The roosters were only an issue in the room I had with a balcony. I stayed on the 9th floor and moved to a room with no balcony and couldn’t hear them again. There was some construction noise however but it only caught my attention once. One big issue was smoke (both cigs and weed) being sucked into my air conditioner but this wasn’t a fault of the hotel it was merrily trashy guest when unfortunately, value hotels attract. This hotel is totally nonsmoking and by laws in Thailand prohibit smoking in hotels, apartments and condos like this. Also on their balconies!

I stayed in 10 different hotels in CM before founding this place that is perfect for me. I ended up staying here for a few weeks. It's situated in the middle of residential area - very quiet at night, still less than 10 min walk from the Square. All rooms have large desks and wifi is stable so you can do some laptop work Given the low price, it's just a very good place to stay Pro tip: the rooms ending in 3 (like 603) have the best balconies

I recently stayed at Nordwind Hotel during my trip to Chiang Mai, and it was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm hospitality, instantly making me feel comfortable and welcome. The rooms were beautifully designed, combining modern comfort with traditional Thai aesthetics, and were always spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel is perfect, close to major attractions but quiet enough for a peaceful stay. Breakfast was a daily highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious local and international dishes. What stood out to me the most was the staff’s attention to detail and their willingness to go above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. They were always ready to assist with any requests, from organizing tours to providing local tips. I would highly recommend Nordwind Hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Generally great. Pool was lovely, room was clean, staff were helpful. Shower was the best pressure and temperature we had in a month in Thailand. Fridge in room was wonderful and plenty of water provided every day was great. Location easy walking distance from old town and night markets. Was quiet apart from the roosters next door which the hotel would have no control over. Perfectly fine for a longish stay. Breakfast hours of 7-10am were useful. Lots of choice for breakfast. 5-10 min walk from old town. Nice little restaurant/ bar (Berries) at end of the street, 7-11, gym, market street and lots of local food options close by.

Our main issue was the double bed. It was 2 single beds pushed together with a double sheet and duvet. The mattresses were very soft and slid apart and over to one side. The sheets fell off one side. It would be better to use 2 single sheets and a double duvet as at least the sheets would stay on. Not good if you wanted a romantic holiday. It would have been really useful to have labels on the hot food for breakfast. Many days there were soup of various kinds but you could not tell if it was meat or vegetable or spicy or not so most people didn’t touch it. Labels would help a lot. The pool was lovely but a handrail on the steps up to it would make it safer when getting out.

The hotel location is perfect. There is elevator access and no one at the front desk at night asking to see your girlfriends ID card. Proper hotel. Staff is very professional. Nice pool where travelers and families actual swim in! there is parking for cars and motorcycles. Hotel is a gem and the price cant be beat for what you are getting. The staff are kind and helpful even when you aren't feeling your best to communicate well they understand. btw - the latte shop helped me with my luggage as I had a lot. super thanks again!

The downstairs latte/coffee bar I love. Just wish it was open a little later.

The hotel and staff were very good. Staff very helpful and rooms are a really good size and well equipped. The balcony was a little small( not really a balcony) and had the A/C Unit on it so it was very hot as hot air was blasting out. The pool is very nice and seating area comfortable. The hotel is very well located for Chiang Mai old city. One thing potential customers may want to consider ( and I'm not sure the hotel can do much about it), but there is an area of land immediately next door which has chickens and cockerels on it.......in the early hours the cockerels start making a lot of noise and if you are in the wrong side of the hotel, you will be woken unless you are a heavy sleeper.

It was a nice big room with a table and comfy bed, one can work quite comfortably, if needed. They deliver 3 bottles of water daily. Breakfast was very nice, buffet with some choice. The location is also nice, 5 min to the walls, so you can walk the city center by your feet any time. Doors are electronic with a key card. There is a cozy sofa and bookable in the room. Wifi was very fast, like 200 mbit, they have at least 2 routers on each floor, that's so nice!

There were dim lights and no separate lights for the table, so in the evening it's not so comfortable to work there.

Bed was comfy, breakfast was simple and the kitchen staff don't speak english, so was hard to ask them for something because they don't understand, but they are really very kind. Receptionist let us to leave your backpacks for few hours the day we had check out, so thank you for that.

We sleep in highest floor but on the room are closed doors to next room and because of that we hear everything the person was doing in the room till midnight..

Very comfortable bed, spacious room and good WiFi. Great location, only 15 minutes walk to Old Town and the markets.

The shower wasn't warm (but not freezing cold), so we put up with it rather than raise it, as after a hot day the cooler shower was most welcome (but not in the mornings). I am sure if we mentioned it to reception it would've been sorted. The drain(s) could at times be a bit smelly, but nothing too bad and not sure the hotel could do much to sort this.
