Location: The place is surrounded by local restaurants nearby. Only a few minutes walk to the night market. There is also a pharmacy, convenience store, and laundry around. Warorot market is only a 10-15 minute walk. The staff is friendly and always helpful. I love the swimming pool. The place is always clean - the bathroom, rooms, and corridor.

The place is practically new, and they are still improving and repairing some things while I was there. A water kettle and washable cups would be helpful for future guests.

Great location for the price. My girlfriend and I loved our stay - the staff was so nice and it is run by a lovely family. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is very clean and the pool is a nice touch. If your are able to book this hotel it sells out quick!

There is no elevator - however it is only 3 floors. If you have mobility issues you can try and request a room on the main floor.

This lovely little hotel is set in the heart of Chiang Mai's old town. It is in easy walking of cafés, restaurants, boutique shops and massage parlours. Our pool view room was quite small, but very clean and comfortable. There was a fridge and the AC was efficient. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The bathroom looked new and had plenty of warm water for showers, although possibly only cold water in the sink. There's no safe in the room. The small pool was clean with cute seats so you could dangle your legs in. It was nice having it to cool off in after a hot day! The owners are friendly and were able to tell us about things that were going on in Chiang Mai. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The pool was a bit chilly for me - ok for a quick dip, but maybe not for lazing by all day. They had toast and things to make tea and coffee in a shared room, but I would have liked to be able to buy breakfast from their cafe. It wasn't a problem - Chiang Mai has so many cafés, but it's a pleasant setting and it would have been convenient.

No chair at the swimming pool

This felt newly built or remodeled. Budget room is small but very clean and well done. I peaked in nicer rooms and they are much better furnished. Instant strong hot water shower. Very quiet location yet extremely convenient to all things in the NE corner of the old city.

Pool is murky and awkward like other reviewers mentioned. No place to sit or lounge with little sun also. Owners are nice enough though not gregarious. Coffee shop opens late. No way to make hot water in the room.

We absolutely loved our three nights at Valentier. It's a little oasis right in the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai's Old Town. Nice sized rooms, comfy bed, great walk in shower and fresh water every day. It's in a fantastic location but still really quiet and relaxed. Nice space out the front of each room as well - we were at the end of the corridor so felt a bit more like our space. Really kind people who run it. Totally recommend.

The pool is really lovely after a hot day exploring. Only slight comment is it's a bit tricky to sit round it as the only space with seats is in front of other people's rooms. We had camping chairs with us so took those down and sat in front of the cafe, but it might be a bit tricky if you wanted to sit there a while. We just wanted to cool off quickly so was fine. Lovely to have a pool!

We enjoyed this simple hotel in the northeast corner of Old Town Chiang Mai. We did not choose the breakfast option. There is a cafe in this newer hotel, but sadly, it is not functional. The pool is cold and small with no real place to lounge. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Friendly accommodating staff. Hotel is in great location close to night markets, shops and restaurants and has a lovely little plunge pool which is very clean.

Mattress a little firm and would of been nice to have a kettle in the room for coffee although this was available by reception.

Our second time staying here. Great location. Very comfortable beds, modern rooms and good air con. The owners are lovely, very kind and helpful people. Water delivered to rooms every day and free tea/coffee and toast also available. Will definitely return next time.

Loved it here! Not sure if it was recently renovated as everything felt new and clean and working perfectly. Comfy bed, good air con, netflix on the telly a plus after being struck by a 24 hour illness. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Pool could maybe do with a more official seating area, however this is a minor issue
