The location of the hotel is ideally situated right on the main piazza and only a short walk from the city center, grocery shops, local museums, and bus stop to Locarno. The stop for the ferry to the Isole di Brissago and other places on Lago Maggiore is also conveniently right in front of the hotel. The staff at the hotel and the adjacent restaurant are all very professional and friendly. I was able to request an electric water kettle in advance for my room in order to make tea. The water pressure in the shower was also really great and the balcony view from my room was incredible.

The only thing I would have liked would be a mini fridge or a vending machine with waters, etc. Since the local grocery stores close at around 6:30 or 7pm, there is no real way to get anything but tap water unless you order from the hotel restaurant (which is open until about 11pm or so).

The location was excellent, as well as the breakfast on site. Everything is in walking distance, with a great view from the balcony. The staff is lovely, always helpful with guidance in such details, as restaurant deals, Ticino ticket, etc. The room was minimal yet clean and orderly with a daily cleaning service.

Lack of amenities in the room, for example a small kettle for boiling some tea and glasses for drinking water.

The location is excellent, the rooms have a great view to the lake. The bus stand is a 5 mins walk away. The staff is cooperative and friendly. The room has good facilities.

The rooms don't have AC, they do provide a fan but it isn't enough to cool the room during the day in the peak of summer, which is when we visited.

Location was perfect on the lakefront. Breakfast was wonderful. The restaurant is good and has plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The view from our room was perfect. Looking into the lake. We took parking from the hotel. 7 minutes walk to the Migros underground carpark. €20 a day.

The room was bijou no where to put suitcases for example. The room is old fashioned. The bathroom tiny no where to put your bits and bob's. This isn't a dislike but just a heads up. Do not expect the room to be boutique. It was adequate and I believe it is reflected in the price.

The view from the room is very beautiful FROM the balcony.. Staff is quite friendly dispite many little incidents with bookings and Internet connection. Yet Ascona is a very chic and picturesque place to stay. The hotel is right in the center of it by the lake and it is worth the experience.

Be very carefull with room description on booking .com.... As I expected a room with balcony ( originally reserved ) but when I added on the Breakfast it cancelled the balcony and the room was booked with a view but no Balcony! The whole purpose of this hotel ( or these hotels...there are 3 one next to each others ) is tohavw thw balcony and the view. We were offered to stay in Faro hotel with no aircon no lift but a balcony for50 euros extra per night! Very hot and stuffy room due to stormy weather and mattresses and pillows over soft. Breakfast included is worth, but the restaurants linked to the 3 hotels are very overpriced with extremely slow service.

The location was first class on the edge of the lake directly opposite the pier. Views from the balcony were spectacular. The breakfast was perfect with some vegetarian options. The coffee was strong we lived it! We ate in the restaurant one evening and can strongly recommend the cherry tomato spaghetti.

There was nothing we didn’t like. We knew the room would be small so it wasn’t a problem for us.

Superb location, excellent value for money, the best views in Ascona. Nice hotel itself and nice staff.

The room was VERY basic, the beds slightly hard and uncomfortable, but this is more a swiss thing than anything else. No aircon, which i imagine in summer must be difficult to deal with, but it was fine for a September visit and there is also a fan. No fridge.

Very friendly reception staff. Lakeside location with balcony overlooking lake. Has a lift.

Not so much about the property but as smoking is allowed on the balconies, as a non-smoker cigarette smoke wafted up from other balconies and into my bedroom. Disappointing to sometimes have to close balcony door and not be able to go outside to enjoy the amazing view. As I say more a social problem than a hotel problem but worth mentioning.

This hotel has central location, an amazing view to the lake and the lake side. I also loved a cozy balcony. Good value for money.

There were not vegetables on the breakfast. Some tomatoes our cucumbers options would be nice to have.

Nice breakfast. Central to everything. We left 1 day early, but could not get a refund when we let them know 4 days prior. 13 night stay. Great staff

Room temperature was hard to control. Sheets were odd, with a texture, not smooth.
