El barrio Lanna is a perfect hotel in Chiang Mai. We had sn amazing stay and we liked so much their instalations. All was very clean and tidy. The building looks like colonial, it is very nice. The employees were very kind and friendly. Thanks so much for all and we hope to see you soon. Maribel y Maribel.

Very nice room, quiet location, clean, and comfortable. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, although a little repetitive. Snacks available all day. Rooms well shaded from the sun so they stayed cool.

In the description on Booking it says free taxi from airport to hotel, but the hotel does not offer than (this seems to be an issue with Booking itself), and the hotel cited a price of 320 bhat. The actual taxi price is 150 bhat, so get your taxi at the airport kiosk. Overall a very minor issue and one that's more about a lack of communication between Booking and the hotels that use it. Somewhat expensive. A bit more variation in breakfast between days would be nice. The breakfast repeated every other day.

We picked this particular property as it had a traditional Thai feel. We were a family of 4, 14 and 13 teenagers, and booked the 2 bed apartment. Although it’s worth noting that these rooms are completely separate (2 front doors) and can be connected via the small garden. The hotel is in a good location, lots on your door step or you can get a tuk tuk and go a bit further out. The pool was lovely and not very busy. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. This was the biggest bed we stayed on whilst travelling around Thailand. The breakfast was simple but nice, there are eggs to order ie omelette, scrambled etc. The staff are so friendly. We also done some washing whilst there and if I’m not mistaken it was 120 baht per kilo. Definitely recommend this. Overall I loved our stay here and wish we stayed longer. It has been my favourite hotel so far whilst in Thailand.

For a relatively small establishment, the buffet breakfast provided was excellent with almost everything you need to start the day, including some friendly and attentive staff. The location of the hotel was a little (very little) out of the way but very walkable to anywhere else in the old city. Love the refreshing drinks and cookies provided thru the day. Reception staff were very helpful and gracious

Had a huge bath tub but we asians are a little smaller and will slip in the tub as it gets very slippery with the bath bombs/foam. A mat and/or handles would help, also for safety reasons.

We were tipped by friends and it did not disappoint at all. This place is a charm. A great place to stay, very clean, with very friendly staff and on a great location (a quiet street in the middle of the centre of lovely Chiang Mai). The breakfast was not huge but very well taken care of. We are a family of 3 and had the Signature room that has 1. more space than the Deluxe room and 2. A balcony with seats and pool view (which the Studio doesn’t have). The Signature room has a separate corner where we placed the extra bed which was perfect for our 4yo son, to sleep sort of seperate from us but still in the same room. We truly had a lovely stay and would def recommend.

The separate corner of the Signature room isn’t really cooled by the airco so quite warm to sleep in. Plus it’s next to the bathroom where mosquitos easily squeeze in through the older doors. A mosquito net would have solved this but there’s no facility to hang it (if you brought one). There where the airco directly blows this is no problem. The breakfast is ok. The swimming pool is lovely but too deep for younger kids who can’t swim, the can’t play here by themselves. Not a big problem but to take into consideration.

I loved the ambience, the layout, small and relaxed vibe. It’s hidden down a lane way, like a lot of accomodation in the area. It’s truly walking distance to a lot of options for just about anything, tours generally pick up for free in this area. Food, Shopping and drink options are perfect. Small Breakfast bar was great for something before heading out, easily enough to fill you. I found this delightful. And value for money.

The only negative was terrible wifi, and my roaming seemed to be in a weak spot too which made it inconvenient. This is the case in many places, but a couple of small online tasks were problematic.

I loved my stay here, it was quiet, relaxing, and really lovely hotel facilities. Very walkable to the old town bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were welcoming and the security man always welcomed me back with a smile. Kudos to the lovely team here. The bed is amazingly comfortable, I slept perfectly.

The bar/restaurant only offers food and drinks for breakfast & lunch, I would have liked an evening option, but this did not affect the quality of my stay. Re-signing in to the wifi each time of use was a little annoying but also did not affect my stay.

Boutique hotel with exceptionally comfy bed/mattress. It was easter weekend and staff member kindly did a happy easter sign for my 10 year old which was appreciated. Location is great and walking distance to most things. Breakfast was good too and the added afternoon coffee/drink station is a nice touch. Overall enjoyed our stay!

They requested $1000 baht or equivalent for security card deposit and could not check out until they ‘viewed’ the room which we felt was not a nice experience to the customer. Appreciate cards can be lost but they already have your credit card details and could work out in a more pleasant manner. We travelled in 7 different hotels in Thailand/Cambodia and this was the first time we had this experience. Room was a little small for the superior triple but comfortable all the same. Pool area fills up quickly (only 5 deck chairs) so be prepared not to have a seat when using the pool (appreciate hard due to limited space) as the pictures show a bigger space that the actual area (it is a great pool).

Nice big comfortable room, great bed, excellent shower, lovely staff and a balcony. Location in old town is good, which made things within walking distance. The entrance path leading to the reception and how they have used the plants was pretty. No problem with WiFi.

I was a little disappointed with the breakfast, it was pleasant but definitely lacking options and each morning I felt like I couldn’t really find something I wanted to eat. The pool looks lovely but it’s a little small. The hotel is next to a school and although I could not hear the children the road outside of the hotel got busy during drop off and pick up time. Balcony view was not the best.

We had a delightful week-long stay at the El Barrio Lanna hotel. The staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and professional. Our bus arrived in CM early, but the desk staff kindly allowed us to check in early. The room was clean, modern, and showcased lovely northern-style architecture. The hotel is a pleasant 15-minute walk from the main moat gate, with many beautiful temples to explore along the way! Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the El Barrio Lanna hotel and would gladly return. We highly recommend it.
