The peaceful atmosphere in the room provided a welcome respite from the bustling city outside. The quality of the breakfast offerings was impressive, with a diverse selection of fresh and delicious items that catered to various dietary preferences. Additionally, the staff members at the reception desk and in the breakfast area were exceptionally attentive and professional, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience.

The doors of the lift I took did not open fully, it was a bit scary to be frank. In my room (402), there was a coffee machine that proved quite challenging to operate. The capsule system was particularly tricky, and I struggled to use it correctly. Unfortunately, I made quite a mess while attempting to brew my coffee and had to clean it up using a bathroom towel. Despite using four capsules, I only managed to produce one cup of coffee. I can assure you that the machine was indeed difficult to use; it wasn't just user error on my part! :-)

The location was fantastic - close to all the sights as well as train station when we wanted to venture to the mountains for the hikes. Breakfast was lovely - loved the hot options and pretzels. Wider selection of coffee / milk types would be extra plus but there are plenty spots around as well so no big deal. Room was lovely very comfortable bed and great bathroom. Receptionist with black hair and glasses that welcome us on arrival was super nice and set the perfect tone for the trip. Late check out was also appreciated even though ended up not needing it, it was nice to have an option.

This hotel just on the outskirts of Zurich’s Old Town proved to be a great choice for our stay. Its location was ideal—within easy walking distance of both Alstadt and the picturesque Lake Zurich waterfront, making it perfect for exploring the city on foot. The check-in experience was smooth and hassle-free. We appreciated that our room was ready early, and they accommodated our request for an early check-in around noon without any fuss. The room itself was spacious, with a large, well-appointed bathroom that added to the comfort of our stay.

Overall, the facilities and location made for an enjoyable and convenient stay. However, one area that fell short was the front office service. At a hotel of this caliber, you expect a level of courtesy and attentiveness that leaves a positive impression. Unfortunately, both the staff member we encountered during the day and the one handling our early morning check-out seemed to lack the warmth and refined manners one associates with top-tier hospitality. While there wasn’t a specific incident, their tone and demeanor felt a bit off, which detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.

The breakfast was five stars, everything you might want from eggs, bacon, plenty of cereals, fruits, juices and pastries. They even have huge Bavarian pretzels! Plus the coffee was excellent and made to order i.e., great cappuccino! A nice way to start the day. The reception staff were always friendly, helpful and efficient. Frank was exceptionally helpful. He gave us great restaurant advice, constructive advice on how to tour the city and Lake Zürich . Even the taxi cab that he ordered was large and comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom were modern and very comfortable. Windows were easily opened for fresh Zürich air and the bed was the most comfortable we’ve had in years, not to mention the great fluffy down pillows.

The toiletries seem to be more like a two or three star hotel - very small shampoo and lotion, and a soap not much bigger than a half dollar. When the soap was used in the shower, a second one for the sink way not provided the next day. If we had asked, I’m sure it would have been provided.

The standout feature of the hotel is its terrific staff... everyone was very friendly and helpful, and particular mention must be made to the wonderful daytime front desk team. The breakfast was also very well done - with some nice touches for Easter - and the location is very central .... it's easy to walk everywhere in the centre of town.

The hotel itself is very dated, and while the (single) beds are comfortable - we had a twin room - they are on the smaller side. Given the size of the rooms, and its excellent location, this hotel could be charging a lot more if they were to invest in some renovations and updates ... in the meantime, it offers excellent value for those not fussed about the latest mod-cons.

The location was perfect for meeting friends nearby. Breakfast was very good. Front desk/reception staff were very friendly, kind and happy to please. Allowed me to make a local call from one of their phones, since one cannot do that from the room. The day we were due to check out our grandson became ill and needed to sleep until it was time to go to airport. Hotel allowed us to have a free late check out in one of the two rooms. Very grateful.

Nothing important: I thought reception areas look a bit worn and could do with a redo, for the price of the stay.

Location was great for walking to experience the city or getting to lake area for exercise. Breakfast was nice with options for everyone with different tastes. There are two lifts and never had to wait long. The room was spacious.

The facility is dated and showing wear. There was a laundry cart stored in the hallway at all times and also a ladder stored in the stairway at all times. Hopefully these could be relocated for guests to have a more elevated stay. The shower had a curtain instead of glass door. My room had lots of noise from street, I was on the alley side of building.

The hotel is a beautiful classical structure, in a great location, with welcoming receptionists who are ready to assist you. Rooms are large, marble covered bathroom and comfy beds and pillows and crispy bedlinen. The hotel is walking distance to Old City, center of the city, Zurich lake shore, museums, shopping, train station. Breakfast is great, with plenty to choose and for any taste and great staff serving. We are returning guests. I reccomend the hotel. It is not a cheap hotel, but a great value for money for Zurich if you look into all above. 🍀☀️✨️🌟

You cannot beat the location! Short walk to grocery stores, restaurants and the lake. Very clean, spacious room and we overlooked a quiet street. We arrived at the hotel at 8 in the morning. We were tired and jet lagged. The concierge said our room wasn’t available and when he saw how disappointed we were, he offered us another room that was ready. We were so happy to get some rest. From the concierge to the team in the restaurant, everyone has been very helpful! The breakfast had great options including fresh juice and delicious coffee.

Excellent hotel! Clean and comfortable room/bed. Decoration of the room is still a little "old" style but it goes with the place's vibe. The breakfast is continental style, super complete and with incredibly nice staff always paying attention so food is always hot and available. The room itself is spacious, and clean, and super neat bathroom.

Something that they might want to just double-check would be the coffee machines in the room, given that is an amenity most people might not use, I tried the one in my room and the coffee kept coming out from the wrong places
