I absolutely loved staying here! Paapu is an incredibly warm host- she immediately got me tea when I arrived and sat down with me to orient me to the city and answer my questions. The house is beautifully decorated. It has character- little random objects and personal art on the walls. It feels like home. The cafe and balcony are excellent gathering spaces if you want to socialize, but having your own room gives you privacy. The live music on Thursday was seriously amazing! Clean, caring, + a great location- I recommend it wholeheartedly💜

From having the best host, to the comfort and homely feel of the rooms and place, the decor, the live music on Thursdays, the people, and a wonderful place to stay and give you a feel of familiarity during your travels! Paapu is honestly the most incredibke host, highly accommodating and will help you in any and every way you need. Truly the best place I’ve stayed in in Thailand, and across SEA! If I could have stayed longer, I would have haha. Will be back when I’m next in chiang mai. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to call a home during their travels and also embark on adventures exploring the hidden gems of chiang mai .

I genuinely can't imagine a better place to stay in this world than Paapu House! The location is unbeatable—right next to Tha Phae Gate. To the east, you’ve got mueang mai Market, the Fruit Market, and Warorot Market, making it incredibly convenient for shopping for handmade crafts or grabbing food. Walk a couple of steps to the west, and you’re already in the heart of Chiang Mai Old City. But it’s not just the perfect location that makes Paapu House stand out—the community vibe here is something truly special. Every Thursday night, they host live band performances, and on Saturdays, there’s a drum circle where you can join in for free play. All the decorations were also incrediblely lovely, you could tell from all the details that the host loves a good living. The host and her boyfriend are the kindest, most helpful people you’ll meet. When my friend was at risk of missing her flight and we were desperately struggling to book a taxi, the host rallied everyone around to help us. Her boyfriend even offered to take my friend to the airport on his motorbike. It’s the warm and interesting souls you encounter here that really elevate the entire travel experience. And let’s not forget the amazing food! If you’re a fan of Western cuisine or brunch, you’re in for a treat. I regretted booking another accommodation in Chiang Mai—I would’ve loved to stay longer at Paapu House. Will definitely coming back!

I've stayed in so many places over the years. For me, it has always been the staff, the host or the owners of the accommodation that make all the difference. It is very easy to see when people love what they are doing and are passionate about their business. Paapu is one of those people, and it really shows.

Paapu house is more than a guest house. It is a welcoming, charming place to spend a few days. Its location is perfect, just next to the old city, in walking distance to all attractions. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is fantastic, with the cafè downstairs serving food all day. There is good live music on Thursdays, so I suggest to stay for that! One of the best things for sure is Paapu, who puts a lot of effort to make guests feel at home, and is always available for a chat and to give suggestions about things to do. Staying with Paapu was the highlight of my month in Thailand. I felt at home from the moment I arrived. Paapu has thought of everything—a master host and an exceptionally kind, thoughtful (and super cool!) person, with a wonderful spirit, superb knowledge and great taste, and excellent recommendations. The location is brilliant, the rooms super cute and clean, and full of nice touches. I’ve stayed all over the world in all kinds of accommodation as a travel journalist and I can honestly say Paapu House is in the very top of tier among all of my travel experiences. Paapu is the warmest, kindest host I could have asked for on my first solo trip to Thailand. She made me feel so at home, providing tailored recommendations and asking how my trip was going with genuine interest. Her home is so beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a helpful list of tips and recommendations provided to all guests. The location is amazing, with so many attractions and practical establishments within walking distance. Paapu was always quick to respond over WhatsApp, and talking to her in person always lifted my mood! The brunch at her downstairs restaurant was delicious, and her Thursday night live music event was a trip highlight. She was also so kind and patient to accommodate me when I asked to leave my luggage for several hours after checkout. In all, Paapu House just feels like a home for travelers who love art, music, and life — vibrant, homey, and full of character. It was an honor to be hosted by someone as lovely as Paapu and to stay at her beautiful home. Would love to return and stay longer the next time I visit Chiang Mai!

We had the most incredible stay at Paapu House! The owner is so nice, really welcoming! She was able to give us some good tips on things to do/eat/see in the area. The room was so cute and cosy, nicer than we expected. The shared bathroom was really clean, not too many guests meant we could shower when we wanted to and did not have to wait. The location is perfect, just outside of the city center. A nice 20min walk to the night market, walking distance to many of the temples in Chiang Mai. We had breakfast twice at the downstairs cafe and it was incredible! Super fresh, big portions and amazing vibes. I would definitely come here again!

Paapu House is a very friendly place to stay at, where one can really feel at home. Paapu herself gave very useful tips to visit Chiang Mai. Paapu House is also a bar and serves some food, with a big choice of breakfast. The common areas were clean. While it is located outside of the old town, it's only a short walk away and it hasn't been a problem at all to visit the old city just by walking.

Because the bar is very close, there is a bit of noise, which might be a problem if you want to sleep early, especially the concert nights! Wasn't a problem for me.

I stayed at Paapu House with my boyfriend for 2 nights. It was just a really good vibe. The place was clean, the location was perfect, the staff was super friendly and the food in the restaurant was incredible. They also played some live music on valentines day which was super nice. I would definitely go back and 100% recommend this place

I am a light sleeper so I could hear the traffic from the window, but I guess its only because of the room that we had was facing the road. They provided earplugs in the room so that helped a bit
