like much from the outside, but once you're inside, you'll be pleasantly surprised! Each and every employee was amiable, accommodating, and sincerely willing to help. Our stay felt truly unique because of their hospitality. It's in a great location, close to the library and surrounded by lots of great restaurants. Everything became so easy because of it. I had a great time at the hotel and overall. When I return, I will most certainly stay here. Tomaro Hotel, thank you!

One small thing to note: the swimming pool is not inside the hotel itself but just a short 8 minutes walk away. However, this wasn’t really a drawback for us.

We enjoyed staying at Tamaro hotel, stuff is very friendly, great interior, clean, good breakfast, even better dinner and bar, amazing view, great location.

Hotel Tomaro came as a surprise as I wasn't expecting wide stone-flagged hallways with antique furniture and rugs. Oil painings adorn the walls. There are even sumptuous sitting rooms should you want a quite place for reading or a chat. My room was well appointed, spacious and clean. The view across the lake is magnificent and well-worth the extra. The value is exceptional.

I found the feather pillows to provide no support and would have preferred foam or latex. I also found the sound of furniture being moved upstairs grating - surely some rubber feet would fix that? And then there was the breakfast - a few slices of cold meat and cheese, a small cup of muesli and machine coffee leaves a lot to be desired. They could do so much better.

Friendly staff, beautiful house with history, wonderful view from the window, small but clean and cozy room. Since the hotel is in a pedestrian area, upon request a transfer was provided from and to the parking lot, where you can leave your car for 9 euros per day. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby, a supermarket is a 10-minute walk away. It would be great if there was a kettle and coffee maker in the room. In general, normal value for money.

A charming hotel in a superb location. Querky decor with soacious roons. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely views across the lake. The porter service was a bonus, and an explanation o how to upload and enter the pedestrian area was clear. Breakfast was lovely, again with fantastic views. We are at the attached restaurant and the food was really good.

The hotel leads directly onto the lakeside with its trees, restaurants and waterfront terraces. Its at the quieter end of the street close to the departure point for the boats and just a few steps form the charming small alleys of the old town. Wonderful to wake up to a lake view. The reception were very welcoming and happy to help. I was able to borrow a bicycle to visit a local museum. I would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly stuff - everyone from the reception to the room service is nice and friendly! Everything works smoothly and uncomplicated. Easy to feel comfortable and immediately relax. They repair the shower even before I mentioned that something was not working properly. When I came back in the evening the shower was working perfectly again. Amazing common terrace where you can enjoy the beautiful view on the lake!

The hotel is a little gem in the centre of Ascona, a truly warm and classic atmosphere in the best sense possible. The founding family is still in charge after 3 generations and you can feel the personalised care and attention for the guests. The views from the roof terrace are amazing and the whole structure is special, there are hidden treasures in every corner, including the art collection all over the property. It was an fantastic stay.

While corner terrace of room 102 facing the beautiful Piazza and the lake was breathtaking on its own, the staff has been friendly and accommodating, up-to-date air conditioning provided us with the necessary cool and the location could not be any more central with the boat pier and dozens of restaurants in immediate walking distance. I will definitely be back :)

The location is extraordinary- in the center of the old town right in front of the lake. The hotel owner and the staff were welcoming, and happy to help in every way. The room, facing the lake, was charming, comfortable and quiet. The hotel, an old house turned into a hotel, is beautiful, and has a terrace facing the lake that is absolutely wonderful.

I liked everything, I already want to return.
