The room with a nice view to the lake, close to the train and bus station, restaurants, city centre and lake. Simple but good breakfast (no omelet, scrambled eggs..) with good choice of cheese, salami, breads, yogurts and fresh fruits. No kettle and coffee machine in the room but breakfast room is available 24/7 and tea and coffee are there for free. Room was clean

We had to ask for the Ticino card at the reception, we didn't get it automatically as we should have. If someone doesn't know about it, they might pay unnecessarily for example for local buses or trains, the price of which is included in the Ticino card, which you should get automatically at check in.

The location of the hotel was great for exploring the city. Rooms were clean but sparsely furnished; it felt like a college dorm room. Breakfast was included. The only hot items were boiled eggs, but all the items were kept fully stocked throughout the open breakfast time and were fresh and delicious. We had a balcony room with a nice view of the lake. The breakfast room also was pleasant and overlooked the lake.

Off site parking ( for a fee) was difficult for us to locate; we ended up parking somewhere else for a similar price. Wifi needs to be manually reconnected every day.

The location is fabulous, right across the street from the lake. Definitely opt for a lake view room and enjoy sitting out on your balcony walking the sunrise or sunset over the water. The rooms are decent sized and have a mini fridge which we really appreciated. There is AC which was also greatly appreciated.

Breakfast was a little under impressive compared to other places we stayed this vacation. Minor detail, but while the rooms are great, the halls are completely bare, no art work, no chairs or tables, it makes them feel low rent and unwelcoming.

I love this hotel. I've stayed twice, once as a solo traveler and once with my sister, visiting me from the USA. The hotel is in an amazing location, with the waterfront on one side and a shortcut to the train station on the other. Restaurants, coffee shops and gelato are just next door. The rooms are minimalist. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is great, and I love that cappuccino, hot chocolate and vending machines are available at all times on the second floor. The staff was fantastic, each time.

My dad was staying at this hotel, because he had a injury and came back from the hospital in Locarno. I needed to book a hotel for him and also needed some extra help. Tanja and Adriana from the reception really helped us out and they are very friendly people. My dad was also happy with the hotel room and so on. I can really recommend this place!

The location is what makes this place. The room was basic (although clean and pleasant), but the location on the lakeside could not be better. The balcony was as big as the room, and I was lucky enough to be there for a fireworks display that the balcony basically gave me a front-row seat for. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was fast enough to suit my needs.

I mean, for the price, what more could I expect? This isn't a luxury hotel - no bath, no refrigerator, basic breakfast. But for the price, and that location, it was a perfect place to stash my stuff while I went out, and to sleep when I was done going out.

Rooms are very comfortable and modern with an open/airy feelings. Great views of the lake that within a 5 minute walk. The younger receptionist was very lovely, helpful and professional. She was friendly and was quick to complete tasks or troubleshoot problems leaving a great impression of the hotel.

Great location. V good buffet breakfast with coffee/tea available all day. V good view from room. All the staff were helpful, but I would especially like to thank the young lady at reception who was so helpful with directions and gave me a cell adapter when I asked about buying one. Her friendly cheerfulness really added to my stay. Grazie e arrivederci!

I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Very good selection as far as Breakfast is concerned. I was impressed with the cleanliness.

The televison did not have instructions as how to get the different channels. I think mine was out of order as I could just hear it but no picture. But as I was there just one night there was no point in complaining.

From the moment we walked into the reception area we felt welcome and cared for. Monique and her colleagues were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Our room was very well-designed so the space was used to best advantage and there was plenty of room for our bags and belongings. The bathroom had everything it needed and the bed was comfortable. The view was stunning! Everything was exceptionally clean. The breakfast room was lovely - overlooking the lake - and was available throughout the day for free tea and coffee. The breakfast was excellent and generous, with a great choice. The location is great, actually having a back door which gives access almost directly to the train station. The train made travel to Lugano and to Bellinzona very straightforward. It is easy to walk to Ascona, and the cog railway, cable car and chairlift to Madonna de Sasso, and beyond to Cardada is a short walk from the hotel. The lake front and ferry terminal are directly opposite the hotel. When we decided to stay an extra night we had to change rooms, but the staff made it very easy for us and gave us a very good rate for the additional night. This is a charming and welcoming hotel.
