Big rooms with a private swimming pool. We had a beach and ocean view, which was great. Breakfast was fantastic with a la carte menu. Staff was very friendly and the hotel was walking distance to the main entertainment area.

Didn’t like that there were so many Israelis in the hotel (and in Koh Samui in general). They were very loud and obnoxious. We heard a lot is screaming, shouting and disturbance in the room next to us and in the hallways (loud adults and screaming kids).

Superb accommodation, that looks exactly like the photographs. The staff were amazing and helpful with our one year old daughter. Upon check-in, you can choose your pillow & the smell of soap/bodylotion you prefer in your room. Also, SALA provides an app that you can use throughout your stay to communicate with the staff about housekeeping/restaurants reservations and everything else you can think of. Amazing and very responsive service. During our stay in Thailand, we stayed in various 5-star resorts, but this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. We will definitely return to Koh Samui and to SALA Chaweng specifically. We highly recommend this hotel! Also, short walk to Chaweng center + 24/7 supermarket in front of the resort. The Tent serves very good breakfast, lunch and dinner with amazing views.

During our stay it was really crowded and we could not always find beds on the beach. That being said, there were always sunbeds available (they also have sunbeds near the pool and loungers on the grass, etc.).

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Sala Samui Chewang Beach Resort, and it was an unforgettable experience! This luxurious resort, located right on the vibrant Chewang Beach, perfectly blends contemporary design with traditional Thai elements. Our villa was beautifully appointed, complete with a private pool, which provided a serene oasis for relaxation. The amenities at the resort were exceptional, particularly the stunning beachfront pool and the full-service spa, where we indulged in some much-needed pampering. The dining options were fantastic, showcasing a delightful mix of local and international cuisine that satisfied our taste buds every time. What truly set this experience apart was the staff; they were next level! Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel truly special throughout our stay. We also loved the lively atmosphere of Chewang Beach, with its shops, bars, and nightlife just a short stroll away.

One aspect we noticed during our stay was that it could get a bit noisy at times, as the resort is predominantly family-oriented, with many kids enjoying the facilities. While we appreciated the lively atmosphere, it may not be ideal for those seeking a quieter retreat.

Beautifully designed hotel with tastefully decorated, super spacious rooms, set in luscious grounds. Staff are very friendly and attentive. So many nice little touches, like special bedtime tea blend in the room every night, and lots of handy amenities. Great setup on the beach with sufficient number of lounges, didn’t have a problem getting one at all, and a great restaurant beachside. Gym well equipped and nice too. The hotel I think is making sustainability efforts. It’s great that they provide free “tap” water (bottled water from bigger barrels) instead of the plastic bottles seen everehere in Asia. This is provided iced cups on the beach for everyone , and at the restaurant. Our room had its own private pool which was amazing ! We loved our stay and would come again!

The price of the room (on the expensive side in Thailand) is worth it for the level of comfort and service), however I feel that the spa treatments, and the prices at the restaurant for food and drinks are very overpriced for Thailand, and seemed to be the most expensive of any of the other hotel menus we saw. $8 AUD for a bottle of San Pellegrino mineral water is excessive. The food undoubtedly was delicious, really beautiful thai food, but similar prices to what you would pay in Australia. Then don’t forget the additional 10% and 7% in taxes on top. It’s fine if you have no problem paying - it’s very convenient and the quality and service at the restaurant is high, however maybe slight adjustment would be more commensurate.

Loved everything about it.. the staff were amazing.. the beach was awesome. It has a supermarket which is open 24/7, were you can find all the things you needed. Close to some restaurants only walking distance.

The staff were so lovely and accomodating whenever we had requests and always said hello. Spa was unbelievable - we had facials, massages and body scrubs and can't fault our experience. Food was excellent and had lots of choices. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. A really nice enclosed beach. Great locations to the Main Street and a short drive to fisherman's village.

Rollaway bed was uncomfortable for our third guest—consider two rooms for a party of three. No adults-only pool. Loud upbeat music at pool and beach all day, even during yoga and breakfast; natural sounds would be more relaxing. Bright outdoor lights streamed into our room at night, but the hotel was very accommodating in helping us.

We chose to stay at Sala for our honeymoon, 6 nights of pure bliss. We were treated with a special surprise upon arrival in our room, champagne, roses and dessert. The staff were amazing and so helpful. There’s app which you can communicate with staff at anytime and ask questions or requests. When checking in you choose pillows, soaps and lotions based on your personal preferences. We had breakfast included and wow… coffee was great, food was a buffet and then you can get things made from the menu. The pools were great, service, food and cocktails by the pool so awesome. When checking out at 12noon they booked us showers at 3pm so we could still use the pool and then we waited the guest lounge with aircon and couches until our driver arrived at 4pm. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be returning when we come back to Koh Samui.

Stunning hotel with big, bright rooms. The breakfast was phenomenal and we loved having an ocean view. We loved having direct access to the beach and the possibility of renting kayaks/paddel boards. The staff was incredibly friendly and the spa is very good, too!

We stayed in another hotel with a similar room which was just as good but paid a much lower nightly rate for that one. I think this hotel is a bit overpriced, especially since we travelled during low season. We also had some uncomfortable nights since the beds are quite hard and if you stay on the ocean side, you can hear some of the street noise.

From check in to departure, our stay was just wonderful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I loved the small but thoughtful touches - the welcome drink and towel, the ability to select our pillows and lotion scents, the sandwich and fruit platter as we waited for our room. Our Garden balcony room was fabulous. It was clean and spacious, though the clear glass tub/shower in the middle of the bathroom space meant that we'd have to curtain it off and only one person could be using that space at a time. The Garden pool was lovely and quiet, while the Beach pool and area was luxurious. We had dinner at The Tent and breakfasts at Sexy Fish and they were wonderful. The breakfast buffet had a great varied selection. The resort is a quick walk to restaurants and the busier Chaweng Beach strip. Loved the location - we walked down the beach for more casual lunch and to get a Thai massage (a must do!). This was our first time staying at a five-star hotel and it exceeded our expectations.

The one small drawback was the daybed/second bed. It was a bit firm and uncomfortable for our teenage daughter to sleep on.

25 years ago i stayed in the same location, when there was another Hotel licated here … so i was very curious how things are. And what can i say? A Beautiful and spacious hotel, very generous rooms that are a lot bigger than they appear in the pictures. I slept comfortably on the mattress and the twice daily room cleaning is a luxury without ever being intrusive. The staff in general are absolutely wonderful: super friendly and relaxed while being reliable and very professional. I felt like a very welcome guest whenever we interacted. Breakfast was great and Dinner in the Cabanas so relaxing. When i got sick i was provided complimentary tea, toast, bananas… the team checking in on me and being very helpful. The beach is not swimmable but beautiful - if you are looking for picturesque serenity, to me, it’s the best location on Chaweng you can get. I would come back again any time and fully recommend the hotel! Different Hotel - but just as great as 25 years ago.

I’m not good with aircons and since there was no classic fan in the room, i had to manage. No big deal, but a ceiling fan over the bed would have been my icing on the cake.
