This is perfect location for both the Saturday evening Wua Lai market (which has a lovely vibe) as it is on the doorstep. It is a short walk (5 mins) to the city gates and you can hail songthaew easily there. The area feels safe and the hostel feels safe too. Staff are friendly. Bathrooms very clean - we preferred the upstairs ones which are wet rooms (see pic) and we also enjoyed the balcony are upstairs. If you have a double bedroom it is pretty much like a hotel. Beds were comfy too. Hotel directly next to the hostel serves good food at a reasonable price and Aum (10 mins walk) serves stunning veggie and vegan food. However if you’re there when the market is on you won’t need to go anywhere else!

The bunkbed room smelt a little musty but there is no window to open so that’s to be expected. Do not let this put you off though as this is a great little hostel.

Location – WOW! Boy, was I glad I booked our stay here during our trip to Chiang Mai. Wua Lai is where the Saturday Night Market takes place and that’s exactly where this property is located! The hostel is set back a few meters from the road, so even with the busy market happening, you still get privacy, peace, and quiet. Amazing staff. A few days before check-in, the staff reached out to us via WhatsApp. They gave us instructions on how to find the property since the market starts around 3 PM and we were checking in between 4–5 PM. We had a hard time finding the place (not their fault), but a very kind lady (not their staff) noticed us struggling with our heavy luggage on the street and offered to call the property for us. She suggested we wait for someone to come get us (and they did)! Wow. That’s Thai hospitality. Such wonderful people. When we arrived, Tao showed us around and led us to our rooms. He also helped with our laundry, and another staff member booked our Chiang Rai tour for us. Clean bedrooms and bathrooms. The bathrooms are shared but always super clean. The rooms themselves are nice and spotless. At night, you might hear faint noise from nearby bars (I think?), but it’s not really an issue. Great rates. Considering the incredible location, wonderful rooms, and amazing staff, the rates they offer are absolutely worth it.

I really like the location as it’s near eateries but not in a crowded area. The facilities are kept clean and my room is really massive and worth your money!!! The room can easily fit an entire family. The common bathrooms are always kept clean. And the star of the property are Tao and YA who goes out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. Always making sure we are comfortable. YA even helped me booked a last minute Elephant Sanctuary Tour and for that I am thankful. As a female solo traveller I felt safe during my stay here. I will definitely be back :)

I hoped the curtains can block a bit more of light as it can get very bright during the day and night. Other than that I had a very comfortable stay!

I like the staff who's very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is great; rooms and beds are clean and comfortable. Should be a must-stay in Chiangmai. In front of the hostel is a street where a weekend nigh market is hosted, which is fun.

Be careful of some vendors at the night market. I got scammed there when a vendor trying to sell a 450B belt which worth sh** The police were helpless when I reported to them. He only replied "no, no" like theres nothing to do with that problem. So, again, be careful. You're still a visitor and have to be accepted if your rights are not protected in others' homeland.

Very nice little hostel, really well taken care of, clean, with everything to make guests feel comfortable: living room with kitchenette, a lovely terrace, clean bathrooms with hot shower, beds in the dorms are very comfortable with a full curtain for privacy. The host is very kind and available to help. The position is also great... I was here almost a week to attend a massage school nearby. It is on a road with cafes, 7/11 and other services. Night market for dinner just a few minutes walk away.

It’s budget friendly great value for money in an interesting neighborhood and very close to old town. The shared bathrooms were clean and functional, bed was comfy, several fresh towels, filtered drinking water (glas bottles, no plastic which is great) provided everyday and more to refill in the kitchen area. WiFi was fast and liked the upstairs patio area to drink ur coffee. Owner was super kind. There is a locking system at the front door so it feels safe and it’s quiet. They run a cute cafe but unfortunately open too late for me to try.

The door of the room was pretty annoying (glass door with curtains, which doesnt really block out the light from the hallway at night of left on and gets caught in the door when closing it); bathrooms were clean but if someone showers the toilet is completely wet; a small kitchen table in kitchen area would be nice as there are only low coffee tables, but it’s ok. But for the price really can’t complain and still recommend.

Was a nice room w ample space to stretch, not that we did any stretching. Nice view of the garden, saw some cool birds and a few squirrels hehe. House keepers were so lovely, lady didn’t speak any English but would always smile and chuckle when we crossed paths, and the young man was also very helpful and polite. Coffee here was good too!

Forgot that the weekend market happens on this street so if your not into loud noises don’t stay here during weekends, but weekdays is usually quiet

I truly appreciate this accommodation—the staff are incredibly helpful, it’s impeccably clean, and wonderfully quiet. I enjoyed the most restful sleep here, and the location is so conveniently placed. The 7-Eleven is just a short walk away, and every Saturday, there’s a lively night market right in front of the hostel. Do keep that in mind—it’s an absolute delight!

We stayed over a weekend in one of the private rooms and the Saturday market was right outside so would definitely recommend! It’s only a short walk into the old town and to the night markets. Staff were so friendly and helpful the entire time, they helped us organise a trip to the sticky waterfalls one morning and were so welcoming. When we were there it was quite quiet, so if you want somewhere chilled out this is perfect.
