Our stay at the Protea Hotel Dar es Salaam Courtyard was delightful! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The team and staff were incredibly polite, professional, and always ready to assist. One of the things I appreciated the most was the security at the entrance. They thoroughly inspect vehicles, even checking underneath, which made us feel very safe during our stay. The restaurant, while slightly on the expensive side, offers a wide variety of dishes with excellent quality. We opted for the breakfast-included package, and it was absolutely worth it! There were plenty of options and generous portions to start the day. Our room was small but perfectly adequate for two people. The only minor downside was the air conditioning – it worked but wasn’t as cold as we would have liked. Aside from that, everything went smoothly. To our surprise, we were welcomed with a fruit platter and freshly pressed juice upon arrival in our room. It was such a thoughtful touch that made me feel like a star! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dar es Salaam

The staff's friendliness and attentiveness significantly enhanced our experience. The ambiance and meticulous attention to detail were highly appreciated. We were made to feel welcome from the moment of arrival, and the dinner service was exceptional. Having traveled extensively to 56 countries, this hotel exceeded all prior expectations.

Treadmill in gym was old and belt was lose. I'm sure they would have fixed it if I had asked but I only used it once.

There were so many great things about this hotel- the facility is so charming with all the woodwork and stained glass lighting, the outdoor space around the pool is a great place to hang out. Staff were wonderful and so helpful. We even had a custom cooked dinner on our last night and they agreed to keep our luggage while we went on safari for 5 days!! Breakfast was wonderful with so many options. Our room was very large, spacious and comfortable.

Nothing, everything was great

Staff in all departments were exceptionally service and customer oriented. In charge manager Sami was incredibly professional to ensure guests were cared for. Manager Dinish welcomes every guest with a signed personal note, extending personal warmth and hospitality. The food is top class. I will definitely be returning!!

Nothing to complain.

The staff and management of Protea were the most welcoming and accommodating. The rooms and the inner yard have the charm of old Dar es Salaam. This is close to the city center and many embassies. The gym is simple but has all what is needed to get rid of stifness that takes your body during the long trips. Warmly recommended.

Only suggestion is to have a fan in the gym. Otherwise, it is difficult to improve.

The staff and facilities at Protea Garden Court were perfect. The buffet breakfast was an added bonus and the fact that you do not have to vacate your room until 12:00 is very generous. We needed to wait for a few hours for a connecting flight and the hotel allowed us to stay, keep our bags in the luggage room and generally did not mind the fact that we were still around 3 or 4 hours after officially checking out. The hotel has a charm and character to it and, during the dry season, the pool must be very inviting, sadly we were there during the rains.

I loved the breakfast options. Very well spread and not your typical breakfast items, which I really enjoyed. I loved the attention to keeping the areas well scented and fragranced. The shower water pressure was perfect!

For the bed, perhaps an additional bed sheet between the duvet and mattress for comfort's sake.

VERRRY nice breakfast buffet. Amazing court yard, old british empire atmosphere nicely captured throughout the Hotel. Rooms with all modern amenities, so no worries about "Britishness" . Best to describe it as a hotel with a unique flair. Courtyard at night great for taking amazing pictures with the hugh tree and the pool. Unfortunately as an out door courtyard, there are mosquitos, and if you sit around long enough after dark in the garden, they will eat you alive.

Rooms a bit on the small side (two people, two suitcases + carry-on is tight!) this is a small hotel, gym sufficiently large, however No Spa - for those looking for pampering.

The hotel is charming; we had some very pleasant days. The staff is always willing to help, the food is delicious, and it is essential to highlight that we loved everything. Additionally, it's a very clean place with good facilities and a refreshing pool. Thanks to the manager for his collaboration and, in general, to all the people who work there. To top it off, they graciously gave us a gift to enjoy on the journey back home.

The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful. The room is a bit compact with little storage place but has some charm and generally meets the expectations. Dinner service and choice of food was very good.

Breakfast could improve. The choice of food was limited and not very tasty. It was clearly biased towards local preferences for a heavy cooked breakfast with very limited choice of healthier options.
