The staff was wonderful, easy communication through the booking.com message system and in person. They were so accommodating with our request. We had to use google translate a little for English, which was understandable for us. The breakfast was lovely, perfect for our needs each day, fresh, quality items. Our room was smaller, but suited us for 4 days. The bathroom was very clean and renovated. Great shower pressure and temperature, the AC was fantastic as it was very hot during our stay. Lots of electrical outlets and very comfortable beds. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the train station, there's a bus stop right beside the hotel if needed. Since it was just a bit outside the center, so quiet at night.

My room was good-sized, a nice change from the many single ones that I have had on my trip. It was quite modern and comfortable. The hotel's location was good for enjoying the lovely town of Bellinzona, although it was perhaps a few minutes walk longer for walking to the train station. Entry to the hotel was a bit confusing as you must take the elevator, and the hotel reception is not marked as such. It is the restaurant terrace. The hotel clerk was helpful although we had to conduct our business in French. He arranged an early breakfast and a taxi to the station.

The location is a little bit off which means it is quiet but still near everything.

The Repeption hours and the lack of staff. The breakfast the second morning was not good. The information in our room about breakfast hours was not correct. When we came, other guests had finished almost eveything and we had only left overs. We asked for eggs like the first morning but were ignored by the girl.

We were treated with great warmth and care in the Locanda Marco. Personal yet discrete service, comfy cool room with great pillows, wonderful food and wine recommendations and a very special breakfast room and poached egg! Loved the outdoor seating for the evening meal and feel so grateful for having been made to feel so special and welcomed. We’ll be back and we highly recommend!

Surprised that it’s more a restaurant than a hotel. Only 4 rooms on top floor, but no noise

The hotel is a short walk through a lovely small town. located about two blocks from the main plaza area, it is very quiet and peaceful. The room was a good size with an extremely comfortable mattress and high quality bedding with two good pillows per guest. The shower was excellent and everything was spotlessly clean. Water and coffee are in the room, free of charge. Wi-Fi worked great. The hotel communicated with us professionally at the time of booking and to confirm our arrival time. Our train was late and we arrived at almost 11 pm but it was not a problem. The view from our room on the second floor was grand, even at night. The castle is on a hill just above the hotel, and it’s bathed in a golden light. The morning view was equally impressive. Breakfast was generous and of good quality- meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, croissants, and fruit. Coffee, tea, cappuccino made to order. Highly recommend.

Recently renovated, fantastic location. view from our room named ("Castelgrande") was unbelievably amazing with unobstructed view of the castle (photo below). Location great - short 12-14 minutes walk to main train station.

The only reason I don't rank the property a 10/10 was because of 1 small mis-understanding. When checking in, we were asked what time we would eat breakfast. I answered "between 8am and 9am" which was fine the first morning of our visit because we ate around 9am. Unfortunately on our second (and last) morning, we went to the breakfast room at 8:10am and it was dark and locked so we had to leave the hotel without breakfast. I kind of blame myself in this situation, because I could have been more specific about when we wanted breakfast. Of course they ask because there are only 4 rooms in this "hotel".

Staff was fantastic. Attentive, knowledgeable, just lovely people. The food in the restaurant is exquisite. Can be a bit on the pricy side, but if able, a night here for dinner is well worth it!

The location is very comfortable and clean. The staff was kind and available. The breakfast was good, with a wide selection of food. The dinner was tasty with original dishes made with fresh products.

everything. the room is very well designed and a very nice walk-in shower. Both the breakfast and dinner options are superb. it has been one of the best dinners we have had. excellent. the staff are very friendly and do what ever to make your stay fantastic.
